Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsCarrot · 22/10/2007 17:50

er, it was a book! 1.99 as well as overdue fine.

Christmas spreadsheets??

EandH - I bow to you.

eandh · 22/10/2007 18:55
  1. no dp is useless he never picks anything up/cleans/helps (in fact more of a pain when he is here as he can't just use one plate to make lunch!)

  2. No cleaner - couldn't let anyone else do it as it wouldn't be my way

  3. No pa just all my diaries/notebooks

  4. No drugs either!!

Yep I work monday and fridays and do have 2 kids but also inherited my mums organisational skills and grew up with a very houseproud mum so I suppose it just rubbed of onto me. Ellie is allowd as many toys as she wants out but knows they are only allowed in her playroom or lounge and she knows what she gets out she puts away. When I start cooking dinner she starts tidying toys then has one toy (or set of toys) out till dinenr time and then all toys away before bath and after bath is books only. I have a routine and as long as I follow that I don't find it to much work (ask eddas I sometimes go to hers and help her!!) I truly believe its how you grow up - eddas mum was abit of a hoarder and so is eddas (till i go round and maker her throw things away) and my mum was very organised/houseproud and so am I!!

MrsCarrot · 22/10/2007 18:58

Blimey - that is serious organisation. Though, my Mother is worse than me so I guess it's not my fault

Lizzzombie · 22/10/2007 19:14

So agree on point number 1!
I love him dearly...but, please...dont leave that there, or put that there...he makes the house messy in 0-5 seconds!

Well, I try to be organised and neat and tidy, and do have a semblence of a routine. But I know I could do more, as extra things always need doing...like cleaning windows and cleaning the oven. Both long overdue jobs!
And I know I spend too much time on the computer. In fact if I didnt go on it at all, I'd get so much more done!

Lizzzombie · 22/10/2007 19:16

eah - please tell us you have at least one skanky secret...like you wear your pants for 2 days in a row, or you have the same toothbrush for a year...or you buy all ready meals!

eandh · 22/10/2007 19:22

UMMMMMMM well the seal on our bathroom needs to be taken off and redone as where I havent dried it properly it has a few black marks

ps no we all have clean underwear daily (in fact we all have clean pj's daily!) and I replace toothbrushes every 3 months as ellie loves choosing new one!

eandh · 22/10/2007 19:32

the otehr thing re bigger jobs is that I have a list (surprise) in my notebook so if its a rain day I may clean the windows inside, if I wait till hattie has her morning sleep and ellie is at preschool I can do most of the insode windows within an hour. Things like oven is to do a better clean each weekend so if I do roast on sunday i will automatically take all the bits off the hob and scrub them and clean hob thoroughly (it gets wiped over every night after I wash up) and then I take the shelves out of oven weekly quick scrub and quick whizz round the oven with some bicarb or mr muscle and its done, may take extra 15mins but means I never have to do a 'BIG' clean.

Some of my other quirks

  1. always always wash and dry up after every meal

  2. if you have used it - clean it ie kithen/bathroom (i clean both every day but its a 10min job as its mainly wiping over not scrubbing)

  3. always hang clothes up

  4. I do washing most days and will iron at least every other day this means I often only have to iron for 20mins and its done and no piles of ironing

5)I change beds most weeks - strip beds as soon as you get up and then make them with spare sheets straight away takes 5 mons and its done

  1. I get up and make tea for me and get milk for e and h but whilst kettle boiling I get breakfast bowls/cereals etc out

  2. as soon as everyone had their morning drink I get e and h washed and dressed, make their beds (ellie has to help me do hers) sort out blinds/curtains. E comes downstairs to play/atch tv and then I shower whilst hattie plays in my room. Get dressed/dry hair/do makeup (takes about 10mins to do all 3) make my bed and then downstairs

  3. Have spare set of cleaning stuff upstairs I often polish the bannisters/our room etc whilst I wait for my bath to run

  4. Get all our clothe sout the night before so I know everything is ironed and ready (Also ellie dresses herself so stops any arguments as she knows whats out is what she wears)

eandh · 22/10/2007 19:33

shame I can't type as well as I can organise

Eddas · 22/10/2007 19:38

pmsl at you EAH 'ere have you seen the other EAH on here

This woman is SERIOUSLY -anal- organised about things, makes me feel seriously crap BUT she is right my mum was not one for throwing anything away and it has rubbed off on me. EAH came round the other week and helped sort dd's toys as I am terrible at doing it as I keep everything Bless her I think I was a tad erm difficult

eandh · 22/10/2007 19:41

oh babe you are wonderful as you are (and your house is looking fab after all your decorating and like you said it'll look great when your lounge is done (and persuade d to get rid of all the furniture you don't want!!)

I wish I could 'not' be so organised at times but its ingrained in me now!

Eddas · 22/10/2007 19:42

that should say anal but i'm being crap at the tounge in cheek biz today

MUST PREVIEW MY MESSAGES

eandh · 22/10/2007 19:44

my name is eandh and I am a cleaning/organsied addict maybe I should set up a support group

Eddas · 22/10/2007 19:45

ah shucks thanks

I am TRYING to be better, but there's 25 years of being used to cluttering to undo. But i will not keep things I don't need anymore. Thing is I just can't throw it away. MIL has told me about a place to take stuff where they only give it to those who need it so I will be sorting stuff to go there hopefully soon!

Shimmer · 22/10/2007 20:01

Ummm... you all wear clean pjs every night EAH?? Wow! You must have a lot of pjs....

Ohohoh i hope you get a job in Ann Summers Lizz. Bet you'd have some good stories to tell!

must dash as i start work tomorrow (AHHHHHHHHHH.......) and i have about a gazillion things to organise for DP and F's first whole day (well, 8 hours) together. I'm really excited and a bit nervous at the same time.

eandh · 22/10/2007 20:03

eddas is that the place near me (beacon?) if so they took alot of chris's nan stuff and collected it!!

Shimmer I have loads of pj's from primark!! and good luck for tomorrow

WeeWitchyWilkie · 22/10/2007 20:12

Point 8 - ABSOLUTELY PMSLROFLLOLLMAO

You are SO funny and scarily anal (but please come and live with me...)

RGEEnie · 22/10/2007 20:25

Good luck tomorrow Shimmer!!!

Eah - now organised is my middle name but not on the ew pj's each night scale

eandh · 22/10/2007 20:27
Blush
MrsCarrot · 22/10/2007 20:27

She doesn't need a lot of pyjamas, Shimmer, the washing is done every day.

I feel more organised just reading your posts, EAH, I find myself nodding earnestly taking mental notes, particularly with point 8. I always go off and forget my bath is running then it's too cold/full etc. If only I had a duster upstairs it would save me coming down to read something do the dusting then all would be ok.

eandh · 22/10/2007 20:31

now I think one of you is going to turn up at my door to spot check me!! (actually the only person who doesnt think my house is over clean is my mum she always finds soemthing i have missed )

gobletofblood · 22/10/2007 20:34

Ok organised mum website looks very interesting....

E&H - PMSL laughing at your quirks although today over lunch another girl at work( who I know likes washing) and I had a lovely chat about ashing powder and fabric softener. I am a fan of tesco naturals at the moment, she was surprised that I used fairy powder as she said non-bio doesn;t get baby stains out. Not sure what kind of stains her ds makes!!
Hey your shopping trip in London sounds good too, am surprised you have anything left to buy though!

Shimmer - hope tomorrow goes ok

MIL had Ellen today for first time on her own and they seem to have had a lovely time. It wasn't so bad after all!

am feeling tired again

Lizz - I have used tixylix that E&H recommended. Seemed to help.

eandh · 22/10/2007 20:40

never use non bio anymore as it stopped getting all the stains out when ellie started feeding herself (that seems a looong time ago) i use aerial or tesco's own

Lizzzombie · 22/10/2007 20:44

Good luck tomorrow Shimmer. Will be thinking of you.

Eah - Like I said I am in awe of you!

DP picked up some calpolcough or whatever its called and when he wakes up in the middle of the night I'll syringe some of it into his mouth. (LO, not DP!)

Talking of pyjamas...Primark have got some fabulous, yes, fabulous darling leapard print ones with a pink trim. I love them, and as soon as its payday I am so buying them!

So..does anyone else have any tips to rival EaH's??

Is there another EaH? Or am I being a div?

Lizzzombie · 22/10/2007 20:46

I use Persil Non Bio, but use Vanish liquid on all the baby stains. Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesnt!

Carrots, sweetpotato, baby food all seems to be orange, thats what I find stains the worst!

Although, brought an oilcloth bib from Cath Kidston recently (rah rah rah, pony club etc!) and its a godsend. Wipe clean at the end of the meal and no more orange stains!

gobletofblood · 22/10/2007 20:49

I clean the bathroom while Ellen sits playing with her toys in the bath. I was so pleased with myself the first time I thought of it.
