Cor aren't you good mrsf? my dh came home on friday evening at about 10pm having gone to lunch at 1pm and not gone back to the office. He rang the doorbell cos he'd lost his keys, staggered about a bit, threw up, drank a pint of water and passed out. i wouldn't let him near Luca for fear of Luca getting alcohol poisoning from his breath!

PurpleTinselPrincess · 23/12/2007 17:46

Oh dear! Sometimes I'm glad DH doesn't go out as I've never had to deal with him being drunk (although I have wished that I have had to!). I'm planning on having a good drink this year although I don't want to go overboard - the thought of having to deal with Cerys first thing in the morning with a hangover isn't very appealing!

Just checking in before I put the laptop away for the coming week or so. We're at home for Christmas morning, then over my parents, then on Thursday we're off to Wales to see DH's sister for a few days.

Cerys is doing really well and we're just loving all the smiles etc. For some reason she's been having screaming fits in the afternoons not long after a feed and not long after having had calpol so we're a bit confused at to what it is - have bought some bonjela for tomorrow to see if that helps!?

Have a lovely Christmas everybody!!!!!!!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

just a quick message`to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy 2008 !

I can't believe that this time last year I didn't even know Eloise was on the way !!

love to you all xx

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 24/12/2007 16:52

Hi all, as I'm sure is the case with many of you, we're a tad busy at the moment.

PLP so glad to hear Cerys is doing so well, I'm also wondering whether Niamh is teething a bit, Calgel and Calpol seem to do the trick.

Haven't had a chance (but promise to) read recent posts, but hope Dal, Kinki and Hammer are ok and the rest of you lovely ladies.

I'm currently cooking the red cabbage for tomorrow, and beef for tonight, am also making a stock for tomorrow from a chicken I cooked last night. Feeling pretty organised this year which is a first for me! I'm SURE something will bite me in the bum tonight when I think it's safe to go to bed.

Just in case I don't get a chance tomorrow, VERY VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU

Big BIG hugs everyone, much love x x x x

MrsFish · 25/12/2007 07:27

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL

Hope you all have fab christmasses

kinkiclaus · 26/12/2007 01:30

Hope you have all had a lovely day, and that all the little ones have enjoyed their first Christmas. I'm sitting here having just woken up from a sleep following eating and drinking way too much. There are new toys everywhere all in various stages in 'played with'. My boys have such fun, they've been completely mad and hyper, but fun with it. Anyway, enjoy Boxing day everyone. Love to all. x (PS, bloody hell Hopey, you're organised - best I could do this year is get a 'chuck it in the oven' dinner. My red cabbage came in a tub from tesco and gravy courtesy of mr bisto etc, etc!!!!)

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 26/12/2007 11:11

Hope you all had a lovely day yesterday and your gorgeous babies had fun! We've got some great pics of Niamh 'opening' her first ever Christmas pressie.

Hey Kink, not quite sure what happened to me this yr, I'm NEVER normally organised!! I have the reputation amongst my friends as being the disorganised one- honest!! Anyway, the turkey was a bit of a disappointment as it is every time I cook one, despite my very best efforts, definitely going to give up on the whole turkey affair, next year will be a big chicken or a goose. Having said that, the leftover turkey is quite nice, much better cold.

Well it's DS1's 11th birthday tomorrow, can't believe he's 11! Need to book a bowling lane, think that's a fairly baby friendly venture. We normally go to the cinema on his birthday but don't really think Niamh will enjoy the Golden Compass, or Northern Lights as it should be blooming called !

Got PIL coming tomorrow too with their bad horrid dog, joy. Will let you know how that one goes!

Happy Boxing Day x

PurpleTinselPrincess · 27/12/2007 00:07

Helloooo all!

I'm waiting for the washing machine to finish so I can pack the last bits for going to Wales in the morning so I thought I'd pop in. Has anybody noticed the counter? We need to think up a new thread name soon, although this one does go a bit slower these days...

Well, we had a lovely Christmas - Cerys has been a little angel bless her! I'm not enjoying the 'expanding' bit of course and its a shame to still have to do it at Christmas but thats life I suppose. I've been given two 'candles' to push (up the new hole) once a day - one is small and one is slightly bigger. She lets out an awful sound when the first one goes in, then pushes so hard that she wees everywhere and I struggle to get the bigger one in - its just awful! On the positive side I think its a good thing that she can push hard enough to stop the second one from going in - I'm hoping that means she will have some sort of control in the future but time will tell.

On a completely different subject, I think she may be having another growth spurt - either that or she is changing her feeding patterns. Before, she would take 4-6 ounces per bottle and had 5 bottles per day. Now, she takes 6 or 7 ounces per feed and yesterday she skipped her last feed and went right through to 8am. I'm hoping she is going to 4 bottles a day which would space out a bit more - I guess it will work as long as she takes enough from each bottle...?

I seem to have babbled, sorry! I'd best go and check the washing... We're aiming to leave at 6am and its a 4 hour drive - I'm planning on having a sleep when we get there as I know I'll be knackered after driving that much on not much sleep...

Lots of love and hugs to all of you - we'll be back in a few days time but if I don't get on, have a brilliant New Year!

Hope it goes OK with the dog hopey (and lovely to see you posting btw )

PLP xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi everyone, hope you had a lovely christmas. Happy birthday to hopey's ds1 for yesterday, hope he had a great day. My ds1 is 8 tomorrow. We both planned that all wrong didn't we hopey? I'm so glad we changed the plans for his party at the last minute. We were going to have 9 friends over for a takeaway, movie night, midnight feast, sleepover, then cinema in the morning. What were we thinking! Good job we realised dh was on-call and may not be here - so we changed the plans to 2 hours at the soft-play hell-hole tomorrow. But then we've accidentally gone and asked the family (and some friends) round afterwards for the afternoon/evening. All 49 of them. Guess I ought to get off my arse and clean up the debris of all the christmas mayhem and then go get some food in to feed them all. Eeek, its only tomorrow.

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 29/12/2007 18:55

Hi kinki and PLP, goodness I've missed posting regularly! I have to say that probably, most likely etc thanks to good old blooming Prozac I seem to be 95% back to 'normal' WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy happy birthday to Kinki No 1 son for today! Sounds like you maybe got off lightly! Don't think I'd quite relish the idea pf 10 noisy boys on a sleepover - eek! You ARE amazing though, how you manage to entertain your guests, superkink! I hope DS1 had a lovely birthday today. It is pants having a birthday so close to Christmas isn't it! Poor kids. We made our best effort. Our boy had a lovely day, we went bowling and had a 'posh' meal out at Pizza Hut, he was happy and ate a massive pizza, omg a sign of things to come, growing boy and all that.... Yes you're right, we didn't plan our Christmas babes too well did we! I have a couple of friends who have children on Christmas Day - could you imagine that! Having said that, I had a show for DS1 on Christmas morning, he was over a week late and I went into SUCH a panic, fortunately he waited a couple of days. Funny thing is it was DH who pointed out that the IBS type pains I was getting every 5 minutes might be a sign I was in labour - D-oh!

PLP I hope you have a lovely time for your New Year break. Hope your early start wasn't too awful! You are doing FANTASTICALLY well with little Cerys, it really is amazing where we get our inner strength from. Big hugs to you.

We've had a busy day today looking at and test driving cars. As we are 'Holmes family 5' we need to buy a 'van'. I test drove a Grand Scenic today and a Grand Espace, the Espace was ridiculously big but the Scenic was llllllllllovely. Think we're going to try and get the deal done and dusted this week some time. Problem is my car is SUCH a tip, don't fancy hoovering it for the PX, hasn't been cleaned for ummmm 6 months or so...!

Since I've changed my profile name my photos have disappeared. I'll get my bum into gear now and attach some GORGEOUS recent pics, including one of Niamh's first bowling experience.

If I don;t get a chance to post........
BLOOMING HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL YOU LOVELY LADIES AND BEAUTIFUL BABIES X X X X X X

Hi hopey, those photos are lovely, the one of Niamh bowling is great! She really is gorgeous. I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better. I know it's been a long few months for you. New year and new start and all that. Good luck with your car hunting, hope you can bag a bargain. We've got a Touran, well dh has. The extra space is very useful and the option to use extra seats has come in handy too. Dh has just got a new job and I'm trying to convince him to get a new company car so I can have his Touran. I can't easily put 3 in the back of mine so giving another kiddy a lift anywhere is difficult. I shouldn't moan though because my conscience is beginning to prick me running 2 cars regards the environment and carbon footprints.

I started potty training ds2 in earnest on Christmas eve (I had to start sometime when I had a couple of days at home without going out). And he's done really well. Think we've cracked it. Amazing what a kid will do to impress Father Christmas. Mind you my heart stopped yesterday when I heard they had to close the drop slid during ds1's party because some little kid had smeared poop all down it. Gee thank goodness it wasn't ds2 - I would have been mortified.

Don't know about all of you - but I'm shattered now. I've got one more shopping trip today to get ds1's birthday present then I can rest. Anyone going out for New Year? We had an invitation to a party including the kids, but have turned it down, mainly because dh is on-call so we'd probably have to take 2 cars (30 miles away) and ds1 is back at school a couple of days later and that late night will throw him out of sync. Instead, ds1 has a friend for a sleepover so his mum can go out. That's about all I can manage.

Anyway happy new year to you all!

kelmcmistletoe · 30/12/2007 11:48

Hi evryone!! Hope you are all well and enjoying your xmas with your LO's
We had a lovely xmas, BIL and family plus couple of friends over for lunch on the day, Arben thrived on the attention and entertainment from his cousins!!!
Dh has only had xmas day off so not been up to much other the odd trip down the high street but even that is too much with the sale mania that goes on!!
Quick Question- are very very sweaty hands and feet normalfor a 4 month old???? Arben's hands and feet get really wet whilst the rest of him seems to be normal temp! He doesnt mind it but am just concerned it may be something else
Hope you all have a fab new years, we are going to BIL for the evening, quiet one for us this year

MrsFish · 31/12/2007 21:44

Kinki - I started potty training Sam on Xmas Eve too We had it cracked in 3 days, he now goes off to the potty in the downstairs loo on his own now. The last three mornings he has woken up and asked for the toilet straight away, I have taken him, took his nappy off and it has been dry! I'm well chuffed. We have even been out a couple of times in the car and had no problems

Kelmcm - Ben has sweaty feet and palms too, I don;t think it is a sign of anything wrong
