More scaremongering about alcohol & pregnancy curtesy of This Morning. Why talk about women being tempted to 'have a drink' in pg. The mother in question drank spirits to EXCESS in early months of pg. Makes me to target all pg women in this way.

loonylovegood · 14/09/2007 11:51

I vaguely saw that T. I couldn't really hear it over dd's tantrum, but I got the jist! It did make me very ! Tossers! Fern wouldn't have put up with that!

Back from having haircut. DD was pretty good but didn't like the hairdryer. (I had haircut not her, she's still a bit too baldy to need one). And I like the result

Oooh yes please to secret santa.

DH keeps asking when I'm getting one of those slippers (he calls them mono-slippers).

And big news, I might have a RL Mum friend! Walking back from town a woman with a buggy said hello, and I recognised her from a group we'd been too. I mentioned as we were walking that it was nice to see someone I recognised out, that it could feel a bit insular walking round the town not knowing anyone. So she pointed out her house as we got to the end of the street and told me to come for coffee any time I was lonely. Now hoping that a) I didn't sound too needy, b) she's not played a nasty trick and pointed out the house belonging to the local psychopath.

Jamantha · 14/09/2007 12:02

I do feel like scabble, but promised myself I'd pay more attention to DD this afternoon, so better not.

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/09/2007 12:04

Plus the 'baby' in qust is now 30 yrs old. Who knows what the advice on alcohol in pg was then.

Good for you J. Am sure she's in same boat & just as pleased to have met you. Make sure you take her up on her offer.

Jamantha · 14/09/2007 12:06

Well I'm 36 and my Mum was made to drink stout every day for the iron. And she smoked all through her 3 pregnancies. (Not angry or blaming her or anything)

foxybrown · 14/09/2007 13:13

All done, she was very good - only had a little scream. Decided to come home for cuddles instead of buying jeans from uni qlo.

MWs were doing a clinic at surgery today - all those lovely bumps made me feel a bit .

andiem · 14/09/2007 13:15

ooh I know what you mean foxy I am very broody at the moment dh is hoping it will pass

annobal · 14/09/2007 13:17

Ah Foxy, you can always have another one

DS3 slept through the night to 6am this morning - I'm feeling knackered, go figure! Am rewarding myself with a bacon and egg sandwich (gone are the days when they were used as a hangover cure)

annobal · 14/09/2007 13:18

I always forget about Uniglo. We're going up to town tomorrow so I might pop in...

foxybrown · 14/09/2007 13:22

they have some fab jeans for £25, and have changed their sizing to different waist/leg, am very impressed!

annobal · 14/09/2007 13:23

They also sell on-line now I think. Might have to go and investigate.

foxybrown · 14/09/2007 13:24

Good sleeping by the little fella BTW! Funny how we are STILL tired after sleep, but am thankful its not the 'losing your mind' type of tired.

Hmm, Andiem - DP would be happy to have another.

I'm going to end up with 6 aren't I

loonylovegood · 14/09/2007 13:25

My dp is an idiot! I just put dd down for her nap and put her cd player on. She has some nursery rhyme and story cds that she listens to when she goes to sleep. Well I pressed play and madness comes out! Dp has put his "best of ska" cd on for her to listen to! Loser! I think he is trying to create his own female minime!

I'm not feeling broody AT ALL, but my dp is ! What does he want, his own bloody football team?

I always feel tired after a good long sleep annobal. I think it's because then you actually realise just how tired you are rather than just running on empty all the time.

foxybrown · 14/09/2007 13:27

you shouldn't have told me that!

foxybrown · 14/09/2007 13:27

loonylovegood · 14/09/2007 13:27

Oooo, my NCT stuff just arrived! Hooray, I can get some friends now!!

Just had a look at the uniqlo website, never heard of it before. Very nice! I like the t-shirts and the lovely woollen dress, good prices too.

Any suggestions for what me & DD should do this weekend, as we are on our own?

foxybrown · 14/09/2007 13:48

OOOh, lets see Jamantha. If it were me I'd stock up on some lovely treats and spend a portion of my time snuggled up with lo, with some good films.

Have a bath with lo.

Buy a new book to read whilst cuddling.

Can you make some arrangements for coffee with friends? Or have some girlfriends over for a leisurely lunch?

And a good long walk somewhere nice.

Also you could do some cooking/freezing ready for those tricky days we sometimes have.
