kiwibella · 14/11/2007 17:11

yay for you and your dh, Mossy!! I am pleased that he is relaxing and enjoying your son and his wife .

bless your dd, Piffle . Go, superstar . Hope her voice holds out until the performance.

I am sure that you will enjoy having a cleaner Fox.

Kate is getting better. She has gone back to nursery - I figure it is the time of year when they all have snotty noses.

I'm counting the days until the end of term... 27 to go .

It's good to hear that Finn is up through the night because we are struggling with Kate. Well, we are struggling with the lack of sleep this causes - as many of us are. Do any babies have some sort of bedtime?? I never know what is going to happen from one night to the next.

kiwibella · 14/11/2007 17:12

I've started a thread here looking for ideas. MissE is keen to read something special for her sister. Any suggestions?

MrsSlocomb · 14/11/2007 17:47

Kiwi, so glad kate is well enough to go to nursery

Ronnie has a routine in the evenings and is down for bed by 7pm. Sometimes he wakes bewteen 4.30-5 am for food and sometimes he'll sleep righg through 'till 7!
He's also developing a routine during the day, sleep-wise at last!

fitfox · 14/11/2007 19:07

Monti has 11 BFs every 24 hours plus four solid meals. 5 BFs are between 10.30pm and 6.30am . I have lso started giving a bottle of FF at night hungry baby formula) and he still has 4 to 5 feeds at night!!

MrsSlocomb · 14/11/2007 21:03

Ha foxy, that is why Ronnie is an elfin child and Monti a solid chappie

CallietherineWheel · 14/11/2007 21:07

Foxy -
You must do nothing else but feed him!!!! How do you manage to work waking up that many times a night?

Kiwi, glad Kate is better, and keep counting down those days!!

Mossy - if things have improved that much between you and your DH, better start looking into that loft conversion PDQ !

Muppet - on the bright side, no biting issues in your house.

Piffle, have you got a star for DD's dressing room yet ? Btw, we are having moving discussions on our house, but more than likely they will come to nothing.

I think Jordi had bad wind tonight before he went to bed because he refused milk, and was crying/screaming for ages, poor mite, before he went to bed. So I'm expecting to join the woken up crowd tonight.

Oh yes, I had a nice surprise this morning. £50 from the premium bonds. It was great, and I look forward to spending it, but oh, for five more noughts on the end of the cheque.... Just so I could avoid having the back to work conversation with my boss. Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. I WILL do it tomorrow. [head in sand emoticon].

Piffle · 14/11/2007 21:33

Callie - Finn was a refuser last night too but still screamed. Tis teeth with him though... Tonight I gave him ibuprofen about 6.30pm and he fed ok ish, on and off on and off, but went straight to sleep and has stayed there... first time in ages.

Well Dp is back a day early . No doubt some discussion about his todger and it's lack of love action will make an appearance tonight...

Bella I'll have a think and see if I can recall any great poems... dust off the literary brain I used to possess....

Foxy - how much does Monti weigh now am amazed he eats so much - Finn is dropping to two good feeds daytime and one snack... but not eating anymore solids - am getting him weighed again as he has dropped from 75th to 25th, just want to make sure he is still on that line. He is looking much leaner for sure. He is not a great bf'er which is gutting me... it seems like it's something he endures for as long as it takes just to manage his hunger pangs, no comfort for him and he twists and pulls away. Find it very hard sometimes

kiwibella · 14/11/2007 22:22

thanks Piffle... I have just ordered a couple of books from Amazon!!

and this www.amazon.co.uk/Cozyosko-reversible-buggy-Lime-Purple/dp/B000XDCPDO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=baby&qid=1 195078344717&sr=1-4

your lucky dh .

brilliant bonus Callie!! You have reminded me that I must dig out Kate's voucher thingy. Make the call to your work and get it over and done with .

DeathBySnooSnoo · 14/11/2007 22:29

mrsS-pmsl@todger falling off.

lets see...todger...whats one of them?oh yes,i forgot,we are married now.of course any lack of action will be my fault because i always fall asleep as soon as we go to bed (at about 1am or later).

mossy-glad to hear your dh is being wonderful again.i do firmly believe men can suffer from PND as well.

fox-what formula are you giving monti?i am just wondering if its SMA,as i believe that is made from powdered mcdonalds food(ds2 was on the hungry baby version of that and was having 9 7oz feeds a day at 6 weeks.when i changed his milk it dropped to 5 7oz feeds).

Elsie is having 4 bottles a day now,7am,10.30am,2pm and a marathon feed at 7pm.she has started getting into sort of a daytime nap routine,i think.she goes to bed at 8pm,it could be earlier but i like to have some quiet time with her at the end of the day.

fitfox · 14/11/2007 22:45

Snoo I think its Aptimil (can't be arsed running downstairs to look)

I like Cow & gate but they had no C&G hungry formla and I was desperate so just grabbed the aptimil - a huge mahoosive tin of it

No idea how much Monti weighs as I avoid HVs like the plague.

He does love my boobs though!

gotta go - he wants me NOW

Rosylily · 15/11/2007 07:26

Kiwi-luxurious buggy cosy thing, it's gorgeous.
Hasan is breastfeeding constantly night and day, he's booby mad apart from that he eats little bits of whatever we are having...he likes chapatis and potatoes and saucy pasta and oranges. Most of it goes on the floor though!

He grabs my hair and snogs/bites my face alot.
Sometimes he is happy to potter around the floor chewing things and trying to climb the stairs. He likes to see me and cries loudly for my attention when neccessary.
The denim blue eyes are here to stay and everyone comments!

I know I'll be crying at our nativity play! Piffle how sweet that your dd has a main part, aw. I bet you'll be filling up too!

Callie do you like your work? I couldn't hold down a job at the moment-no chance. Not sure what I'll do in the long run...have to see how rich/poor we are I would like to just rent a studio space and mess about at my art all day and eat out alot! Is that too much to ask?

bethoo · 15/11/2007 10:33

Morning everyone. i guess i am joining the sleep depravation group as Hayden sleeps at 1 hour intervals!! i woke up this mornign and he was on top of me still latched on asleep! just means that i cannot move during sleep. he also has a fifth tooth coming through.

Mrsslow - Hayden was gummy then almost overnight he had 4 teeth as they popped out together! beleive me if he is still bf best stay gummy!

it is a shame that you can no longer film or take pics of your children at nativity play anymore.

Piffle · 15/11/2007 11:09

Right where is that bloody Kitty...
A word missus
Now that nice easy gentle kettlebell dvd you recommended...
I'm dying

Right ds1 is off with diarrhoea and dd is off with her sore throat - would appear not vocal strain but the loss of voice bug doing the rounds... crieky her days off numbers on her report are going to equal the national debt

Well nothing to report on the todger fronnt, owing to kids being ill and needing a parent each at midnight. Short straw I drew as ds1 is mine... twas grim....

Right must dash, Finn much better!

muppetisacat · 15/11/2007 11:50

babies are certainly not condusive to todger action in this house... I have no idea how people manage to get pregnant when they have babies under 1 year already!

Can we do a quick poll as to who is sleeping in their own rooms now...

Samuel is still in our room but I remember i defo had dd and ds1 in their own room by now...

... am I making things worse by still having him in with me? Do you think it's the reason he's waking up to 4 times still through the night?

DeathBySnooSnoo · 15/11/2007 12:10

muppet-Elsie has been in a room with dd2 since she was 5 months old.
dd2 was in with dd1 from 3 weeks old and sleeping 8-7 from 12 weeks, plus there were daytime naps, thats how i got an Elsie

i asked dh if he no longer found me attractive last night and he said 'eh?you've been on your period' or words to that effect.d'oh,i forgot about that!

bethoo · 15/11/2007 12:45

Hayden still sleeps in my room and if staying at dps house then he is in his travel cot so we get the deed done before he wakes up! harder in my house as he blatantly refuses to sleep in his cot so we have to do the deed with his asleep beside us! is that wrong???

kiwibella · 15/11/2007 13:51

I like that term bethoo - "do the deed" . I remember making love beside a sleeping baby being discussed on that controversial baby show. I don't think it is wrong but my mind is imagining scenarios where the baby is bounced off the bed .

Kate is in our room too... we don't have the space to move her and, short of us switching rooms with MissE, there is nowhere else for her to go.

Kate is still in her hammock but I'm thinking about moving her on to some sort of bed. She sleeps ok in a cot at nursery.

MissE is home today . I sent her to school and got a call about 11 to pick her up! I am enjoying being paid to be at home (fingers crossed about the paid bit). Hope your two are doing ok Piff?

MrsSlocomb · 15/11/2007 13:58

Piff, I never said it was easy BUT it is do-able Pain is GOOOOOD n'est pas?.

Bethoo, no that's not wrong! Bloody lucky you're getting some!!!!

Sorry for all of you with sick kids. We have a vomit bug making its merry way round the family. I've put Ronnie to sleep screaming in his bed twice today as I cannot stand the constant grizling. Some of you are really good with your babies when they are particularly moany. I just get fed up and put him to bed.

I went to a clothes swap party the other day. I did very well, spent £20 (adult clothes were £1.00 and kids' 50p) They were all posh labels too!!
I was very funny as when all the bags that people had bought were opened out onto the floor it was like watching a rugby scrum. Some of these women were obviously seasoned clothes swapers! I was trying to work out oa way of climbing between their legs ( room for a little one!)

Anyway got to go and pay some attention to dd2

MrsSlocomb · 15/11/2007 14:01

kiwi dd3 was in a hammock until she was so heavy (even with the heavy duty spring) that it as trailing on the floor, about 9 months I think. I was all keen tto put Ronnie I it but he HATED it. Mind you he hated practically everything for the first 6 months. He hated being restricted in anyway though. It was sad as I loved that hammock.

kiwibella · 15/11/2007 14:32

Diva... I've been meaning to ask about your comment about SMA and McDonalds food??????

Kate has a tin of SMA at nursery... they were two for a tenner???

Evenhope · 15/11/2007 17:57

Just read the thread but can't remember any of it

DS2 has had the D&V bug since Sunday- seems to be dragging on a bit.

DD has had this RSV thing for 12 days now. Thought she was looking better and chanced swimming. Not a good idea. Started off smiling and splashing but the grizzling set in after the first underwater swim

DD is still in my bed.

fitfox · 15/11/2007 18:51

Monti is in my bed and DH sleeping on the floor in the DC's room

I managed to set fitre to a baked potatoe last night by setting the microwave too high and going upstairs to play on Ebay and forgetting about the dinner

spongecake · 15/11/2007 20:26

its awful when they are ill... my baby woke up with a terrible cough-really quite scary- and cold this morning. i hope he gets better soon- he won;t eat normal food and has gone back to bf all the time- am SO TIRED.

todger action- very funny description

mossy, your dh sounds a different man!

best go, have to do admin for house BORING

MrsSlocomb · 16/11/2007 07:17

bit frosty this morning, couldn't work out if it had been snowing or not

Mossy · 16/11/2007 08:31

Morning all,

Piffle are you allowed to take photos of your dd in her starring roll?

Kiwibella I spent most of yesterday thinking about poems and things and my brain is just dead. You wouldn't think I studied English Lit would you? Will have a look through some books today though when I'm back from bf support group.

Omg last week at bf support group got to see biological nurturing in action; I now want another baby so I can try it myself!!

Snoosnoo pmsl @ made from macdonalds food!!

Sponge yes he is a different man, well, not really, he's just the man I married, again, instead of the horrible one who emerged when I was in my third trimester....

Snoosnoo I think he did / does have a male form of PND, really I do.

Foxy how funny I did the same with some chicken yesterday... the smell of burning chicken and melted plastic still lingers!!

Evenhope I hope your dd is much better soon.

Bethoo, Bertie is still in the bed with us; we are decorating the front room for Bertie atm but I have no idea when he'll make the move, as he still wakes goodness only knows how many times in the night for boob. However he does have a bed time now, goes to bed at seven (cot is beside bed with side down screwed into bed frame) so me and dh can make use of the comfy settee downstairs!

Muppet I do think that if the baby is next to you sometimes there are maybe a few more night wakings than there need to be, you know, he wakes up into a slightly lighter sleep and... oh... what's that smell... milk? Yep, sure is... I think I'll just go and get me some of that.. ehn, ehn, can't quite reach, waking up out of light sleep now into wakefulness... Mum!! Mum!!! Feed me NOW!!!!

Iyswim.

Rosy is Hasan now Bertie's twin? Bertie is the same, feeds (boob) often, and has bits of whatever we're having.

Last night he had steak and chips. Home made chips I hasten to add without salt and vinegar, don't call the sosh just yet!!

He held the steak and just gnawed bits off.

Quite a bit of it went though, the dogs were so disappointed!!

Right he is demanding attention now, have to go get ready...
