My darling boy's birthday today

We gave him a Fisher Price Little People garage as his main present, which he loves, as well as loads of Bob the Builder trucks and Thomas the tank engine bits.

He's currently having a nap, then we're having a little birthday tea later.

A good day SM x

Hi YF.

Johnny is doing fine, but is finally developing some independence and attitude!! I think for a lot of it, he is so tired after nursery that he just can't be angelic any more and the rest of it is that he's nearly 4!!

We have hired a bouncy castle party at a nearby leisure centre for his birthday. DH said he couldn't stand the riot of 10 or 12 4yos in the house, and just to pay the money for the party!!

No sign of letting up in the nursing department either. I hardly have any milk (though I can't be sure) and he usually wants a drink of water after nursing because I think it's quite salty now (so I have read!), but he is persistant. I'm happy to tandem feed if that's what he wants, but I am not looking forward to the laxitive effect that the colostrum might have on him

We are going to the hospital tomorrow for a cake test. The last skin tests we have had for his egg allergy have brought up minimal reactions, so it's now time to try well cooked egg to see what happens. It will make life much easier if he's able to tolerate a bit of egg. Fingers crossed.

Hope everyone is well.

Do you think we should start a new thread seeing this one is the best part of two years old????

How did the cake test go MB. Ds1 can eat cake with no reaction now but he's not had it for so long he's not really interested anyway, but we haven't tried him plain egg. Ds2 still reacts though, he stole some of ds1's cake and came up in a big rash!

YF - Ds1 is also very protective of his little brother. Have you noticed much difference in their personalities yet. For the first few months our two were very similar but now I'm starting to see some big differences. Ds2 is much more outgoing/confident but is also alot stoppier. I had an easy time with ds1 but ds2 is going to be already a handful!

Ds1 was 4 today. We only had a small party for him but he had a really good day and really enjoyed himself. Instead of a cake i made him a giant gingerbread man with lots of icing decoration. It came out really well and ds1 loved it.

My babies are growing up too fast!

The cake test went well dlamis. But the hospital said not to give him any more egg for a week in case he had a delayed reaction. He has very soft poo on Wed/Thursday so i don't know if this is a bug, or the egg. He then didn't go at all until yesterday when he did one normal poo, and then has had umpteen bouts of diarrhoea since last night (including one on the kitchen floor, the wee lamb )

So, I am not going to try him on it again until this poo is back to normal.

We go back in January to repeat the test, but this time with a hard boiled egg rather than just cake.

Been a while since I posted on here. I hope you are all well.

We have had a hell of a month or so. Johnny got cough/croup, then stomach bug, then i got a vile ear infection which floored me for 2 weeks, then johnny got a sickness bug which made him pretty ill for 9 days and now, he's got a chesty cough.

He's not even sneezed since Easter time, and this seems to be the pattern. Nothing for yonks, then everything at once!!

He is still breastfeeding, despite being in the huff that there is only colostrum now. He knows that there will be loads of milk when the baby comes, so seems to be hanging on in for that!!

Nursery is going really well. My concerns about going 5 mornings a week were unfounded. He loves it!! The teacher says he is friends with everyone and is interested in loads of the things that they do. I do enjoy that he comes running over to give me a huge hug at collection time though.

Erm, what else. Not much really. Johnny is now 1m tall! Another 2cms and he will be double his birth length! I just can't believe that he's 4 already. He talks all day long and comes out with some really cute/funny stuff, and of course I think he is the smartest kid around (don't we all!!)

Hope you are all enjoying your 4yos as much as I am.

Hi mawbroon, sorry to hear that Johnny and you have been ill. When's your baby due?

Alice is seeming very grown up these days, she goes off to nursery 5 afternoons a week and loves it. They've taught her to write her name, but she is doing it backwards half the time, just like dd1 did - seems very strange to me but apparently it's quite common. She is still very into all things pink and princessy and had a lovely fairy themed birthday party last month.

Hello all,

Hope everyone is well and all ready for Xmas.
Its Thomas' school concert tomorrow morning and he is so excited bless him! All the songs are to be sung in Welsh and he is practising from getting up to going to bed!
Dlamis - yes ds2 is far more confident then ds1 ever was and is into everything and always on the go!!
I don't come on here very much these days so if you want to add me on Facebook Dlamis I am Hannah Johnson and its a black & white photo of me & hubby (or try Hannah Wardle)

Hi Girls (if anyone is still looking!!)

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. We had a lovely time, until 3rd Jan when I went for a walk and fell and broke my ankle.

JOhnny is being very very good about it all, but I have never been away from him so much and do miss having him around

I am not sure how this is going to work when i have the baby. I will either be newly out of plaster so will still not be at full strength in the ankle department, or I will have to go through the birth with my leg still in plaster.

If I have to have a section, then I am stuffed. There will be no way I can use crutches with a cs wound.

At least I am being forced to take it easy.....

But I am not enjoying having to inject myself daily with blood thinners.

Hope all you are all well and TAKING CARE in the snow and ice.
