Hi. Just back from holiday. Will be LO's bedtime soon, and need to catch up but couldn't resist saying hi first

justbeme · 19/10/2007 18:55

Hi Jam - did you have a nice hol?

justbeme · 19/10/2007 18:56

Hi Cocobear!

fairyfay · 19/10/2007 18:56

Hi Jammy

LittleMissNorty · 19/10/2007 19:20

Evening All

Welcome back Jammy...hope hols were good. Did you miss us?

Good to see you again Cocobear....400 messages in 3 days is quiet for us

Welcome Clarabumps

I'm knackered. DD taken all 3 lots of ABs today in her milk and is fast asleep now till morning...DH off out for fish and chips as well so no cooking for me although I have just pureed and frozen loads of broccoli, leeks, courgettes and mash potato for the freezer...

LittleMissNorty · 19/10/2007 19:21

mmm I love McFlurrys ...but their chocolate milkshake is nothing like it used to be when I was a kid

milkyJammy · 19/10/2007 19:33

Hi again. Yes I missed you We both missed the internet actually - perhaps we're even more addicted than we realised. We thought from the blurb that the cottage had internet connection, but no (Actually a couple of things weren't as we expected, but they did let us have a 2 bed cottage for the price of a one bed to make up for it which gave us extra and much appreciated space). Overall holiday was good, though LO didn't sleep as well as at home, but that wasn't unexpected.

Haven't read all of the 400 messages, but see some about weaning etc. Haven't started as such, but have been letting LO lick bits of fruit and raw veg - apple, cucumber, pepper, banana. She seems to like it, certainly keeps licking until I take it away. And bought an ENORMOUS ice cube tray ready for freezing purees. We get a weekly veg box and are now pleased to have an outlet for when we get a bit of a surplus of something. Just hope she likes cauliflower

And nice to "meet" you cocobear. I wasn't with this group in the antenatal days, but my DD was obviously impatient and came along 5 weeks early, so I switched threads and landed here.

LittleMissNorty · 19/10/2007 19:44

Hi MJ - I was the same in Wales....you just don't realise how much PC is used until you haven't got it any more! We took the laptop so we could play games...I'm addicted to Tetris

I have JUST started DD on rice and pureed fruit just once a day and she loves it. She opens her mouth wide and gets really excited. I am giving her the whole of her bottle first and just a couple of teaspoons...will give her a bit more next week.

IME cottages are never quite how they are in the description (especially if you are taking a dog)...I've learnt to read inbetween the lines now!! Although having said that, the one I've just been to was lovely (and VERY small). This is where we went.

Ohh dinner has arrived...later x

justbeme · 19/10/2007 19:49

Oh that looks nice Charlie!
How did you "carry" Lo when walking on the moors, in a sling ?
What was there to do around there? Bet the wood burner was nice!

TA your fav seller has now started a thread about her parcels going missing!

LittleMissNorty · 19/10/2007 19:53

Yes JBM in a sling (with daddy!)

Plenty to do...we took our labrador, so a fair amount of time running him on all the lovely beaches, went to St Davids, Fishguard, loads of mills, chocolate factory, Aberyst..whatever its called....fantastic countryside and hill walking (although we are a bit unfit for that atm)!

OOhh link the thread JBM so I don't have to hunt

justbeme · 19/10/2007 19:55

Oh Im crap at linking!!!
It was in the active convos - last 15 mins

How you lot do all the here stuff, I'll never know!!

what did you do with the dog when you went in places where dogs werent allowed?

this one?

justbeme · 19/10/2007 20:00

ohh my fish and chips arrived!!!!!

milkyJammy · 19/10/2007 20:12

Charlie, the description said there was internet access but when we got there it turned out the internet access was if you went up to the owners' offices and used their computer, so OK if you wanted to check out something specific but not really good for chatting on here for example. Also it turned out that the description was for one of the cottages only, and not all the cottages had the same facilities, so we didn't get the dishwasher we were expecting. But the cottage was nice and we had a nice time so all was well.

milkyJammy · 19/10/2007 20:19

We have rented plenty of cottages over the years and this is the first one that didn't live up to expectations, so perhaps we've just been very lucky to date.

riabutterflew · 19/10/2007 20:42

hi jammy. welcome back.

Another quiet evening on here!

JBM - the idea was to start the day off with a long beach walk for the dog and get him completely knackered (he loves swimming) then he sleeps in the car while we're doing our bits...we've a large estate and the boot has got a double duvet in it so he is very comfortable . Sometimes we'll walk him with us on the lead...depends how busy it is and whether we can face it...he is hard work on the lead but good as gold off it...but no way could we walk him around the streets without a lead!

fairyfay · 19/10/2007 20:46

isn't it quiet with so many people on holiday?

LittleMissNorty · 19/10/2007 20:48

There are also a lot of people just "not around" as well...

milkyJammy · 19/10/2007 20:48

Oooh, and proud mummy alert - she started turning book pages herself this week. I had to lift the page a little to give her a corner to get hold of easily but then she was turning them over herself (Well, some of the time anyway)

LittleMissNorty · 19/10/2007 20:49

You're new pics were lovely Faylisa....

riabutterflew · 19/10/2007 20:49

LittleMissNorty · 19/10/2007 20:55

Ria - I told you I was being thick yesterday...just worked out how to play it ... and found 3 bananas
