Still waiting for my little man to arrive but starting a thread ready. Can't wait to catch up with all the other May 20 mums.

Huge congratulations to those who have already met their little ones. It's been quite a scary time to face giving birth recently and you've all done amazingly.

@May2311 - glad you mentioned routine. We also have zero routine. I can't even work out how we would even start one right now? He just eats and sleeps as he fancies. He seems happy with that so far, is sleeping and eating ok so I am just going with it.

Bought myself a pile of new clothes as was fed up of having nothing to wear that was easy to breastfeed in or looked like a sack of spuds

november90 · 03/07/2020 16:17

Oh god the tooth ache, or lack of tooth (🙈) is horrendous! I went back to the dentist today and they said it is trauma to the jaw but no treatment due to breastfeeding 😩 I think the broken sleep and 2 children is making it a million times worse! Oh well!

Routine wise, I'm trying to get myself in one. Just with being a single mummy and a have a toddler it's really hard for me to not be in one! M gets up every 2/3 hours during the night so it's orettty full one at the minute 😬 Absolutely loving our little bubble though ❤️

Emmacb82 · 03/07/2020 21:39

No proper routine here yet either, just going with the flow. But I’m going to try and get a bit of a bedtime routine going soon, be nice to try and get both boys to bed at the same time and have a bit of evening. Not sure Noah will go for that though as he enjoys screaming and feeding all evening at the mo!

firsttimeivfmum · 04/07/2020 21:10

Hi everyone! Just found this thread. I had my little boy Jude on 26th May. I'm a FTM.

He wakes up a lot in the night to feed (EBF). Two hours if we're lucky but sometimes he wakes 45mins-1hr after I last put him down. He is in a next to me crib. I didn't buy a sleepyhead or something similar as when I was pregnant I read that they aren't to be used for overnight sleeping but the sleep situation in this house is desperate. Does anyone use them?

Doc thinks he may have silent reflux too and he is on gaviscon.

Raindancer411 · 05/07/2020 07:01

Hi all, been spending some of out time up and down to hospital with little one for one reason or another. Last trip was as she couldn't really feed as blocked up nose and when she did she brought up some blood streaks. Was there form 9pm until 4:30am. She had a chest X-ray (I had to go in with her for that) and blood test 😭 All seems good and they have given gaviscon for reflux (projectile vomits from time to time which is scary) and said blood could be from her nasal passages and where she swallowed it (which is what we did think but you have to take them to get checked).

On another thing, anyone with little ones skin issues. She has baby achy and I have been wiping her face with baby aveeno cleaning milk and wow the improvement!! I got it in savers for 2.99 (6.00 most places).

Caspianberg · 05/07/2020 12:14

@firsttimeivfmum - Have you tried using your next to me crib on the tilt reflex setting? So head is higher than feet?
How often does he feed in the day? Also EBF here, and he sometimes feeds literally what feels like all day long, but then does sleep fairly ell overnight. I try to feed him at least every 2 hrs during the day in the hope he doesn't need as often overnight.

firsttimeivfmum · 05/07/2020 12:37

@Raindancer411 thanks for the recommendation. My little one has baby acne too! I will get some!

firsttimeivfmum · 05/07/2020 12:39

@Caspianberg he feeds a minimum of every two hours if not more. He is an absolute greedy guts. He is 6 weeks on Tuesday and already almost 11lb (born at 8lb5oz). Yes we are using the tilt on the crib. It's really tilted. The poor buggar falls to the bottom sometimes in the night x

Caspianberg · 05/07/2020 12:51

@firsttimeivfmum - seems like you are doing most things to tilt him up already then. Only other thing I can can think of is he too hot or cold overnight maybe? Sorry not much help.
My son is about the same size as yours i think, was 8.8lb born, and weighed 11.2lb at 6 week check. He's 9 weeks now but haven't weighed him recently. They do seem to be permanently eating don't they, especially when the weather is warm.

Raindancer411 · 06/07/2020 10:53

I am due to weigh my girl today as she is 6 weeks old and I weigh her at home. She has already outgrowing some of the 12lb 0-3 month old clothing!!!! My son was small for his size and in his clothing for months. What a difference!!

Delbelleber · 06/07/2020 13:27

Aw my wee olly is pretty small then. He was weighed at 6w and he was 9lb13oz. He's definitely not a new born anymore though. He's really strong and smiling all the time!

Caspianberg · 06/07/2020 16:42

@Raindancer411 - yes we have outgrown 0-3 moths here bar a few cardigans. Its mainly the length i think. He is 62cm long, most 0-3 says up to 12lb/60cm. So poor thing couldn't stretch out in sleepsuits if they had feet in them.
We are also using reusable nappies, so he has a bigger butt to fit into vests!

How long did anyones long previous babies fit into the carrycot? He does still fit, but already getting a bit of a squeeze and he should ideally be using it another 4 months.

firsttimeivfmum · 06/07/2020 17:40

It's crazy how quickly they grow! I have a bag of clothes now that don't fit him already. Makes me a little sad. Trying to enjoy every moment!

Caspianberg · 07/07/2020 08:53

@firsttimeivfmum - yes we have already sent a bag of some bits to charity shop, and boxed up our favourites incase we decide to have another in future.

november90 · 07/07/2020 09:25

Oh my goodness I'm so jealous of all your teeny babies! I weighed mine in my home scales last week and at 7 weeks he was 14 pounds 😂 He was 9lbs13oz to begin with though so he isn't destined to be a teeny baby I guess 🙈 He's still got lots of room in his 0-3 baby grows though so perhaps he's got heavy bone 🙈

Regarding the carrycot @Caspianberg with my first and my niece, they outgrew it due to development as apposed to size. When I mean my that is they became really unsettled in the carry cots more and more often as they wanted to look around more as apposed to just lying down! I always remember thinking it was a waste of money as it last such a small amount of time... but obviously I forgot all that and bought it again when I had to replace my pram 🙈

Caspianberg · 07/07/2020 09:40

@november90 - thanks. Its the Mountain buggy so the carrycot does turn to parent facing seat, and main seat suitable from birth so not too much of an issue i guess. He does use the carrycot in the day at home to nap, so its been worth it, even If we only get another 6 weeks or so out of it

It already feels like the tiny newborn small baby stage is gone. He is already happy sitting up on laps and standing on our legs. And definitely getting more interested in surroundings

Delbelleber · 08/07/2020 11:36

Morning everyone. We had 1st immunisations today. Poor wee thing didn't expect that!
Collecting birth certificate tomorrow so I'm glad about that Smile

AlmostAlwyn · 08/07/2020 20:01

We had ours yesterday! It was at 10.30 in the morning and she was basically asleep for the rest of the day! Smile

Delbelleber · 08/07/2020 23:23

Has she been fine since @AlmostAlwyn?
O has been fine, perhaps abit more sleepy but seems content and not upset. He even settled him self to sleep after being awake after his feed!!
What a day its been, my mum, O and I went to IKEA to buy O a cot. I got one with bigger dimensions and had a job fitting it in the car, so much so that I had to move the car seat in to the front passenger seat and put all the seats flat in the back to fit the cot in and my poor mum had to bus it back to my house which took her about 2 hours!! And after all that I realised I picked a white cot when I had wanted the brown! Next thing is deciding which room to set it up in, either my room but it will then need dismantled to be taken to O's room when he is older or set it up in his room but I'm reluctant to use his room because it gets a lot of noise from the neighbours house and also a strong smell of weed from the neighbours house.... So i think I will be having the cot in my room for a while....

@Delbelleber yes, she's been fine! Apart from sleeping quite a lot on the day, the day after she had several dirty nappies (usually one or less per day), which I guess was down to the vaccination. She was fine in herself though Smile

What a palaver at IKEA! I went with a friend to buy some shelves once and we got them all the way to the car before realising there was no way we could get them home! She had to return them!

I don't know about the cot as we don't have one, but sounds like being in with you would be the best for now Smile

Delbelleber · 09/07/2020 10:30

Glad to hear she has been fine @AlmostAlwyn. Interesting about the nappies, O had a poo leak down his leg yesterday on way home from IKEA. He does poo alot though so probably just coincidence about the vaccinations! I hope your lo resumes normal pooing today lol.

goosious · 11/07/2020 09:41

Hey everyone - hope you're all well!

My LO has suddenly discovered she can roll over onto her side at seven weeks old however she seems to be desperate to sleep on her side. During the night she's thrashing around and when she can get onto her side her eyes immediately close like she's going to sleep but then she falls onto her back and wakes herself up again! It's been a restless few nights! Has anyone had this before?

Delbelleber · 11/07/2020 19:16

I quite often put my lo on his side to sleep and wedge a pillow behind him to keep him in place.

november90 · 12/07/2020 07:48

@goosious wow that's so good that your baby is already so strong! I honestly think if my little boy slept on his front he would sleep all night...

So I've been on 2 courses of antibiotics for a Tim infection and mastits, back to back, and my little boy is SO cranky! I'm so hoping this is due to the medication and not a permanent thing 😰😰😰
