Still waiting for my little man to arrive but starting a thread ready. Can't wait to catch up with all the other May 20 mums.

Huge congratulations to those who have already met their little ones. It's been quite a scary time to face giving birth recently and you've all done amazingly.

@november90 Ada wasn't sicky- just tired and a bit wingy. Poops were a bit loose though. Perhaps see how he is today and give them a call if still sick. I would think the rotavirus one could make them sicky though as it's to do with the gut so try not to worry too much. Zzz

Raindancer411 · 18/07/2020 11:17

Mine has here's this week coming Confused

Weight wise she was 7lb 12 and weighed 11lb 6 at 7 weeks

We are going to need a new thread soon.

Courtney2020 · 18/07/2020 11:55

I'm dreading taking my little boy for his first jabs xx

Delbelleber · 18/07/2020 12:07

@november90 did your lo spots ever fully clear up? O still has done on his chest.

Raindancer411 · 18/07/2020 18:34

@Delbelleber Get some aveeno baby cream to wipe over them. It was amazing stuff and the redness of the spots went within hours of the first wipe!!

november90 · 18/07/2020 19:38

@Delbelleber they haven't gone completely, but there's only a small handful scatter around here and there, nothing that anyone would notice really! I'd say they improved most in this past week, which has been week 8! I've used the oilatum range for the bath and moisturiser and I really do think that helped! How old is yours now?

Is anyone using anything for reflux/colic? I've been using infacol but thought I'd try dentinox as I read that one was a lot more effective! Anyway I've only used it twice but so far so good! The thing that confuses me is that is says give during/after a feed but not to give more then 6 times a day! He's breast fed and is fed more then 6 times 😬 not sure what to do!

Delbelleber · 18/07/2020 22:01

@november90 they have the same birthday remember! His have gone down a lot too but not completely cleared up.
@raindancer11 I use baby aveeno wash and extra dry skin aveeno cream on him which is my cream. Also tried coconut oil. I guess its caused by hormones from the milk?

Raindancer411 · 19/07/2020 09:59

@Delbelleber It is the hormones or so the HV said when I asked. I didn't realise that baby girls can have what they call a mini period from our hormones after birth Shock

Delbelleber · 19/07/2020 11:47

@Raindancer411 I remember that with my daughter! I found that scary and emotional. Weird!

Raindancer411 · 19/07/2020 12:28

@Delbelleber I know what you mean. I felt the same when I was saying to my husband that it's weird to think she is actually born with all my eggs (and that we in effect in some way carrying our grandchild at the same time as our daughters)

Delbelleber · 19/07/2020 12:51

Wow I never thought of it like that!
I find it amazing (in a true miracle kind of way) that out bodies know how to make babies.

May2311 · 20/07/2020 09:30

Morning everyone!

I am 11 weeks PP and bottle feeding. I haven't had a period yet. Do you think I should be concerned? I thought it was around 8 weeks you usually get AF back again! Xxx

helpasisterout · 20/07/2020 21:36

Can't believe how much I've neglected this thread. Crazy how a baby can keep you so busy but equally it's hard to see what you've achieved with your day!

I'm experiencing intermittent stomach pain, feeling sick and soo tired so going to phone doctor tomorrow I think - doubt it is anything birth related though at over 7 weeks PP but really don't want to be unwell for my baby who is EBF.

Hope you are all getting on well and adjusting to life with the May babies - I just can't believe how much clothing is already to be put away for storage as they are too small!

Delbelleber · 20/07/2020 22:37

@May2311 did you get a 6w check for yourself? I would ask the doctor about the period. It does seem like a long time but I don't know either.

@helpasisterout my lo is getting big too. My mum kept commenting how big he is getting today. Hes so much more sturdy now.

May2311 · 21/07/2020 08:00

@Delbelleber yep got a check( if you can cal it that) - they asked if I had a period yet and I said no but she didn't say anything about it. I'll give GP a ring as LO is due next appointment for injections anyways. Thanks! Xx

Raindancer411 · 21/07/2020 09:52

@May2311 if you are breastfeeding it can take a year to start again. Last time I was only waiting 3 months before mine started. So far I am 2 months PP and Bfing again.

november90 · 23/07/2020 15:49

How is everyone getting on? :)
I can't believe our babies are either 2 months or almost there! ❤️

Caspianberg · 24/07/2020 16:04

@november90 - all is going well here. 12 weeks old tomorrow. Time is flying past. He is really turning into a little character recently as can now smile and laugh rather than spend all day frowning at us with a grumpy face.

Rebecca612 · 24/07/2020 19:01

All good here as well! 11 weeks old and lots more smiles and giggles than before 🤗 going to start trying to form more of a routine next week - I think someone on this thread mentioned Louanna - I’m using her routine as guidance. Wish me luck!

Raindancer411 · 25/07/2020 09:05

Little one had her first jabs yday and slept most of the afternoon and had calpol. She woke up happy this morning but just turned grizzly so given her some calpol and she is nodding now. Her temp was only raised by 0.2 from her normal.

Getting a little worried something is up as before her jabs she had been very grouchy and crying lots more than usual. We were putting it down to being over tired as although she sleeps between 4-7hrs at night, in the day she is mainly awake and has a few 30 min cat naps. Just worried it isn't that...

It's a minefield of guess work and worry this baby lark

Emmacb82 · 25/07/2020 09:53

12 weeks here, had second lot of jabs on Thursday. Getting really frustrated by the lack of daytime sleep ie none. Will be awake from 07:00 right through till 20:00 at night with no sleep. Which means he’s extremely grumpy at times and I end up feeding all day as it’s the only way to comfort him. He won’t be rocked to sleep, and won’t take a dummy. I do wonder sometimes what he would have been like as a bottle fed baby, my first always napped. As much as I love breastfeeding, I find the neediness and clinginess hard to deal with and it’s so hard with another child as I have very little time for them anymore.
Otherwise Noah is getting on really well, is smiling lots and getting strong. Every smile makes the hard bits worth it x

woollycat · 25/07/2020 18:27

Has anyone had any spotting? I am 7 weeks post partum and ebf, had some spotting today. I wasn't expecting a pwriod for a while yet! Baby now sleeps for 7-8 hours at nights, wonder if it's because of that.

AlmostAlwyn · 25/07/2020 19:40

@Emmacb82 it's hard having an older one as well, isn't it! But I don't think breastfeeding vs formula feeding would make a difference. Some babies just don't like sleeping!

@woollycat Sometimes lochia can return between 5 and 8 weeks, so it's nothing to worry about (unless it's bright red and soaking a pad), and unlikely to be your period already. You never know though I guess! My son was 6 months old before I got my period back, so I've got my fingers crossed for just as long this time 🤞🤞🤞Grin

Caspianberg · 02/08/2020 14:34

3 months old today! How is that possible

Time is flying by as they say it does. How is everyone getting on?

november90 · 02/08/2020 17:14

@Caspianberg oh my goodness, 3 months sounds crazy!
We're doing really well! Marley seems to be in a better feeding routine which is good. He's always been really sicky but this last week it's been really intense so he's been out of baby gaviscon. Still breast feeding!
He's such a sweet thing who just wants his mummy ❤️❤️❤️
Ex is being a bloomin nightmare and trying to make everything about him! 😩

How is everyone and the little babies? It was nearly a year ago I found out I was pregnant. I can't believe it!
