Ps @Gigitree don't ever doubt yourself. Your doing amazingly ❤️

Magpie21 · 29/09/2020 21:09

@SRS1311 we have the same with the dummy replacements in the night (some nights are better than others). My LO also needs to be rocked asleep for each nap and sleep and sleeps on me for all 5 of her daytime naps. If I try to put her town she will get up 10 mins later.

@Gigitree Ha! Good that you got a refund! I had come across a few on Instagram but I don't want to waste my money (or hurt my self esteem!) unnecessarily.
Ugh, sorry you had such a crappy day and evening. I had one of those burping situations in the middle of the night the other day 😩 Remember these are the particularly hard days and it will be so much better as LO gets older and these days will become a distant memory. Grace is very lucky to have you loving and caring for her x x

@Cornishbumpkin Honestly! I'm forever telling my DH about how good this group is and how helpful and supportive I find it.

Gigitree · 30/09/2020 02:52

@Cornishbumpkin @magpie21 thank you both so much I much I really appreciate it! ❤️ Sorry for you guys but glad to hear I’m not the only one with a night time puke disaster

Grace woke up at 11 and now 2.30 for a feed so not too bad considering- I am scared to burp her now though 😂

Cornishbumpkin · 30/09/2020 03:17

@Gigitree ah we're in sync on the timings tonight Grin maybe aim away from soft furnishing when doing the burps haha. Hope your not up too long

Mj2196 · 30/09/2020 06:36

@Smiffette third have definitely been the worst :( . awful temp he’s had to have an extra dose of calpol in the night . Wouldn’t sleep anywhere but on me ! Still a grumpy guts this morning .

Gigitree · 30/09/2020 06:44

Ahhh looks like it @Cornishbumpkin thankfully wasn’t up too long but she was awake again at 5.45 meaning she has slept in 3 hour chunks tonight which isn’t the end of the world but is not ideal either and when she wakes up for a feed this close to ‘morning’ it’s a real struggle to settle her 😩

Hope your little one settled well and you got some good sleep

babbafett · 30/09/2020 07:06

I've been lurking the last few days. No energy to contribute. I'm glad to see my DS isnt the only one going through a change. It has been tough the last few days. Fighting his day time naps, awake at all hours, puking to the point I'm worried he has nothing in his belly and only settling with me so no chance of any rest. Im a puke covered mess. I went for a walk with him yesterday to help my head and I bumped into people I knew. I was so embarrassed I had left the house covered in god knows what with my ever thinning hair scraped up. I knew if I spent time making myself presentable I'd have lost the window of him being agreeable to being in the pram. I nearly broke yesterday but he slept well last night thank god.

A few pages back we were chatting about changing teats. I moved him to the medium flow tommee tippee but I'm thinking about moving him back again. I think he is drinking his bottle too fast hence the epic puking. How are other people getting on with change of teats?

Gigitree · 30/09/2020 09:05

I have days like that too @babbafett
I’ve gone out of the house like that too, sometimes you just have to go when you have the opportunity don’t you, I’m sure you didn’t look anywhere near as bad as you thought you did! Still I sympathise it’s no fun feeling like that. So glad your little one slept well for you though, it can really turn a shitty day around can’t it?

We changed from teat size 1 to teat size 2 A while ago now and at first it seemed too fast for her but then she got to grips with it. It says teat size 3 at 4 months, but that seems really soon!
Always worth changing back just to try and see if it helps! I think that was Grace’s problem last night, she’d screamed a lot of the day so probably had a lot of air in her tummy and then guzzled her milk too quick so when she burped it just all came back up!

Somehow we’ve ended up in a situation where she is both due for a feed and a nap at the same time 🤦🏼‍♀️
Do I dare to offer her the feed early? I’ve tried this before and sometimes it just pisses her off if it’s before she’s ready, but then it’s also a mega battle if she’s tired and hungry at the same time! Oh such fun 😂😂😂

SRS1311 · 30/09/2020 10:28

@Gigitree aww hope your having a better day today - just to say its such a rollercoaster of emotions with them, its severely tested my mental health! You have up and down days but if you look back on that first week out of hospital you will see how far you've come - which means your doing great!

@babbafett I feel guilty sometimes at feeling I've left myself go! I dont have time to do nice hair and make up like I used to and live in comfy clothing! I think you just have to do what you need to do to get through these first few months because they are so hard.

Just to say - I'm always saying to my Dh "on the mumsnet group...." as theres always been someone who has had a similar experience to us or advice!! So much so that it's become a bit of a running joke Grin but the group has been so invaluable especially in Covid times. I would have questioned and doubted myself so much without it!

Gigitree · 30/09/2020 11:21

Thanks @SRS1311 it really doesn’t feel like it, I feel more clueless now than I did then.

LillianFullStop · 30/09/2020 16:41

We have 16 week jabs tomorrow too - at least last ones for a little while. 8 weeks he had temp of 38 quite high and 12 week ones he had 37.5 so will see about these ones. Will brace for the worst if it's the worst of the lot as you say @Mj2196

Anyone moved their little ones from a bedside cot/Moses basket to a proper cot yet? DS in small so still fits in it at 4 months (just) but I read somewhere to avoid big changes in sleep arrangements around the 4 month sleep regression as they will have enough to adjust to. So thinking of doing it when he's 5 months.

Smiffette · 30/09/2020 18:19

@LillianFullStop I haven't moved her yet, she is 3 and a half months... I don't think she will last in it until 6 months but hoping I can get to 5 months at least.
I'm going to start trying to get her to have day time naps in her cot in a few weeks to get her used to it

Smiffette · 30/09/2020 18:22

Thank you to those who responded re imms... I guess it's a bit of pot luck how our LO's react... capol ah the ready!

Gigitree · 30/09/2020 19:49

@LillianFullStop no we have a Snuzpod and these can be used until 6 months I believe or until baby is sitting up I think I read. So hoping she will be good in there until she needs to go in her cot in her own room

Zoey92 · 30/09/2020 20:47

ive had LO in her cot from 9weeks due to her quickly outgrowing her moses basket & she became quite unsettled in it.

Hows everyone got on with their LO today.
I honestly feel like today was the worat one yet. Amelia woke at 3:10am for bottle was 4am before she went back over, awake again 5:15 then 6:30, came in living room and she went back over till 8, she had a bottle and then screamed from 9.30 till 10.30 and had only had 2 naps all day them only being 15mins each, with serious kick offs before having them 🤦‍♀️
Shes now been settled since 7.30 & im having thee biggest cuppa. I've definitely been on the verge of tears all day I'm so worn out

mrssunshinexxx · 30/09/2020 21:48

@LillianFullStop I'm not putting my baby in her room at 6m when she grows out of snuz pod I'm going to bring cotbed and attach to side of my bed

Pegase · 01/10/2020 02:45

Haha haha maniacally Googling four month sleep regression. Baby has been fussing since midnight culminating in a massive poo at 2am followed by a feed and then massive puke all over her clothes and sleeping bag. Currently watching me with comedy wide open eyes 👀

Magpie21 · 01/10/2020 02:59

@Zoey92 poor you. Don't worry, this time will pass. Hopefully you are at least getting a good night at the end of a long day.

My LO was out fo sorts yesterday, getting frustrated (on her play mat) easily and not taking her full bottles.

Tonight she woke at 11:30pm needed a cuddle to go back to sleep (never really happens) and has been kicking the bottom of the crib intermittently since. I've just given her a bottle. I'm guessing this is down to the start of teething and also I go that little 4th leap notification on my phone today!

Hope your nights are going well 😴

Zoey92 · 01/10/2020 11:09

@magpie21 Thank you, last night was a bit better she stirred twice but went straight back over & took a bottle at 3:30am and went back over till 7:30 & had a good nap from 9am till 10am before i came to work.

We're all going through it atm mind 🤦‍♀️ powering through with coffee today. I've her 2nd immunisations on Tuesday morning too.
Whats this App you mention?

Gigitree · 01/10/2020 15:17

Grace has started getting fussy with her feeds again, the GP wasn’t much help but just suggested it was normal baby behaviour and isn’t reflux or anything like that.

She will sometimes have her feeds with no problems whatsoever and other times she will have part of her bottle and then scream and cry and not want anymore.

She’s started not feeding much in the day and being ravenous at night, she had over 600ml between 7.30pm and 6.30am last night.

I feel so lost as to what to do next.

Magpie21 · 01/10/2020 17:05

@Zoey92 it's called Wonder Weeks. It predicts when baby is going through development leaps based on their due date. It's quite insightful.

@Gigitree My LO started being fussy with her bottle about 3 days ago. She is literally taking 2 oz a go compared to 6 oz (usually she takes her bottle very keenly). It's very out of character for her. I defiantly feel like I'm back to the days of guessing what the baby needs.

It feels like her routine and reactions are very different this week. I'm just feeding her on demand and offering the remainder of the bottle 30 mins after Incase she'll take it. I'm putting it down to the start of teething, as she is putting her toys in her mouth and blowing bubbles all the time and sleep is bad.

Counting down to the weekend! Xx

Gigitree · 01/10/2020 18:02

How old is your LO @Magpie21
Grace is dribbling a lot and putting her hands in her mouth a lot, tries to put my hands in her mouth, occasionally tries to chew anything but her teething toys lol!
Maybe it’s the teething with Grace too, but just odd then she’s hungry all night...

Magpie21 · 01/10/2020 20:17

@Gigitree LO is 13.5 weeks. She is doing all the things you describe and funnily enough just took her first full 6 oz bottle of the day (and I anticipate she will in the middle of the night as well). Maybe they just need more milk in the evening and night after a day of not eating quite enough.

LillianFullStop · 02/10/2020 04:17

@Gigitree @Magpie21 yes I think mine is teething now too. It happens all at once doesn't it? Teething, 4 month sleep regression, leaps and 16 week jabs. DS had them done yesterday and has been so grizzly and unsettled. Temp isn't high as we've been advised to stay on top of the Calpol for 3 doses but I think his leg is sore. Also he's a bit more aware now than the first two so he's feeling quite sorry for himself. When do they start liking Calpol? He screams bloody murder when I give it to him but I remember there came a point with DD (3) that she quite liked the taste and would ask for more Hmm

Gigitree · 02/10/2020 09:13

It certainly does @LillianFullStop
I’d love to know that about calpol as my little one just spits it out.

Feeding is such a shit show atm i just can’t wait for this phase to be over.

Yesterday the biggest feed was 90ml whereas before she was having 180-190 per feed.

Before bed she had 210ml, woke up 4.5 hours later and had 100ml then woke up 3 hours later and had 120ml then 2 hrs later she had 90ml
We then got up for the day and she played on her mat and in her bouncy chair for a while, then started to grizzle so I thought she might be hungry, she guzzled 30ml then had a burp and then didn’t want anymore and then fell asleep on me 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

What the actual fuck is going on? 😩
