Well I met nice mum in the park and we had a talk.It turns out that theres some events she hasnt known about.Such as it was one of the girls wedding on Saturday and everyone but us was invited.Nice mum overheard the conversation about them going on Thursday like me.
So we was talking for about 15 minutes then one of the clique turned up at the park so we didnt get to talk properly.
I have now been invited to the new Facebook group but there are still events they have arranged and I know nothing about so I posted on there asking about them.
Honestly its like being back at school.
Nice mum would like to have more playdates though so thats good.

I'm behind again

Eids that was scarey. Hope you've both recovered from the shock. My poor DD has had two bumps in the last few days. She got the first while DH was watching her and the second this evening. I was trying to put her in her gym when she went all stiff and flipped herself over, and managed to bash her face on my stool. Silence first, then a real sobbing scream/ cry that went on for ages [bad mother emoticon]. She has a bruise on one cheek.

My lovely happy smiley baby has been replaced by a wriggling screaming frustrated monster. She doesn't want to be on my lap and wriggles and arches her back. Put her on the floor and she screams. Every 2 minutes she's got herself stuck somewhere and is screaming. Can't go to the loo without her screaming (and the bathroom is next to the livingroom).

Hoping to get to Brighton too!

morocco · 15/10/2007 22:49

hope you are both ok eids, what a shock,it's terrible when your ankle goes just like that. poor little dd3.
shanks - glad things are getting sorted out, i hate that school playground feeling

i need to ask you all a question . . . i posted it separately then thought of you all. can you tell me if your babies can stick their tongues out or not? it's not desperately important but i'm just wondering cos dd never sticks hers out (you know, copying me kind of thing) and i've never really seen it pop out past her top lip but then maybe you just don't with small babies? i can't remember. so can you all test your babies for me and let me know

kittywitch · 16/10/2007 07:31

Morocco, I just tried it. The boy laughed at me and turned away! He's never really been a tongue poker tough.

Covenhope, great you're coming down! Has your dd turned into Ronnie then . He's forever.shuffling himself into some corner and getting stuck. He also bashes his head regularly throughout the day! He also screams a decent amount, but is getting just a tad better. Although he's started complaining when I leave the room.

Mossy · 16/10/2007 08:01

Eids you poor thing, and your poor dd3, although I am for you about the way you got questioned. Then again I suppose they are only doing their job. Still it's not nice though.

Morocco, Bertie is always sticking his tongue out. Why do you ask, you don't suspect tongue-tie or something do you?

Sazzy, Bertie hasn't had a dummy in ages... sounds great doesn't it? Nope it's because he started refusing it a while back and now will only have a nipple.

Am thinking of trying out Foxie's "controlled crying".

Shanks they sound a bit silly that group of girls, yes, like being back at school I suppose. Can you and the other nice Mum just ditch them?

Bethoo completely forgot to send you link to March group on FB, will do that today!!

Sazzy have you tried cutting most of the stalk off your mooncup? I found it uncomfortable until I did that.

Bertie still a bit poorly so have knocked weaning on the head for a few days so he only gets my milk until he is recovered. Poor little chap.

Right off to have my porridge... omg forgot to tell everyone, dh still off work with his eye but he has turned back into the old pre-Bertie dh that I once knew... he has been great, doing stuff around the house without being asked, he apologised the other day for how crappy he'd been over everything in the early days, all that kind of thing, I don't know if it's the ADs or just him not being in work or a mixture of both but whatever it is, I hope the change is permanent!!

eidsvold · 16/10/2007 10:23

well dd3 is fine today - my arm and ankle are still sore.

been doing more family research and learnt that my french great grandfather served in the Australian army in WW1. Very cool as I was able to access his military records and view them online. Poor man - was sent to fight on the Western front not far from where he was born and ended up being gassed quite severely. Sent to Exeter and then Harefield in england to recover. Poor g-grandmother simply got a telegram (copy in his records) that states he was gassed - eventually another telegram arrived to say he was being sent to england and that he was convalescing but man that original one must have been a shocker.

Mossy - glad to hear dh is on the UP. may it long continue.

bethoo · 16/10/2007 10:33

Morocco - Little man never pokes his tongue out either, he does not lick his lips either but i suppose it comes later! he had tongue tie at birth but it was cut.

Foxy - yes i try and get to the gym mon - thurs, i had to change to the Rifles gym (army) as the Signals one would not let me take baby in. yesterday i was there for two hours but little man was screaming blue murder so did not get much done! bit embarrassing having soldiers ask if i am alright! went home feeling stressed and blobby!

covenhope · 16/10/2007 12:23

kitty, isn't it frustrating?! I've got one of those rocking nursing chair with stool combos and she just won't stay away from the stool. When she isn't clonking her face on it or getting stuck on it she's kicking it so that everything falls off the top.

I may need to take you up on your offer of a bed please- is that OK? What are the plans for the meet-up?

bethoo · 16/10/2007 12:47

eidsvold - i would be interested in my familys' ancestory. how do you go about it? on the internet?

covenhope · 16/10/2007 12:51

While I think about it, what are the babies getting for Xmas?

MIL said to DD yesterday "we'll have to get you something nice". AAArrrrggghhh- MIL's idea of "something nice" is usually a huge pile of garishly coloured plastic that we don't have room for; something far too old for her (think "not suitable for under 36 months") or an outfit I wouldn't put her in if everything else she owned was in the wash!

What can I ask for? Help!!

Piffle · 16/10/2007 12:55

Sorry been off mn for a few days after a minor over reaction and mini flounce
But saw the error of my ways

Been v stressful here and still is so, dd was back to school yesterday only to them come down with vomiting bug at 3am last night
Sleeping it off today.

But enough of me
Shanks I think you are top to go after them and find out what's happening - I'm hopeless I'd just walk away thinking what a bunch of nasty bitches
No wonder i have so few RL friends LOL

eids glad dd is ok hope you recover soon too, very scary

I cannot come to Brighton after all that as dp's work and dd's birthday party dates all clashed as his work (see stresses as above) have gone and changed his holiday days
Am so cross but oh groundhog day...

covenhope · 16/10/2007 12:57

bethoo I've done my family tree, mainly on the internet. You can get a free trial period to Ancestry.co.uk to start you off. Other sites are lostcousins.co.uk and familysearch.org (Mormons) (both free to search), or genesreunited.co.uk which charge £10 for 6 months. That one is easy to find living relatives on but I'm not convinced it's accurate- you've got someone else's sayso that their tree is correct. It is very easy to make assumptions and go merrily off down the wrong route- I've done it with a couple of my lines and had to backtrack.

The easiest period to trace is from 1837 to 1901 because you have the census available every 10 years and the birth marriage and death info is almost complete. The hardest period is 1902 to 1983 because hardly any of it has been transcribed and it takes hours to search.

24 October Brighton Bash:

Kitty
Kiwi
Covenhope
Foxie

Any more takers??

Kitty - behave!! - you naughty thing (or rather mind reader)

Morocco - I will test Monti's tongue poking skills when I get home

Monti gets about a lot know, sort of cambat style, wiggling along the floor. We will need stair gates soon. He was reallygiggly last night and wouldn't go to sleep - kept climbing on me while I was in bed, and giggling I was trying to ignore him but he was toocute to ignore.

foxensteinscreature · 16/10/2007 13:01

Shanks all Monti wants for Christmas is his two top front teeth!!

He's had the bottom two for ages but no sign of any more.

I think you have made a nice friend in that woman you met in the park. The others sound quite childish though I agree you should cultivate the nice one, and with the others just play it by ear and decide at some point whether its worth all the hassle trying to keep up with their silly secretive behaviour

LunarScream · 16/10/2007 13:15

For xmas Toby will mostly be getting used toys! A pull/push along wagon, a gobbling hippo, an elephant and a giraffe to go with the collection of peek a blocks we've already got. He might get the train and/or the dumper truck which go with them too if I manage to find any cheap enough before Christmas. I figure as he's not big enough to understand that new toys come in packaging he won't care! And as ds1's getting a new racing bike there's not a lot left in the budget for abay toys which will be outgrown pretty soon.

He'll also no doubt get premium bonds from one lot of grandparents (safe bet becasuse that's what they get ds1 every year), and some sort of toy from the other set (possibly something musical so he'll be able to play with it now and still use it for a while more).

ds1 has bought him a "my first thomas" circle of track with Thomas and Percy (I guess we might add a Toby if we run across one!) - bought with his pocket money at local car boot sale. Quite sweet as it's the first year he's really got into choosing and buying presents himself.

Piffle · 16/10/2007 13:18

lunar we've got the wagon and giraffe for the peekablocks from when dd had them
Finn loves them

Did you say you had spare blocks as I've lost quite a few of ours...

LunarScream · 16/10/2007 13:22

Piffle - we've got at least 20 duplicate blocks (possibly a few more after the weekend) if you want some. How many are you looking for?

Piffle · 16/10/2007 13:34

probably about 10 I guess we have a few but need more

LunarScream · 16/10/2007 13:36

Since we're talking Christmas I've just been looking for toys for Christmas for suggestions for the other set of grandparents/my brother/my gran to get him - and am very tempted by a Wheelybug. It'll be a little big at Christmas (says from age 1) but it would be the sort of toy I can imagine he'd play with for a long time. I suppose I could always get one for his birthday.

LunarScream · 16/10/2007 13:42

Piffle - You'd better let me know which ones you've already got and I'll sort them out after the weekend and try to pick out some different ones for you.

kittywitch · 16/10/2007 14:50

a ha christmas. Well I went and got 2 master's laser screwdrivers today. Argos extra had then but they're not even listed in the catalogue So, I shall not be stressing over that now, I can turn my attentions to be stressing over something else

Ronnie will be getting boy toys as I chucked the whole lot away and need to restock

kittywitch · 16/10/2007 14:50

Covenhope, of course you can stay with us

Calliween · 16/10/2007 16:12

Lunar, Piffle - How much are the peekablocks? They look quite good. Haven't really got many toys for DS and am looking for things that are age-appropriate and stimulating but will last for a bit.

Shanks - glad you are getting somewhere with nice mum.

Mossy, glad things are going well with dh. I bet being off for a while has made him realise how much you do with Bertie, as well as relaxing him a bit if he was stressed before, obviously.

Can't do Brighton, going to Scotland tomorrow for a week, also 24th is sister's birthday. Hope you have a great time whoever goes.

Screamy baby, gotta go.

LunarScream · 16/10/2007 17:53

Callie - new the blocks are usually about £6-£7 for 6, but Woolworths have an offer at the moment of 15 blocks plus the train for £14.99. The ones I'm selling will be less than that of course.

foxensteinscreature · 16/10/2007 20:58

Lunar DD had a wheelie but and loved it until another girl broke it They are great (the girl was very strong and very ASBO)
