Sorry the smallest feed during the day yesterday was 90ml I meant to say

SRS1311 · 02/10/2020 09:53

@Gigitree sounds like you've hit the dreaded 4th development leap! My app says ours starts next week. I dont give too much notice to these apps and leaps etc but so far my little one has followed it exactly and is always grumpier and fussy when the app says he starts a leap.

Its terrifying reading this thread at the moment as we seem to have hit a good spot and he is happy and sleeping well. I can see it all come crashing down next week! Anyone out there who hasnt had a 4 month regression?! Is there any hope?! Sad

BabyBird20 · 02/10/2020 10:08

@SRS1311 us! I'm freaked out that Benji is lulling us into a false sense of security as he seems to be increasing his length of sleep overnight! He goes 7- 9 hours without a feed at the moment though I do have to resettle him with a dummy a couple of times a night. He is 16 weeks now so the app says he's in the leap but I think he might be late coming to it!! They do say it can hit anytime so who knows what's going to happen!!

LillianFullStop · 02/10/2020 12:14

Oh @Gigitree we had that a couple of weeks ago we had to tip and waste so much formula because of his snacking I was glad I'd stopped expressing because I would have been in tears if I had to pour breastmilk down the drain!

Thankfully DS woke up with smiles again this morning so hopefully over the worst of the 16 week jabs drama!

Magpiefeather · 02/10/2020 12:43

Sorry @SRS1311 I wish I could say we had skipped the leap but no - shit sleep here, irritable baby, hard to get him to nap... still adorable but it’s just slighter harder and more frustrating atm! I console myself with every day I get through is a day closer to this delightful phase ending. Fingers crossed you skip it!!!

Could have cried in the nighttime . 2-4.30am he just wanted to be on the boob constantly, but fussing, wriggling and moaning the whole time. Latching on off on off grumble grumble on off. Wouldn’t do a deep latch as he didn’t actually want milk, just wanted to suckle. Wouldn’t lay still. it was NOT my fave. He finally went to sleep and then the eldest woke up from a nightmare! Blooming heck. Really hoping for a decent sleep tonight as husband swapped his shifts and is working the weekend Angry (not amused)

Gigitree · 02/10/2020 13:42

@SRS1311 yeah I’m thinking she must go through them early. Am I being dumb though my app says the next leap starts in one day, and she will be 15 weeks then. But the app says leap 4 happens at 19 weeks?

@LillianFullStop that’s a relief to know this is normal baby behaviour and there’s nothing wrong with her! How long did the milk aversion last? It’s awful throwing away so much formula isn’t it? But you have to offer large amounts just in case don’t you?

Mj2196 · 02/10/2020 14:24

@Magpiefeather we’ve had 2 days and longggg nights of this ! Sucking frantically then having a melt down when milk comes out 🤷🏻‍♀️ Last night was sooo much better we slept 9.30-1 , fed and asleep again ,fed at 4.30 and asleep till 7 . Sadly back to grumpy mode today but I have hope the end is near after 3+ weeks of 1-2 hourly wake ups 😄

Magpiefeather · 02/10/2020 15:31

Glad it must be normal then @Mj2196 but sorry you’ve had it too! That’s a good night pattern hopefully same again tonight for you!

@Gigitree it might be because the wonder weeks app goes on due date not date of birth?

LillianFullStop · 03/10/2020 10:09

@Gigitree it was about 3/4 days then back to normal. He's 17 weeks now and seems to be having a growth spurt and would be hungry after 2 hours instead of the usual 3. Can't keep up!!

DS sleep times seems to have shifted 2 hours since the jabs. We had to wake him 2 hours into bedtime for his second dose of Calpol and he slept in that morning and as a result bedtime that day was also late. Maybe it will shift back just in time for the clocks change messing with it again yay!

Gigitree · 03/10/2020 14:14

@LillianFullStop hmmm we seem to have had a couple of days of it last week, then a day or two of her being more ‘normal’ and then we’ve had about 5 more days of it. Although her nightime sleep/feeding pattern was a bit more ‘normal’ again last night, so hopefully her daytime feeds will go back to normal soon xx

Smiffette · 03/10/2020 15:36

Just reading all the leap 4 posts, I'm glad I'm not the only one having sleepless nights! I will be glad when this one is over, for sure the worst and most disruptive to date!
She used to wake twice a night, occasionally 3 times... now it's between 4-6 and longer feeds than normal! my nipples are so sore which up until now I had been lucky with no having experienced! It doesn't help that she won't take a bottle so they have no rest at all

mrssunshinexxx · 03/10/2020 21:36

My baby 14 weeks and not sure if growth spurt/teething or early 4m sleep regression??
From week 9 to 13 she was either sleeping through or waking once but the last 3 nights she's been up 4 times and it's a killer once you've had sleep back

Any tips?

Missgemini · 03/10/2020 22:21

Sorry, no tips. My LO has never slept through :D I'm still hoping to wake up one day to find that he's slept through!

Ladies, I'm in shock! My son has started sitting without support! 15.5 weeks. This is the boy that hates tummy time!

Smiffette · 04/10/2020 01:46

@Missgemini I'm the same, waiting for that first night where she sleeps through. Although I imagine I will wake up somewhat panicked when she does!

What a clever little boy you have!! DD is bit quite there yet, she was 16 weeks yesterday, I think it will be another couple weeks before she gets it.

Sorry no tips!

Mj2196 · 04/10/2020 08:41

Well ladies I Feel Brand new , the past 3 nights J has only woken to feed twice .He’s 17 weeks now so I’m soooo hopeful it’s the end of hourly waking . Everything crossed it ends for you too !

We had our tt re snipped yesterday so fingers crossed for latch improvement and no re attachment this time &my nipples will finally be able to do some healing 😩

SRS1311 · 04/10/2020 10:36

@mrssunshinexxx ah no poor you, mine has been sleeping well too since about week 9 or 10 and now going into week 13. If he starts the regression like everyone else I'm going to struggle as I have been spoilt with so much sleep!

@Missgemini oh wow that's ace! Does he pull himself up on his own or just staying sitting when you've sat him up? Mines a little fatty so hes going to have to be strong to keep himself upright! Grin

Missgemini · 04/10/2020 11:26

@SRS1311 to be fair, I have to put him in the sitting position, then he maintains it. I did it randomly a couple days ago and saw that he maintained it for 5 secs. Been doing it more and more and yesterday he just carried on sitting for ages.

Pegase · 04/10/2020 12:11

@SRS1311 @mrssunshinexxx I have been lucky that mine has been a good sleeper since birth but the regression hit us hard last week I'm afraid. Couldn't believe it!

BabyBird20 · 04/10/2020 15:43

@Pegase how old is yours now? Mine has only just learned how to sleep and now this regression is looming! It's the first time I've slept more than 2 hours at a time since June! 😬😬

Pegase · 04/10/2020 16:10

She is 16 weeks so the sleep regression happened at 15 weeks

Magpie21 · 04/10/2020 17:05

I had a bad one last night! 2:30am feed followed by a burping up incident an hour later and then spent an age getting the LO back down. Our feeding turn around time is still 45 mins-1 hour!

Is anyone else finding it hard to fall asleep after their LO has gone back down? It's so frustrating!

May I ask the group how you put your LO's down for naps during the day and night? Rock to sleep, straight down in the crib awake, white noise etc etc. I'm keen to move naps away from me and for LO to not need me to rock her to sleep for all sleeps.

@Missgemini Wow! That's great about your DS starting to sit up. My LO is starting to play more vigorously with her toys so I don't think it will be many more weeks until she is moving around all over the play. She is still quite stationary!

@Mj2196 oh that's great! Pleased that things are on the up for you and your LO. There is nothing better than having a good sleep is there, it just makes the days so much brighter!

Gigitree · 04/10/2020 18:15

@Magpie21 yes omg it’s so frustrating not because able to get back to sleep. Last night after a 2am feed my LO, husband and dog were all snoozing away and I was wide awake 🙄

Busylizzie85 · 04/10/2020 18:58

@Magpie21 Ivy will only sleep on me during the day it's so frustrating sometimes I'm lucky and can put her in her Moses basket (which she is quickly outgrowing) and she'll sleep for maybe 20 mins but most of the time it's on me! I have started to always play white music abs draw the curtains to try abs make it dark. I have no idea how I'll start to put her down upstairs for naps 🙈

I can't get back to sleep easily either especially nearer the morning as my back is still bad from the birth I can't lie flat or on my right side 🙁 I really should see someone about it now.

Mj2196 · 04/10/2020 19:15

@Magpie21 it’s like being in a fog sleep deprivation isn’t it ! A girl I know was complaining she got woke up twice , im thrilled with 2 bfeeds lol ! Probably won’t be saying that if it’s still 2 feeds a night in 6 months but for now I can cope 🤣

Mj2196 · 04/10/2020 19:18

@Magpie21 also, I can offer no help as day naps are on me/ in pram . Night time we still feed to sleep and I just hold my breath when I put him down 🙈
