Still waiting for my little man to arrive but starting a thread ready. Can't wait to catch up with all the other May 20 mums.

Huge congratulations to those who have already met their little ones. It's been quite a scary time to face giving birth recently and you've all done amazingly.

Anyone else finding their babies hold their breath when sleeping? Last night I went to check on my little one and couldn't see her belly rising so put my hand on her belly and still couldn't feel anything. I gave her a little wiggly and she stirred. Scared me so much I couldn't sleep for an hour. I think I remember my first doing it but cannot remember for sure.

Delbelleber · 12/07/2020 20:02

I haven't noticed that raindancer. That would scare the sh*t out of me. Mention it to your health visitor just incase.

Hope you are feeling better now November.

Hi everyone my baby is getting his immunisations next week and he only weighs 5lbs 6oz so little worried how did all your babies react to them so I kind of know what to expect with little man xx

May2311 · 13/07/2020 21:02

@Courtney2020- my LO was just really tired and then when she was awake wanted to be held. Also her poop was rather runny for a few days!

@November90 hope your starting to feel better soon!

Delbelleber · 13/07/2020 22:26

@Courtney2020 my lo was tired for the day as he had them in the morning but just normal after that.

@Raindancer411 did you ask your hv about baby holding breath?

Raindancer411 · 13/07/2020 23:49

@Delbelleber Yes and she said that it was probably part of the sleep cycle and we were doing all the right safe sleeping

Delbelleber · 14/07/2020 00:03

That must be a huge relief for you. Glad all is normal Smile

So M had his jabs yesterday and omg. It took him 4 hours to go to sleep last night and I've been holding him since 2am 😰 I thought the jabs made them sleepy?!!! We've had a really tough few nights prior to this too. Feeling deflated :( My first has always been a shocking sleeper, looks like I've got another one on my hands 😢

May2311 · 15/07/2020 08:02

@november90 sorry to hear that!! Little cheeky chops he is.

The last couple of weeks I've been looking at a routine for Ada. I've started following Nanny Louenna on Instagram. She has a few schedules if you scroll through her posts you can follow depending on babies ages and I have to say it's been brilliant! Ada is much more settled and sleeping really well during the night. We put her down at 7am and she wakes about 2.30 and then goes straight back down after a feed till 7 again. Took a couple of days for her to get into it but I'm really pleased with how it's gone. X

Caspianberg · 15/07/2020 09:26

Morning, good to see how everyones getting on. We have first vaccinations here this afternoon, so it doesn't sound like we will get much sleep tonight. He is having a long morning snooze now and will fall asleep in the car drive there so hopefully he won't be too tired before vaccinations at least.

He was sleeping 9-3am, feed, then until 7am, but its all gone to pot the last week and he is waking 2-3 times between midnight and 7am. I think its a combination of it being so hot and stuffy where we live, and a growth spurt as he has been stuck on boobs almost constantly daytime the last few days.

Caspianberg · 15/07/2020 09:51

For anyone who is breastfeeding and also giving the odd bottle of formula, how much formula do you give at a time?

We are currently giving 1-2 bottles per week, usually given by Dh so I can go out longer than 30 mins! Until now we had just been making 90ml (3oz) and he has been only taking 60-70ml at a time.
But this morning Dh gave him 90ml whilst I was at hairdressers, and he drained the bottle. Then I returned soon after and he fed on both sides for fairly long feed still.
I breastfed him at 6.30am (20mins), dh gave bottle at 9am, and I was back and breastfeeding him again at 9.30am and he seemed starving.

He is usually breastfed on demand, every 1 to 2 hours in the daytime. So no routine at all, but frequently. Its rare he goes longer than 2hrs, only on occasion if sleeping.

Raindancer411 · 15/07/2020 23:44

We have had a rough few days and nights, as my little one has decided at 7 weeks that sleep is over rated and wants to be awake ALL the time. Anyone else found this around the same age?

Delbelleber · 16/07/2020 07:34

@raindancer my lo is not opposed to sleep but he will flap his arms about scratching at his face and that keeps him awake but I have started swaddling the past couple of weeks and he responds well to it, calms him down and he sleeps well in the swaddle

Caspianberg · 16/07/2020 09:30

@Raindancer411 - same here a bit. From birth -8 ish weeks he was sleeping with just 1-2 wakes. The last few weeks hes done 2-3 wakes. hoping its just a growth spurt.

It was awful after his first vaccines yesterday! he was fine with the actual needle, but about 4hrs later screamed constantly for 2 hrs. I had to basically breastfeed and rock him from 5-7.30pm to calm him enough to give some calpol. Then he was still unsettled but fed most the evening and eventually slept at 10pm. slept fine, and woke this morning back to usual self.

Raindancer411 · 16/07/2020 09:39

Bless our little ones... if only they could talk 😂

Courtney2020 · 16/07/2020 15:39

I'm interested to know how much everyone's baby weighs now since I have a tiny baby still I'm curious to know what they were born and what the weigh now. Eli was born 3lbs 5oz and now weighs 5lbs 13oz xx

Caspianberg · 16/07/2020 15:59

@Courtney2020 - he is 10 weeks old, was 8lb 8oz born, yesterday weighed 13lb 2oz.

Delbelleber · 16/07/2020 21:19

My lo was 7lb9 at birth and 9lb13 at 6w. He's 9w today, not sure what his weight is now.
Eli sounds tiiiiny!

Emmacb82 · 17/07/2020 08:23

Noah was 6lb15 at birth, was weighed at 8 weeks at 10lb15. He’s 11 weeks now but hasn’t been weighed again.

I’m blessed with a non sleeper again 😫 will not nap in the day at all so is pretty much awake from 7-8 until 8 at night. Then he’s a nightmare to get to bed as he’s so overtired. Ends up breastfeeding most of the day to stop the crying. Night times are slightly better, he will sleep in 3 hour stretches normally. I honestly don’t know how people with twins or triplets manage!!

green2468 · 17/07/2020 13:43

My little one is now 9 weeks old and we've not yet let anyone hold the baby due to the virus. Would like to know what you've allowed as feeling really conflicted about what to do!

May2311 · 17/07/2020 16:28

Ada was 6lb 8oz at birth & when we weighed her on Sunday at 10 weeks she was 11lb 9oz.

@green2468 I would say it's totally your choice- you have to be comfortable with whatever you choose. For us we have had immediate family - mum, dad and my sister. My mum and dad haven't gone out anywhere anyways and my sisters husband works away so she has been in our "bubble" as she has twin 3 year olds. As she is a key worker we needed to be in the bubble for childcare. My OH family have seen her but not as much as my Brother is disabled. Xx

Girls can I just check how your baby's were after their first set of jabs? Mine has been really sicky since and he had his jabs on weds. He is quite a sicky baby but this is worse. He's otherwise fine in himself and feeding etc! I just wasn't expecting all the sick!
