Hello

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Right I have a book to read and studying to do. See you all tomorrow probably! x

elkiedee · 15/10/2007 21:57

rh, I didn't think you sounded bigheaded, reading your posts I felt angry for you that your boss has messed about so much (I remember him suddenly playing games over paying you too) and I also think that it's terrible that your experience of wanting to work part time is so difficult re what level you can work at and the agencies' attitude. It sounds really crap for you.

Are there any public or voluntary sector employers near you with a more positive attitude to pt or jobshare working and office/admin/customer service managers? I know that doesn't always work either - tends to vary according to depts and individual managers, but maybe you have a bit more protection from the whims of individuals like your boss.

elkiedee · 15/10/2007 22:00

Happy anniversary runny, and goodnight to those on their way to bed. Anyone still here?

fangsandflash · 15/10/2007 22:06

antm is way too addictive! One of them - the blonde one is very scary indeed!

runny - what a nightmare with your job Your boss probably didn't want to say anything a) as you were on maternity leave b) until he knew your job may be jeopardised. He's probably having a totally crap time too - they do still need to go through all the right procedures though despite you being on maternity leave.

Off to sleep now - fingers crossed for a sleep through!

xxx

weepotion · 15/10/2007 22:08

fangs - i agree - renee - scary lady!

fangsandflash · 15/10/2007 22:10

I keep thinking she is going to stab someone! She is such a horrible person - my skin crawls! And they always use her talking about the others .... yyeueueueueeeerrrrrkkkkkk (thats my skin crawling off to bed)

VamPesha · 15/10/2007 22:13

I think it was not so much the difference of opinion but the way that that was expressed iyswim but that is just my impression, I was not here saturday night so I dont really know. I'm hoping to convince Ellie that this is a big chatty thread with lots of lovely people where she is well loved and she should come back sooner rather than later!! Although beginning to think I need to a computer break for a few nights, dp is feeling a little neglected I think.

My mixed emotions would be because it would be a relief to have a diagnosis of something and to be able to treat it (hopefully) and to have to no longer feel responsible (and I feel other people also think I am to blame) for his slow weight gain but at the same time sad that he has been in pain all this time and nothing done about it and angry that I've mentioned all the relevant symptoms to so many drs and hvs and nothing has been done and he's suffered unnecessarily as a result and so have I with all the stress, pressure and guilt.

D btw is in size 2 tescos own nappies!

CaptainDippy · 15/10/2007 23:11

I can't even get a p/t job in Tesco.

PillockInTheCommunity · 15/10/2007 23:30

elkiedee · 15/10/2007 23:33

PillockInTheCommunity · 15/10/2007 23:45

weepotion · 15/10/2007 23:47

lol pillock!
luce - i joined grassroots but never make it in time to get the assignments - they are snapped up within 3 minutes in glasgow! if youre not at your computer - you dont get them - bah!

PillockInTheCommunity · 15/10/2007 23:47

Hello all
I am here, I haven't been, but I am here very briefly now.

Luce, I have earnt lots from Grassroots since you posted the link, so thank you, but I do think it depends whether they have people in your area as to whether they bother to respond to you IYSWIM

I went to A&E, they checked me over and dispatched me, then went to doc today to get in on file that I was injured, as Insurance company advised me to.
My hire car is huuuge, meriva compared to my tiiiiny alto
have already come very close to hitting a parked car when reversing out of space at doctors, was only Skott shouting that stopped me
I won't be around for a while, not sure how long, but it is nice to know how much you all love me, am crying now for various reasons, have read some things I wish I hadn't had to see, and some that have been really sweet
xx

elkiedee · 15/10/2007 23:52

Hey, tomorrow's a new day, stick around/come back.

PillockInTheCommunity · 15/10/2007 23:54

quite glad now I paid the collision waver ...............

Lucewitch · 15/10/2007 23:55

Pillock, glad that grassroots has helped.

We are all here for you and will always offer non-hugs.
Understand if you need a break but I will be thinking of you. You have done so much good on this thread and lots of people are very fond of you.

Hope that you come back soon xx.

weepotion · 16/10/2007 00:13

PillockInTheCommunity · 16/10/2007 00:24

right ladies, time to go again, off to get myself some sensible footwear and a pension plan............

MurderousMaveta · 16/10/2007 05:56

Morning [bleary] I always seem to miss the busy time on here..

Fangs - I can´t believe your friend, how weird?! and how RUDE.

Pesha - I hope the gaviscon helps little D feel better, poor lad. Good luck re. the job!

Thanks for the advice re. nightwear/temperature. Will try out various approaches that you´ve all suggested. Whereas some of you seem to have hot little babies I think N (like me) tends towards cool (in so many ways. har har). 16 does seem cold doesn´t it? In autumn/winter there can be a big discrepancy in day and night temp especially in the house, I think it is because the houses have no insulation and tile floors. We don´t keep the window open now although we did in summer, we´re on the first floor so not too worried about people climbing in and stealing him The windows to his room are a bit crap though and don´t stop all the wind so mum and I are going to set about making thick winter curtains this week. Well, you know. I´ll buy the fabric and then let her do them

Luce - YAY re. cloth nappies! Enjoy!

IDOC - good luck with moving, seems like quite a few of us on here are looking at that at the moment, I´m glad I´m not one of them.. we´ve been here for a year and after moving here there and everywhere for the last few years I´d really like to stay put for a while!

Liath - re. food and gps.. remember the other day I posted a link and someone on here said ´who would feel the urge to give a baby tea?¨ well blow me down if I didn´t go see my parents that pm and dad goes "ooh he´ll be able to have a drop of tea in his bottle soon"! I said no way, why on earth would a baby need tea? Why? He got all defensive and said we liked it. Luckily mum jumped in and said yes but that was now and this is then and things change. WHY WHY WHY would you want a baby to have a caffeinated drink?

well i was on a roll there but ds getting whingy so off to see if i can settle him again...

MurderousMaveta · 16/10/2007 06:02

Quick one -

Eddas very brave for cutting his hair.. i do love n´s hair but could do with snipping the wispier bits but am scared i´d make a mess of it!

flash - love how much you worry about your boys´ scrotum temp! lol

runny - very shitty of your boss, fingers crossed it works out for you x

SharpMolarBear · 16/10/2007 08:33

morning
Pesha - not strapping him in!! Why do I always miss the obvious solutions??
Pesha, sorry to be dim, has D had his paed appt yet? Couldn't tell from your post.
Pillock, I didn't realise you'd been in an accident, you didn't mention it the other day! Hope you're OK.
Good news about Eva feeding, i didn't know but it does make sense that if she is able to do that then it's a positive step.
Tesco own nappies here - size 4, even tho they're too big, they catch the leaks!
Speaking of which...stinky time! Won't be on today as meeting a friend, setting off in 25 mins (not going to happen!) See you all tonight or tomorrow
