I kind of never went back after having DD, 2 years ago, so I suppose I am a SAHM, for now anyway

fairyfay · 19/10/2007 21:36

zara

LittleMissNorty · 19/10/2007 21:37

I'd have to repay the NHS a lot of money if I didn't go back....not thats an option here

Sounds like you're keeping your options open?

fairyfay · 19/10/2007 21:39

I only got standard maternity pay with no uplift so didn't have to pay anything back, thankfully. I'm not sure when I will go back, or what I'll do. Depends how we get on financially

LittleMissNorty · 19/10/2007 21:42

Sounds good!

God I'm having a dreadful day...I gave up smoking a year ago as soon as I found out I was pg...it was hard but most days now don't even think about it...definitely think of myself as a non-smoker rather than an ex-smoker....but today I've had REALLY bad cravings....don't know why or where they have come from ....its doing my head in so I think I'm going to go to bed and hopefully wake up without them tomorrow....

order my kitchen tomorrow

Night x

fairyfay · 19/10/2007 21:44

Good night LMN. Have fun with your kitchen

justbeme · 19/10/2007 21:53

I love those pictures with the Kids clothes !
All those lovely dogs as well!

Im being summoned to the lounge now - have a nice night all X

riabutterflew · 19/10/2007 21:53

sounds like an interesting job lmn.

re bananas, I didn't have a clue when ds was doing it with the maths teacher, but I'm so determined to beat dh I keep practising (cos its so quiet on here). I know more about angles after 3 days than I did when I left school. I can't add up to save my life

When ds2 was a baby DH did a 3 month contract in Aberystwyth in the bar on the pier. The tram ride was scary, but he bought us matching elvish love rings
I can't get that on now either...(haven't worn my wedding ring much since ds1 was born.)

i've had the odd cigarette out the kitchen window when my son has been sleeping. i was so paranoid though i had all the windows open and had a towel along the bottom of the door incase smoke escaped. It was a bad day.
I don't know how to play the banana game...is there rules or am i just being really dumb?

fairyfay · 19/10/2007 21:58

Hi Clara - you need to move the line to what you think is the correct angle. The closer you get the more bananas you get - I'm rubbish at it

riabutterflew · 19/10/2007 22:00

hi clara.

If you think of the banana circle like a clock 0 & 360 degrees are quarter to (why is that? shouldn't 0 be at 12oclock?), so 90 degrees is at the top. and you have to move the monkey to where you think the angle is to win bananas. bloody silly really, but it's the first thing we've seen DS1 enjoy for ages so we're a bit addicted here

hope that description wasn't patronising (it's how DH had to explain it to me).

I so want to beat him

i can work the banana game now- dunno what i was thinking..i'm one of those people that hates reading instructions. i'm going to be great when it comes to christmas day aren't i? board games will be banned from my house..

Cocobear · 20/10/2007 00:27

Geeeez. I turn my back for a couple hours and there's another 70. Don't you all have some kids to go raise or something?

Aaaargh, yes, still in West Africa. Enjoyed my "break" in London this summer to have DD, but four months of washing my own dishes was almost more than I could take! I've just found out we're off to Brasilia next, and my first - unworthy- thought was, thank god at least we'll be able to afford a part-time cleaner there. I feared it would be Geneva or something, where I couldn't even afford cheese.

I think when you're away from the UK, you tend to idealise life there, and forget that it can actually be quite a struggle. Still, the parks were gorgeous, friends and family were wonderful, and I'd kill for a Sainsburys here!

LittleMissNorty · 20/10/2007 07:16

Oh Wow Cocobear...sounds nice travelling about like that

Ria...thanks for linking that site...done my daily clicks....what is worth mentioning is that there are 5 other tabs at the top of the page all needing clicks as well on that site...so have done my six for today!

Hope you all have good days...am hoping the weather stays good as I'm off to Greenwich and want a nice walk along the river..
