"People who pick up a baby are stupid". WTF?????

oooggs · 02/10/2007 21:13

wow missed this last week - can't wait to hear what she says about twins.........

PillockInThePumpkin · 02/10/2007 21:13

grrr

right, my turn to do new thread, will get thinking

Idreamofchocolate · 02/10/2007 21:18

Why is CV advising that formula is easier? Surely if the mum wants to mix-feed then she should encourage that? Silly cow.

not here, not here, just forgot to say before that N drools like nobody´s business and I love the bipi stuff drybibs. here They´re a bit dear but they have a fleecey lining and poppers round the neck instead of a standard neck hole so they keep him really dry. The bandana´s are a bit small but very cute, am going to get some of the normal bibs too.

If too expensive it couldn´t be too hard to make them yourself? If you are that way inclined of course, which I am most certainly not! lol.. closest I get is asking my mum if she can run some up

tcmummy · 02/10/2007 22:32

hello all

just wanted to say how much I'm seething after Bringing Up Baby tonight. I can't believe it's legal to treat a baby like that in the uk today

PillockInThePumpkin · 02/10/2007 22:33

me too, big SLAP required to a certain ladies face ..........

tcmummy · 02/10/2007 22:43

She's a witch. Completely evil in a vile cold calculating way. Thank God she doesn't have any of her own children, they would be seriously messed up.

tcmummy · 03/10/2007 08:09

morning all! Get me last off 1st on! Ha! =I've got no life then!

tcmummy · 03/10/2007 08:14

sol - hope your girlies are a bit better this morning!

oooggs - sorry to hear Jack's been poorly, didn't realise Hope things are better with him too x

tcmummy · 03/10/2007 08:19

SMB - hope T is feeling better too and dh is brighter today xx

Mammyjo - fingers crossed that you got a reasonable night. You sound a really tired mummy xxxxxxxxx

tcmummy · 03/10/2007 08:20

HA! ok, so I'm just here chatting away to myself lol

SharpMolarBear · 03/10/2007 08:21

Morning everyone
tcmummy - did you know it's not oooggs's Jack that's ill? It's the ds of a friend of hers. Sorry if I'm telling you what you already know. Poor boy
T has been sick again (once absolutely everywhere!) and on his second dirty nappy of the day. He's done this for the last few mornings, but seems fin in between, and otherwise seems well. Do you think I should be worried, or could it be that he's overfeeding to make up for the night without food?
Pillock, thanks for asking about the move! Have sorted my food cupboards out in the kitchen (we have about 40 tins of soup) and hopefully getting the mortgage application in today Really don't want them to take forever like they did last time!

SharpMolarBear · 03/10/2007 08:23

no tcmummy I'm just typing really slowly
How are things with you?
Watched Bringing up Baby last night, horrible woman with a smug face Why on earth didn';t the twin mummy tell her to piss off, she seemed so close to it!

YvieE · 03/10/2007 08:30

Morning all - well tcmummy

Sorry that so many of the LOs (and their mums) have been poorly. Ooogs glad Jack is out of ICU but know he is still quite ill.
Quick Q - S now has two teeth and she is eating solids (roughly 2-3 meals a day) plus i'm still BF - should i be brushing her teeth? And if so how will she rinse toothpaste out? Am I an idiot for asking this question?

tcmummy · 03/10/2007 08:32

oh! I thought it was Jack of Erin and Jack fame Hadn't read through properly

Don't panic about T being sick, if he's not distressed/upset/seeming ill otherwise he's probably just being a greedy monkey

lol at 40 tins of soup! you mad woman!

All ok here. Dh is currently feeding T some breaky and I'm meant to be getting on with party invites for my 30th and T's thanksgiving, but as yet I've just been on mn and e-mail. Shhhhh...

Sexonlegs · 03/10/2007 08:32

Morning all

tcmummy, pmsl at you chatting away to yourself!

Hi SPB, hope T is ok. Are his nappies runnier than normal? Don't really know what to suggest, but it does sound maybe he is over-eating to compensate for the hours of not eating, but not sure.

Girls are ok today. I think it was just a one off with B, as she was fine overnight and no problems this a.m. Has eaten marmite toast.

K is a bit grizzly again, but her head doesn't feel hot. Might dose her up with Calpol later on if needs be.

I missed the programme last night as went to bed early. Sounds ike it was even worse than last week tho!

Right, grizzling baby next door, so need to go and rescue her!!

Have a good day. xx

SharpMolarBear · 03/10/2007 08:33

Morning Yvie
Maybe use a baby flannel and a tiny tiny bit of toothpaste? I hadn't even thought of teeth brushing, aargh! (not that T has any but I'm sure they'll emerge at the most awkward time!)

tcmummy · 03/10/2007 08:34

Morning Yvie! nice to see you! And at 2 teeth! None here yet! I understand the advice is to brush them as soon as they appear. Not sure how you rinse though Maybe just use tiny bit of toothpaste and give a bit of water afterwards?

SharpMolarBear · 03/10/2007 08:35

Thanks tcmummy and SOL, last few mornings I've panicked that we are getting the D&V bug again, hopefully he's just being a piggy
SOL, sorry, missed that your girls were ill, what's up with them?

tcmummy · 03/10/2007 08:36

Ahh! Just been caught mntting by dh

Eddas · 03/10/2007 08:50

Yvie, you don't rinse, they just swallow it. You only need the tinyest tinyest little bit and i'm sure I got some advice for dd when she was about 2 that you shouldn't rinse dd(at 3) still doesn't rinse but does now spit HTH

I hope all the poorly people are feeling better

SMB, I have every sympathy with you moving, we moved in July 2006 and I packed everything and sorted all the forms etc etc. Nightmare But worth it. When the removal men came they were at how much stuff we had, apparently our 2 bed was holding the contents of a 3 bed but that's why we were moving. Plus a lot of the 3rd bedroom stuff was baby gear, good job we kept it as I hadn't realised but at the time of the move I was pg with ds

As you all know I started a weightloss thread. Pinions has given us all some great advice and tips on how she is doing/has done it. So if any of you want to lose weight have a look. She talks sense Fingers crossed it'll help me

Right off to deal with the day

SharpMolarBear · 03/10/2007 08:52

I want to lose weight but don't think I can face it at the moment! Plus we're not allowed to buy food atm so hopefully I won't have to try too hard!

YvieE · 03/10/2007 09:01

Thanks guys - now have to go and buy a cute baby toothbrush...my little girl is growing up!
Eddas will definitely have a look at the WL thread - am back to work in less than 2 weeks and can't fit into the majority of my old clothes
Hi Katy - Hows the packing going?
SOL - Hope K is better today.
