Awww I know @busylizzie85 the crying is so heartbreaking, it's very difficult...our babies certainly know how to pull at our heart strings and get what they want! The only way I did it was to know he had just been fed, changed and winded so there was no reason for him to cry as such and I knew he wasn't in any distress or pain, he just wanted a cuddle! It is hard not to give in though as the cuddles are lovely Smile

Zoey92 · 08/10/2020 20:37

Thank you for all you replys earlier.
I did reply earlier today but it didnt seem to send.....annoying.

LO woke at 12am then 4:45 only took 3oz each time but it was better than nothing.
She was still a bit grouchy this morning.
SIL suggested putting the dosage of calpol in a teet....it workes a treat! The things we do 🤦‍♀️

Tonight has been totally different, a tad upset at teatime took her full bottle, had a bath at 6:30 & bless her shes slept since 7pm, last night has caught up with her and wiped her out, im just going to let her sleep and let her wake for a feed when she wants it

Missgemini · 09/10/2020 10:19

Omg omg omg! He slept through the night for the first time last night. 1130 to 730 roughly. Occasional stirs and boob in mouth used as dummy, but I'll call that a full night sleep!

Magpie21 · 09/10/2020 14:15

@Missgemini that is fabulous news. Bet you feel fantastic!! More of that please babies 👶🏼💕

Busylizzie85 · 09/10/2020 15:06

Ivys first tooth has erupted as the front 😱 it's only a tiny thing at the mo no fully through but it's definitely a tooth!!

OP posts:
Magpie21 · 09/10/2020 15:23

@Busylizzie85 oh my goodness!! That's exciting. How has she been with the teething?

I was actually going to hop on and ask a couple of questions:

  • Has anyone used teething gel/granules yet? How did you know the right time to use them? My LO seemed a bit agitated last bight but I wasn't sure if it was bad enough to warrant the gel yet.
  • Does anyone's LO have a comforter toy that they are attached to/go to bed with? I'm sure they are a bit young but just wondered.
Busylizzie85 · 09/10/2020 15:32

@Magpie21 she's mainly been really really dribbley and chewing on anything that she can grab but I think the two awful nights we had Sunday/Monday were from it coming through perhaps.

We have not used gels or anything as I was not sure they recommend them now but it changes so much and even my doctor said use a dab of brandy 🤦🏻‍♀️ she likes her gummy mit and a wooden teether which is quite hard.
she does have a bunny comforter thing that she enjoys sucking and I try and get her to nap with it to see if it helps settle her off me.

Magpie21 · 09/10/2020 15:48

@Busylizzie85 I was just trying to get her to nap with a bunny comforter - Didn't seem to do anything for her and now as I sit here typing LO is sleeping on me! I think we are very much in the same boat on the nap front! The only saving grace is that at least she is chalking up some good nap hours but I really must try and get her to nap independently somehow.

Busylizzie85 · 09/10/2020 15:55

Snap, I put the comforter over my shoulder for her to sleep on, tried to put her in her bouncer with it and she just cried for 30 odd mins till I picked her up and she fell asleep straight away on me 🙄 one day I'll be able to make a drink or go to the loo 🤔

Sorry forgot to tag you @Magpie21

Gigitree · 09/10/2020 16:45

Same here @Busylizzie85 and @Magpie21 I’ve been trying to introduce a unicorn comforter in the hopes we can move away from naps on me, but no luck yet, thankfully she will nap in the car/pram so I do get some breaks!

Magpie21 · 09/10/2020 17:39

@Gigitree @Busylizzie85 maybe in the next few weeks they will be more receptive to the comforters! I can squeeze out a 30 min nap in the pram but only if we are in motion, so my ironing pile remains high!

Smiffette · 09/10/2020 19:04

Not to put a downer on the attempts, as I've tried it too with a little bunny comforter, but I read they don't get attached to these things until near 2 year old

Smiffette · 09/10/2020 19:04

1 year old not 2!!

mrssunshinexxx · 09/10/2020 21:03

@Magpie21 yes my little one has muslins as comforters just as I did as a baby / child and I still sleep with them now
She loves it over face when she's feeding or being rocked off if she's in pram I tuck it next to face but obviously never leave it unless I am right there and can hear her breathing on me x

Magpie21 · 10/10/2020 04:59

@mrssunshinexxx I've tried a muslin too from time to time as it gives her something to grab when her arms get a bit over active at nap time!

Just had a nighttime feed burping incident! It always happens at night doesn't it!! And I've just put her down and she is cooing around like it's playtime and not 5am. Cant help but smile 😊

BabyBird20 · 10/10/2020 09:23

I feel for you @Magpie21, we had such a large projectile vom at 5 this morning we had to change our pjs and bedding 😭😭😭went from a lovely snoozy feed with the potential for another hour or so sleep to a fun game and playtime (for him.. definitely not for me!!) urgh!!

Missgemini · 10/10/2020 10:57

@magpie21 thanks, it was lovely having a full sleep for one night!

My LO has been dribbling and chewing on absolutely everything! I keep looking at the gums to see if I can see any teeth. None visible so far. He has chewing toys to help him with the itch though.
I don't think he's attached to any toys yet though. I would say he has an affinity for one or two.

Blizy · 10/10/2020 19:07

Hi everyone, I've been a bit awol. I have PND and finding everything a bit of a struggle. Rose pretty much screams all day unless I'm holding her. I when dh takes her she goes absolutely crazy, holding breath kind of crying. She screamed that much the other day when dh has her so I could shower she burst a blood vessel in her eye! She does sleep through the night which is my only saving grace! It's a good job she is cute. She will be 4 months tomorrow, I'm dreading the sleep regression.

@blizy sorry to hear you've been struggling. I hope you're getting the help you need.
Awwww look at her face! how could one ever get mad at that face! She's cuteeeeee

mrssunshinexxx · 10/10/2020 21:49

@Blizy very sorry to hear you have PND but I think it's courageous that you have recognised it , have you spoke to the GP ? That's hard with your DH not being able to comfort her does he spend a lot of time with her ? My baby happy with her daddy but only for short bursts then she lets it known she wants mama back (secretly love it is that bad )
My little one slept through last night 10.10pm -7.15am ! Wish I could say the same was awake a lot bad headache and can't get my lovely mum out of my head, miss her madly

Blizy · 10/10/2020 21:59

@mrssunshinexxx I can't imagine how you must be feeling. Sending you a massive hug.

Rose can be happy with dh sometimes, it's just she's such a mummy's girl.

I had ante natal depression and anxiety, I had a previous stillbirth and found my pregnancy ridiculously hard to get through, then came Rose became poorly and spent some time in nicu, followed by her surgery in August. She has reflux, which is not under control despite meds.
It feels so overwhelming listening to her cry all day long, I've been prescribed some AD's,
So hopefully they kick in soon.

Mj2196 · 10/10/2020 23:27

Hi ladies . Hope some of you are nearly finished with sleep regression . We had 5 good nights and 2 terrible ones so let’s see what tonight brings. Jj is growing so fast . He laughs when I tickle him now it’s the cutest
.
Is anyone still using the carry cot of the pram ? Babes head literally touches the top now but I don’t feel he’s ready for the stroller so we’re limited to short outings in the car seat (cybex lie flat )!
Pic cause he’s my cheeky chops 🥰

mrssunshinexxx · 11/10/2020 04:23

@Mj2196 he's very cute
Yes she's still in bassinet part of pram probably for another month I would guess
She does go in the bumbo seat and going to try jumperoo tomorrow does your LO have good neck and head control If so he will be fine in next part of pram just tilt it back as flat as it will go.

@Blizy it's grim I don't really want to do this forever without her I worry about my mood a lot I think I need to speak to the GP but all they will offer is AD's and I'm not sure that's the right route for me I feel like it's pretty unbearable everyday but then how am I meant to feel any different I've lost my mum who wasn't just a mum she was my best friend , role model, confidante, secret keeper and would of been the best grandma.
Sorry just having a moan at how unfair life is

You have had a very tough time there is no denying that but the love for all 3 of your children is obvious from your posts. I think it's lovely that she's a mummies girl but it is relentless and we are allowed to ask for / get help in any way we need it x

SRS1311 · 11/10/2020 11:14

@Blizy @mrssunshinexxx sending virtual hugs to you both, both situations sound so hard and really feel for you Flowers cute pic of Rose Smile

@Mj2196 such a lovely pic - loving the personalised top! I'm not a big fan of our travel system so think we will invest in a stroller that can lay flat or upright etc but is a bit more lightweight for getting around in
