can't help with either daisy, sorry.

can you wear your wedge boots, so leaving room to pack your heels?

as for DD, babies need LOADS of clothes, cos if the puke a couple of times and need changing...

I am in denial about packing for my break with the GPs (if DM lets me go!) because a)most of it is still in the dirty laundry basket (I had to wear a SKIRT last night because my decent jeans need washing) and b) I don't DO travelling light (need spares of everything, except for me, but I'm so fat my few clothes take up far too much room!)

S Slept from 6.30pm - 7.30am

He has his jabs today. DH is taking him. Because I get paid on a daily rate and DH is salaried, he usually ends up doing all the 'time off' things.

Elsbells · 18/10/2007 08:52

Morning Fury
How lucky are you? How many hrs was DS asleep for....bet you feel refreshed today!!!

In a funny way you are lucky that DH has to do the baby time off stuff as he is salaried. When I was working we had to battle it out on who had to take time off. I usually "lost" as DH has a client facing role and was harder for him to get out of work.

Still made my life hard to be the one to ask my boss for time off. She had a nanny and didn't understand if I had to take time to take DS to Dr's or stay home if he was sick.

Are you still enjoying being at work?

HellHathNoFury · 18/10/2007 08:52

righty ho who wants to help me spends some money?

I got a £25 amazon gift voucher for my birthday but I don't know what to get!
I don't play computer games (if only I had the time), I don't keep DVDs or CD's, I don't have time to read novels, I need ideas!

HellHathNoFury · 18/10/2007 08:57

I don't feel refreshed as I was still up at 5.30 for work!
But at least he slept well. Apparently DH said the only reason he woke up at all was a nappy leak! Damn disposables!

yes we are lucky with DH's job they are very flexible. My job is not flexible at all, I had to almost sacrifice my dog to the Gods of New Media to get to leave an hour early tomorrow.

Our CM would take him but there are some things we like to keep doing ourselves. Otherwise we feel a bit crap, like why did we have a baby just to have someone else raise him? So we do as much as we can.

Did I tell you about our CM? OMG I had to cancel our place at nursery. What a palava.

How are you today ElsBells?

Elsbells · 18/10/2007 09:21

Great attitude about doing as much as you can. I totally agree.

What happened w/your CM then? You girls talk so fast on this thread I feel out of the loop already.

I am doing as best as anyone can with a DS throwing CONSTANT tantrums and a teething DD. Friday night I am treating myself to some very large glasses of wine. Very large.

TBH, I can't wait for DS to turn 3. He's really testing my patience.

HellHathNoFury · 18/10/2007 09:22

Elsbells · 18/10/2007 09:31

OMG
you have truly gone mad

It must be having to be up at 5:30am. That is just wrong wrong wrong....remember when you could actually have a lie-in on the weekends.

In fact, what is a lie-in now? For us, it's 8am or something sad like that.

HellHathNoFury · 18/10/2007 09:36

I admire you ladies with more than 1. I had to escape to the office after only having 1, you ladies deserve a medal.

My CM has got so attached to DS that when I told her he was starting nursery in Jan she had a bit of an episode and started crying.
erm.

So DH and I discussed it and decided that he can stay with her for longer as we are happy with her. There are lots of other reasons too but there are pros and cons to both really.
Anyway CM is happy now.

MNHQ deleted my angry rants at the woman that owes me money

Elsbells · 18/10/2007 09:50

Oh how funny. So you kinda got in trouble from MNHQ? Must feel like being told off by the headmistress.

CM cried? Wow. If you are happy with her then let DS stay. My DS was 8m when I went back to normal life, I mean work, and TBH until they reach 1yr, they aren't exactly hanging out and interacting w/other kids so I didn't see the benefit of social interaction until he was older anyway.

I am still not sure if I am going back to work this time round.
I am bloody glad I did w/DS. We got move from our stunning 1 bed to our a 2 bed. When the hell did 2beds become as expensive as some houses?!?!

And I think going back to work gave me some confidence back if that makes sense.

It must be nice to chat to adults about non-baby stuff.

Elsbells · 18/10/2007 09:51

Does anyone at work want your amazon voucher? Sell it to them? Seems such a waste.

Elsbells · 18/10/2007 09:58

Right Fury
I am going to do the unthinkable and get ready and put makeup on before I go out to run my errands.

Have a good morning at work and will sign on later.

This site IS addictive.

HellHathNoFury · 18/10/2007 09:59

I will keep the voucher as amazon sells almost anything... I just need some inspiration!
If I have cash it will only go on nappies/formula/whatever and I guess defeats the object

Work isn't bad actually. I am just knackered. I like having my own money and contributing again!

foxystein · 18/10/2007 10:22

Use it to buy some Annabel Karmel books on feeding wee ones perhaps?

Hello all.

Thanks for your kind wishes yesterday. Reading back, my text to Derlor sounded a bit abrupt! Sorry, wasn't meant to be

DS1 is doing OK, but has a catheter and bag and is mighty uncomfortable. We came home yesterday evening. It was OK. Pleased to say they didn't do a cirumcision in the end, but redid the repair from scratch (so basically doing the same op he had when he was 2). Hope this is it, the worst bit is when they use the gas to put him to sleep - took 3 of us to hold him still. It was horrid.

Still, the promise of a big fuck-off PowerRangers toy seems to help poorly children!

It is funny reading back through the convo that goes on on this thread (agree, Fury, you have lost it!! ).

Have a lovely holiday Daisy! You deserve a break x

HellHathNoFury · 18/10/2007 10:31

hello foxy!
Glad DS is ok. Must be awful holding the gas

I will have you know I am NOT mental. Just ... a little screwy perhaps

andiem · 18/10/2007 10:38

hols on sunday sun sun sun yeah......

Sputnik · 18/10/2007 10:39

Hi Foxy, glad it went ok yesterday.

Sputnik · 18/10/2007 10:43

I feel for you Andiem. DD was a crap sleeper. Baby Sputnik is pretty good luckily. I coped with DD by doing co-sleeping, it was the best thing I ever did! What are your sleeping arrangements?

foxystein · 18/10/2007 10:46

we had a crappy night too. Funnily enought DS1 slept really well, but in our bed. DD1 wanted to 'see him' at 2am. Just when DD2 wanted a feed. DP and DS2 are peas in a pod - both could sleep standing on their heads at the bottom of the garden!

Did you have more posts deleted Fury? Or from the thread a week or so ago?

God I'm boooooooored. Am watching a lot of Walking with Beasts/Dinosaurs and Horrid Henrys today.

foxystein · 18/10/2007 10:47

and thanks Fury, Sputnik and Andiem!

andiem · 18/10/2007 10:58

sputnik he was sleeping 7 till 5.30 but now is waking very 2 hours past midnight. I think he is having his 4 mth spurt. He is in the cot next to me but I aa not averse to leaving him in the bed iykwim. I think it is the shock of being woken again I feel a bit psycho

riabutterflew · 18/10/2007 11:07

hi foxy. glad all went well.

When ds1 was about 7 he had to have a lump removed from his eye. He jumped off the trolley at anaesthetic time, I think there were five or six of us sitting on him so the poor bloke could get the needle in. I don't think i've ever done anything so evil. my sister works in another hospital in the trust and apparently ds is a bit of a legend, and the anaesthetist hasn't been the same since. we can laugh about it now...
