Hello all, our appointment went well yesterday and had a chance to properly find out in normal terms what tobys post mortem showed. It didnt bring up anything that we didnt know but good to speak to someone who can help us understand it better. Our pead is going to chase up the genetisist about our councilling and to remind them that we are still waiting to see them. Our hospital sent all of tobys notes upto great ormond street when he had pm and have not got them back yet, so doc is going to chase that aswell.

All is going ok though, slowly easing myself back into work, gradually building up my hours to full time. Nursery is going well but we could do with more kids as we lost so many to school this year .

Councilling is going well to, im learning how to let my feelings out without feeling guilty of upsetting anyone etc.

Anyway hope you are all well
Hugs to all little ones x

maisiemog · 07/11/2007 21:50

Hi Jbad, I'm glad you are getting the opportunity to talk about Toby and how you feel. Don't worry about upsetting me, just say what you feel.
Are you talking to the geneticist about another baby in the future, and how to manage that?
I am trying to remember - did you add a baby room? How many children do you have in the nursery?
Thank you for Alfie's hug, I will give it to him tomorrow.

jbadgirl · 08/11/2007 15:32

Hi Maisie, probably speak to genetisist about that definately, not that we are planning another one just yet but I would like more children in the near future.

No I hadnt got round to finishing off my baby room plans at the nursery but will keep going on them now im back. Our nursery currently has space for 26 children aged 2-5 years.

maisiemog · 08/11/2007 22:32

Well, I hope the geneticist is helpful because you and your DH are lovely parents.
Any new children for the nursery yet?

biglips · 09/11/2007 07:50

morning all!...

i am have a quick read on here before ill drop DD off at her preschool this morning.

Jbad- - so is this the last appointment of all now to go and see the genetisist or is there more??. fingers cross you will get it all in one go! fingers cross xxx and the nursery sounds really good too. DD cant get enough of it as now she is in 5 mornings a week since Monday. She had been up since 6am (shock) she had never been up that early before!!!..she told her Daddy that she had saw a man in her bedroom!!!!

maisiemog · 10/11/2007 15:26

Oh No Biglips!!!
I hate when my DP is down, it's like so much more work. Don't overdo it!
I have decided I am trying to do too many things. We thought the washing machine has broken last week, but it's OK. However, I hardly did any washing for a week and realised that I actually don't need to do the amount I am doing. I think I have been putting things in the wash too quickly. If Alfie wears something for a couple of hours or dips his cuff in soup I put it in for the wash. So now I'm putting things back in the drawer and spot washing areas where he has spilled something rather than do a full wash. Trying to get the washing down to four or five days a week instead of seven. Fed up with washing!
Are you missing Tweenie?
Alfie is going to start in January 5 afternoons. I just received a slip requesting my acceptance of the place.
I'm waffling here.

jbadgirl · 10/11/2007 20:27

Hello, hopefully our appointment with genetisist will not take too long. It will probably be the first of a few as me and dh will have to give blood to test our genes I think??? Not really sure how long these things take.

We went to Tobys school yesterday (fordwater special school). We were invited to the re opening of their dark room (sensory) in memory of Toby, and twins that died around the same time as Toby. It felt very strange going back there without him but it was lovely. They have spent lots of money refurbing the room and got new equipment for all the other kids there. In the sensory room they had 2 teddies for the twins and are trying to find a yellow one for Toby.

The headteacher said a few words and of course my emotions were high and couldnt keep the tears in.

They have also put a plaque on the door which is sweet. They also gave us a cd with some pics of tobs at school which I looked straight at once home. And they started me off again!

Finding things hard and constantly thinking about Toby. There are so many reminders of him around everywhere which is nice but can be upsetting. I have my good and bad days.

I hope all of you are doing ok as the weather gets colder x

Still thinking about where to put Tobys ashes but we have more information now so it shouldnt take us too long to decide.

Take care everyone x

cazzybabs · 10/11/2007 20:32

Jbadgirl - how nice of the school. I think you are doing amazing well - I am sure you will find things that set you off crying in 20 years time when you think about Toby. He was such a special amazing little boy...We will all remember him for the rest of our lives.

Biglips - my dh has a bad back - it is very irrating (I am not sympathetic).

Oh god my house is such a mess and down right dirty. Still at least it is empty of plumbers and electrians and the kitchen floor is going in on Monday. I have no energy to clean it...am hopeing dh is going to help and I have blocked the vachum cleaner again - I am forever sucking sioemething up and blocking the tube!

cazzybabs · 10/11/2007 20:33

OHH biglips - I am symapthetci to you , but not to my dh...I think of it like manflu

biglips · 10/11/2007 20:38

well he hadnt got a muscle spasms but a slipped disc!! as the hosp said muscle spasm but the Physiotherapist said slipped disc!!

he went yesterday and he is looking alot better today..he got to go back in on Monday and start taking up swimming.

cazzybabs · 10/11/2007 20:39

Oh no - your poor dh...

biglips · 10/11/2007 20:43

jbad - aww that is sooooo sweet of Tobys school. i do bet that there wasnt a dry eye in the school. Aww how old were the twins?. At least Toby got 2 playmates to play with in heaven

Cazzy - wheres that baby??? !!

OP posts:
cazzybabs · 10/11/2007 20:58

It ain't coming yet - no kitchen floor or birthing pool. No pinapples, curry or sex...its due in 3 weeks, but if it cn come in 4 and a bit weeks that would suit me very well

maisiemog · 10/11/2007 21:37

Jbad, that sounds so lovely. I can't imagine how hard it is for you, and now the dust has settled it will be so hard. I think when you are busy arranging things and seeing doctors that you can push things to the back of your mind, but when the noise dies down, you are just left with yourself. I'm glad you have your DH to completely understand and share everything with you including the pain.
I don't know what to say to help, but I hope you can cope OK and keep yourself busy and looking forward. You won't forget Toby, but you have a life to live and continue with.
Thinking of you.
Hugs

maisiemog · 10/11/2007 21:48

Cazzy, OMG! They never do what you want.
I had Alfie just under three weeks early, poor old thing was sleeping for weeks to recover.
Are you nesting?
Friends of ours have just had a little boy, it brings it all back.

cazzybabs · 10/11/2007 21:57

No not nesting - unless you count sitting under my duvet sneezing and cursing all the dust (and dh - he was just been to tbe loo and not flushed - why do men do that??? or is it just my gross husband....)

I know it will come early.....just to spite me...

maisiemog · 10/11/2007 23:59

Hee hee! I don't always flush at night - too noisy. I don't think Alfie would wake up, but it's a throw back to the days when he would go PING! and be wide awake (and crying) if there were any noises at night.
Babies always come when you aren't ready. We had to send my mum on a dash to Mammas and Pappas to buy a mattress for our weirdly shaped cot - no normal mattress would fit.
I remember coming home from hospital and she had left two really cute babygros on the side of the cot and a stuffed owl sitting inside.
Aaah! Cazzy it will be so lovely to have a teeny little baby and all the cuuuute clothes that they wear once and never again because you have sooo many clothes.
How do you think Grace and Is(o/a)bel(l/le) will like having a new sibling?
Sorry I can't remember the spelling.
Oh and 'Bless you!' for next time you sneeze.

cazzybabs · 11/11/2007 11:06

I think Isabelle (I am impressed you remembered the name) is excited, although she keeps her emotions close to her - she doesn't get emotional bless her. Very very easy child.

Grace is excitied but Ithink will have her nose put of joint a bit!

But I can't wait to have 3 - except when they are both fighting - but today they took themselves off to the play room and played for an hour and half - a miracle.

Anyway am off into town to buy matnerity pads (ummm - it is all coming back), breast pads and other "luxery" items....

maisiemog · 12/11/2007 00:02

OMG those big, giant pads. Eeeww! I remember them. Mind you it is all over very quickly, but you do forget don't you.
Have you been thinking about names any more?
Can we help at all??
I love choosing names.
