I hope all the sickies are better. Everything is very peacefull with me at the moment. I'm getting into the christmas spirit. hmm must start thinking of a name...

Hasan is up probably 3 times a night and ds2 usually up once a night but I'm getting just enough sleep to feel okay. So I have no intention of trying to change anything just going with the flow.
I am totally besotted with Hasan and all my kiddies and very aware how lucky I am at the moment. He continues to be a really easy baby who hardly cries (do I sound smug at all? )

Snoosnoo I feel the same about the coil but I'm just hoping it doesn't work that way with me and the copper kills all the sperm. It could be used alongside the rythmn method to avoid fertilisation
It's just the best method possible for me, not that I ever see my dh anyway!

I would still like to lose a stone but too lazy to do anything about it yet and it's coming up to Christmas!

Anyone know where Dolly got to? I miss her

fitfox · 24/11/2007 10:57

Hello

Rosy -Did Dolly return to work I can't remember? If I can fin her number I'll text her bt I think it was on the mobile I lost....

MrSlocomb- Monti has that as his default setting a lot of the time too - I think I smell like his favourite meal :

Hi Muppet [waves]

Callieco · 24/11/2007 12:38

There have been a lot of fallings off, so to speak, from the thread. Was wondering how Leo's getting on with double trouble, I guess that's why she doesn't post any more. And Laidback, and where's Sazzy got to recently too? Jay and Shanks are both pretty quiet but maybe they're on ante-natal threads now (again!).

I went out last night with my coffee group for a meal, then when that finished I met up with some current and former workmates and have a few celebratory drinks at losing our manager. Seriously, I feel like a different person knowing I won't have to work with her - it's a sad thing to say but no-one likes her. Just feel sorry for the poor saps she's going to be in charge of next year.

Anyhoo, enough of that. I think I got in and had three hours before DS woke up at 5 for milk, and I really thought he wasn't going to go off again until I cuddled him in to me and we both fell asleep together. It was dead nice. Not feeling too bad today either despite the winter gloom and this hanging around cold/chest/throat/not quite sure what thingy I've got.

spongecake · 24/11/2007 21:42

have made loads of mince pies ready for visitors tomorrow, and prepped all the lunch. now, need a swimsuit for baby swimming! i'm thinking full length body condom people just coo over the baby's fat thighs and blanch at mine. so unfair!

am feeling v christmassy as well rosy, keep singing jingles etc.

callie, i tried to get my baby to sleep with me this morning but he just cried until i got up. he only likes to sleep with dh.

DeathBySnooSnoo · 24/11/2007 21:59

Grrrr @ bloody colds/teeth/bugs.Elsie is unwell again, very bunged up and unsettled and hot.

rosy-i dont think i could do the rhythmn method as the only time i feel like doing owt is when im ovulating.

i think i may have an infection as i am spotting/bleeding and have alot of pain, and its nowhere near my af.last time i had an infection with the coil they removed it and i ended up with dd2.i will tell them that if they want to remove my coil they had better remove my womb as well.there is no way im being left unprotected.

of course i'm glad it happened back then as dd2 is my wonderful little princess.she and Elsie were fighting over choclate yesterday,Elsie was trying to nick dd2's magic stars and all you could hear was 'no!mine!'

hello to everybody and ((((hugs))))

Piffle · 24/11/2007 22:01

Callie sounds like you've got what we've had
Thank god Finn seems to be back to himself a lot more
PHEW!
He is crawling now, half proper crawling and then commando crawling, he then crawls to me and climbs up to standing...
I see my baby period is over, this kid wants to be running...

I'm still feeling very sinusy but have nasal spray now and that is helping.

Dp and I have made a lot of decisions in the last few days. Dull but thank god the worrying is over
Basic plan - flog this place soon - next few mths if poss, buy another 4 bed house 70k cheaper (yep tis poss here we are v lucky) and start plunging money into overpaying
Plus dp wants to retrain to be part time motorbike instructor, if is is sustainable as career, he might over next few years swap over as I return to work after retraining

So big question is... what do I train as/do degree in?

Hmmm
Hope the very hungry babies, give their mums a break, ds1 was like that and oh twas draining

fitfox · 24/11/2007 22:57

Hi all

Snoo 'tis funny how even babies know how special chocolate is. Hope your infection gets sorted quickly. Can't they leave it installed and just give you ABs?

OMG I can't find the Medised !!!

eidsvold · 25/11/2007 03:36

wow - you go away for a few days and i am so far behind the news I don't think I will ever catch up.

Sorry Mrs S - hope whatever decision is made that things will get better.

Co-sleeping. Well dd3 is still in our room but in her own cot. She will eventually be moved when we take the pc etc back out of her bedroom and into the front room where it was.

Apparently our oikey neighbours are still at it.

We went away for a few days to the beach - fab weather - swimming in the pool, running around the park and the beach. Dds all had a fab time. Dh and I are somewhat rested.

Rosylily · 25/11/2007 08:04

Eidsvold how lovely . I'm glad you had a nice break. hope the neighbours can learn to be more neighbourly!

Snoo snoo you are an animal driven by chemistry,I know what you mean about ovulation time! (I am also an animal driven by chemistry) Hope the infection clears easily.

Piffle great news. Now what are you going to be? Doing something challenging and interesting I imagine. Give us some clues about your interests jobwise and we might think of some good careers!

Well I confess I've reached an all time low. Got the days muddled up and missed my friends little girls party. We are still going over today but the party was yesterday I just desperately hope that her dd was having too much fun to miss my dd (they love each other)
Letting down little 4 year old girls is so lousy and I pretty much hate myself for that one.

Callieco · 25/11/2007 09:21

Rosy, look at it this way - your friend's little girl gets two days of partying, just today is a select one with her special friend!

Piffle - it's that old chestnut, but have you thought of teaching? Just you'll never have to worry about holiday childcare, and the contact hours at least are school friendly, even if you have to do prep stuff. I think things have improved a bit on that front though.

Hello Eids - holiday sounds fab . BIt of sun would help clear my cough and cold, I think {runs off to look at winter breaks..}

fitfox · 25/11/2007 09:39

Oh Callie I wish I could have a break, winter or otherwise!!

Eids your hol sounds lovely - very of the warm weather - its very cold here.

Rosy - don't beat yourself up about forgetting the party. I've done that a couple of times too. You have a lt to do and think abou and sometimes, well somethings gonna go out of your head isn't it? It could hae been worse - at leas it wasn't your own child' birthday that got missed!!

I forgot to take DS to a party after Monti was born -had to come up with a plausible excuse to both him and the host - think I just told the truth actually...

Rosylily · 25/11/2007 10:37

Thank you, it seems everything is fine and we will have a lovely day today. My friend has forgiven me so now I'm all weepy!

kiwibella · 25/11/2007 11:33

Rosy!! I agree with Callie and think how lucky your lil friend is to have two days of partying .

We had Kate's naming ceremony yesterday - it was beautiful - and it was my friend's daughter's fourth birthday too. She was so kind to share her day and was really confused when people kept saying happy birthday to her. I loved Kate's tea party... I had sandwich tiers and cupcakes - and no bloomin' camera . Lots of friends had theirs so I am impatiently waiting for them to come through .

Piffle... something in a school is always fun but not teaching!! The paperwork is horrendous and I always feel upset watching teachers lug books home for marking.

I think that you have a degree? What was it in??

I'm glad that the babies are getting rid of their bugs and everyone is catching up. Mmmm, sponge - it sounds like a festive day at yours

Snoo at the girls arguing over chocolate!!

Have a relaxing Sunday everyone x x

evenhope · 25/11/2007 12:57

Has anyone else had a Friend request on FB by Mothers Meeting?

I've got too far behind to catch up.. Bella your naming day sounds lovely.

Piffle sounds like you are getting somewhere in your planning. Do you have a degree or are you thinking of taking one?

eidsvold glad you had a nice break.

Everyone else hello

Popped in to work to find that I've been moved to the ground floor... when I wanted to work on the ground floor because I couldn't manage the stairs towards the end of my pregnancy there was "no room" . The girl who was covering my job is staying on, and I've been bumped off to the boring job she was doing before. Maternity Leave does your career no favours.

Nursery want to know DDs routine and she doesn't have one . All I know is she gets up at 10.30 am, has her one solid meal at 5pm and doesn't go to sleep until after 11pm. Everything else is random. Will there be time to impose a routine between Xmas and 7th Jan do you think?

kiwibella · 25/11/2007 20:19

Evenhope... when are you returning to work? I thought that employers had to keep your job open when you take maternity leave?? That's rough that it suits them to move you now and not when it would have been helpful for you . I hope that you make noises about that!!

Personally, I wouldn't start working on a routine... she will slip into one once at nursery. I'm sure that life will be busy enough as Christmas starts rushing towards us.

fitfox · 25/11/2007 20:50

At my job they guaruntee your job if you return within 6 months, after that its a similar job, on same pay, if that's what suits them

Evenhope totally agree re. mat leave - I got stitched up left right and centre - by male collaegues and mostly by my maternity cover who I have discovered completely shafted me on many fronts

... but hey - I don't care atm - just repairing all the damage he did

DeathBySnooSnoo · 25/11/2007 21:11

at the jobs thing.dh complains about women wanting equal rights and never being satisfied but if he read half of the stuff on this site he would understand why i get wound up about it.

it scares me when i read such stuff on here.i too am going to have to think about what i want to do with my life.Elsie is growing fast and i know it will seem like 5 minutes and she will be in nursery,so i will have to think about going to college or doing some type of course/training next year.

i just wish i had some idea what i want to do.when i was at school i wanted to do something in the singing/acting field but then i screwed up my a-levels and never went to uni,and ended up doing shop work.i looked into training to be a mental health nurse when dd1 started nursery.i did voluntary work at MIND and started a college course in human physiology(i wanted to do pshychology but it was full),i couldnt keep up with it though as it was soooo boring(i heard later that most of the others dropped out also as the tutor was crap).i was going to apply to start the nursing course in 2003 but i ended up getting pg with ds2...which is the story of my life sofar.i think its due to my fear of failure;having babies is something i know i can do!

Elsie is a bit better now.i took the dc for a nice long walk in the cold and i think it did her the world of good

rosy-glad your friend was ok about the party thing.i forget things all the time,i have had to instruct ds1 and dd1 to read any letters they get from school ,and if they are asking for money, shove them and my purse under my nose when ds2 and dd2 are in bed.

Mossy · 26/11/2007 08:31

Hello all,

Sorry to hear of those stitched up with maternity provisions in work. It's ridiculous isn't it?

I have joined the ranks of jobseekers and am applying for things left right and centre, mainly any old admin job in local government or housing associations (places with pensions and flexi time). They're all about 37 hours a week which after my last job feels like part-time!

Dh reckons we can't afford for me to actually work part time but I beg to differ so am applying for a few choice pt jobs anyway!

Evenhope I had a request from Mothers Meeting I added them whoever they are. Think they're a bit like Mumsnet. If it makes me look more popular....

Snoosnoo when you were pg weren't you talking about going back to college? What do you think you'd study?

Kiwibella glad Kate's naming day went well. I want a naming ceremony for Bertie (when we've some dosh) but dh thinks it's just an excuse for a pissup. Er....

Rosy glad everything was okay with your friend and her dd. Sounds like the kind of thing I'd do, that does!!

Piffle how are you feeling now? Any better?

I will text Dolly today. Have sent her FB message but imagine she is v busy in work.

Hello to everyone else........

OP posts:
Rosylily · 26/11/2007 10:26

Didn't realise Dolly was on facebook..is she in the march hares group? must look.....Had a lovely day yesterday in the end. But I am still really cross with myself for getting the days wrong.

Then yesterday evening I was feeding Hasan, then he pulled away and he spat out something black...when I looked at it, it was a big black beetle...arghhhhhhhhh

bethoo · 26/11/2007 10:44

Morning everyone , hope you all had a good weekend. i spent mine dimantling a wardrobe then lugging it back and forth as then had to take off a door to get it into the room! that was saturday night then yesterday i had to dismantle the cot and rebuild it in the other room so now little man has his own room and slept last night in there! so no more co-sleeping, i can now have an undisturbed sleep! i had a late night as the guy who installed my cable came over for a couple of hours, he is nice though only 24! but i behaved though it was tempting!! anyway back to baby talk, it felt weird having him next door, i kind of miss him being in bed so i might on the weekends let him sleep wiht me as a treat or do you think not a good idea?

has everyone else had Christening/naming days for their little one? i must say Mossy surely it is about a piss up!! LOL

Snoo -i hope you get well soon, do you think it is coil related? maybe you have an allergic reaction to the metal?

Rosy - that is euuugh! yesterday i removed a dried leaf from Haydens gob, they are so sneaky...

fitfox · 26/11/2007 10:56

Rosy I am shaking with laughter here at your baby!!! Monti was chasing some obscure bug yesterday trying to shove it in his mouth. showed it to DH and he found it hilarious!! Monti often has bits of dried leaf in his mouth too Bethoo

He has 4 teeth bursting through at the top and is being a real male about it - making such a fuss. I have to cuddle him to sleep and he wakes and cries if I let go of the cuddle

So why haven't I been invited to joinin the Mother's Meeting Perhaps 'cos I never get time to go on FB?

A very nice friend has taken Monti for a walk so I can go on MN declutter, so must set about it!!

fitfox · 26/11/2007 10:58

Snoo that sounds like a very interesting career to me - do you think you will pursue Phsycology?

Mossy I'd recommend HA's - same terms and conditions as councils but without all the backstabbing politics you get in local authorities. Most pensions are stakeholder now though, not full ones

evenhope · 26/11/2007 12:02

Bella I go back on 7 Jan. I'm trying to negotiate a temporary reduction to 3 days a week ATM w/out losing my FT contract. We can't afford for me to be PT but DD is so clingy and I can't bare the thought of leaving her.

foxy our work is as you say- 6 months OML and they have to give you the same job back. After that it's same pay but whatever they want to move you to

When I originally planned my Mat leave I thought that at almost 10 mo (as she will be) she'd be on 3 meals a day, sleeping through and OK to be left, like my other 4. Couldn't have been more wrong Have had no sleep last 3 nights. She demands to go to bed at 10pm then spends 1-2 hours mucking about- crawling round the bed, pulling up on the headboard and slapping and pinching me. Then she stirs every 2 hours for a feed. Then she coughs for an hour between 5am and 6am. Normally we get to sleep on until 10am but yesterday DS2 wanted taking to work at 7.45 and today it was school.

She has another tooth- top one

Rosy that is just so yuk!!

evenhope · 26/11/2007 12:03

Of course that should be bear not bare. This is what lack of sleep does
