It wont last. Going to be 12 degrees all next week which is chilly for here, brrr 😆

yellowspot · 28/05/2021 17:38

@Geegrl19

Oh no *@drumst1ck* sounds a handful. Nate is loving a tantrum now too but nothing too lengthy yet! I suppose the only thing is to try to be consistent and ignore but step in if she'll hurt herself. Easier said than done though I know. They're certainty wilful.

How's everyones speech going too. Nate still not really saying much which is frustrating as he just stands crying at me. I'm not too concerned as he understands everything and meets all milestones but it sure is testing. Neither of his sisters were early talkers, perhaps I'm being impatient (me? Never!!).

Have a good weekend everyone. Is lovely and sunny here today.

Same here for speech. Said mama and dad's for a few days and then went back to saying nothing at all. Like Nate his understanding is amazing and every other milestone is on track.

Frustrating because he's getting angry now when we can't understand what he wants/ needs and is starting to have tantrums.

@drumst1ck the tantrums you're experiencing sound so tough, sorry I don't have any advice to give.

Coming in for 20 weeks here with a baby girl. Sleep with E still up and down but really hoping we'll get there before baby

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 28/05/2021 18:29

20 weeks! Half way @yellowspot!

Almost 35 weeks here, there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Dyra · 28/05/2021 19:23

Holy moly 20 weeks already?! Congrats on your little girl @yellowspot!

Just over a month to go! Wow not long now.

Geegrl19 · 29/05/2021 00:14

Oh my goodness ladies, I couldn't imagine having a newborn with Nate around! Then again, I'm ancient, lolol. Very exciting though. Looking forward to the announcements to come

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 29/05/2021 07:01

Ive been debating a travel cot for downstairs tbh @Geegrl19, so i can put baby down and know he is safe from being squashed etc by a one year old!

Geegrl19 · 29/05/2021 12:44

Haha @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE sounds like a solid plan. You won't even have to go upstairs then so even better!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 30/05/2021 05:19

Bit the bullet and ordered one yesterday, comes with a bouncer that can be used attatched or on its own so i feel less bad that i spent £90 on it! However i really need to tidy up and make space for it!

Geegrl19 · 05/06/2021 12:22

More than worth the money if it makes your life easier

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 05/06/2021 12:45

Oh i agree, i am all about making my life easier with this baby. Recently bought a dishwasher and have also stocked up on paper plates Grin

Geegrl19 · 06/06/2021 01:48

Love my dishwasher. Didn't have one until 2014. Was amazing and the thought of not having one is horrific, lok

Love that you've stocked up on paper plates, not your first rodeo 🤣

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/06/2021 12:14

Definitley not. I just hope no one puts the paper plates in the dishwasher Hmm

drumst1ck · 09/06/2021 09:44

Ah really not long to go @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE! Love the paper plates idea, might have to do that myself...

DS has his 8 week jabs today, hopefully he isn't too unsettled. We're getting the hang of this two under two stuff I think. Some days I end up crying but other days I feel like I have it cracked! DD absolutely loves her little brother. She's always wanting to cuddle him, stroke his head and gets right up in his face giving him kisses. Very sweet but the poor boy never gets a moment to himself!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 09/06/2021 09:55

That sounds sweet @drumst1ck! I do wonder how dc5 will react to the new arrival! He can be quite grumpy!

Hope the little one is ok with jabs Bear

Why is it so hot? Im melting

Dyra · 09/06/2021 10:14

GL with the jabs today @drumst1ck! Hope DS takes them in his stride. That's so cute that your DD adores her little brother. Here's also hoping that the days where you've cracked it become the norm.

Good question @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE. I'm sweating already and I don't even have being pregnant to explain it. 🥵 Hopefully the temperature won't ramp up too much before DC6 makes his appearance.

Geegrl19 · 09/06/2021 12:49

@drumst1ck 8 weeks! That's nuts! Hope the jabs ok. Sounds like you've found a rhythm.

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE no danger of anyone here putting a paper plate in the dishwasher if I used them as nobody ever puts their stuff in the dishwasher, they walk past like they're blind, sigh!

yellowspot · 21/06/2021 08:02

Just checking in :) hope everyone's well ?

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE was thinking of you this morning.... only a few weeks to go now of baby hasn't already made an appearance?!

We are on tantrum central right now and probably the worst sleep regression ever. Please tel me E isn't the only one who shakes his head constantly and screams bloody murder if he's told no?!

He's also taken to ignoring the ladies at nursery. Completely blanking them apparently so we're off to get his ears checked this morning. I'm so sure it's selective hearing and him being cheeky. But coupled with the fact he STILL ISNT talking at all is worrying me a lot now.

Geegrl19 · 22/06/2021 00:13

Hey @yellowspot sorry you're having a tough time, but glad you're getting his hearing checked too. Selective hearing happens here too!

Nate is very trying at the moment and really difficult taking him anywhere as he's just squealing if he doesn't get his own way. He is super demanding at home too at the moment and fighting everything. He is trying to talk, but nothing making sense and he gets very frustrated all the time.

As for sleep, he has been waking at 2am at the moment. Refuses to go back to sleep in his cot so ends up in bed with me. Not comfortable. He only ever makes it through to 5 or 6am on a very good night anyway but that hasn't happened for ages. I can count the amount of times he has properly 'slept through' (say 7 or 7.30am) on one hand since he's been born 🙄. I'm wondering if those big teeth are wiggling around and bothering him more at night. Who knows!

Dyra · 25/06/2021 14:27

How was E's hearing test @yellowspot? How's your pregnancy going as well?

yellowspot · 26/06/2021 20:02

@Geegrl19 how's Nate been the last few days? We've gone back to letting E shout for a bit in his cot at bed time (only lasts 20 mins max and is shouting not crying) and he's slept through til 5.30 the last 3 nights thank god!

@Dyra his ears are clear and he was responding normally to the sounds! They do think there might be a mild case of glue ear though so we're waiting on a follow up with audiology just in case.

Pregnancy is going well! Much more tiring this time round but also way less anxiety inducing which is great. 23+2 with a baby girl. Must start getting some what organised I guess.

Question to those who've had two babies around 2 years ish apart..... did you go for a double pram?

drumst1ck · 26/06/2021 20:16

@yellowspot great to hear about the ears, hopefully the glue ear will come back clear as well.

18 months between ours. We decided we would try it without a double buggy to begin with and then get one once we knew if we needed it. We tried with buggy board/sling etc first but it was so much faff and stress, especially when going around shops/parks. Ended up getting a second hand mountain buggy and it's been a lifesaver! DD will take her nap in it if we are out for the full day and it's nice to have somewhere to put them both where I know they're safe and I have both hands free.

PollyRoe16 · 02/07/2021 20:02

Is anyone else's little one taken a disliking to bedtime. arlo is tired but just fights sleep for over an hour and we have to be sat in his room or he just cries!
It's getting so frustrating. We have no evening by the time he's in bed and we've cooked dinner 😩

Geegrl19 · 03/07/2021 11:58

@yellowspot he did get better for a few nights but back to waking earlier and earlier in the night and just wails until I put him in with me. He knows I give in so that's why he keeps on, but anything for sleep. It is annoying though. Am pretty sure it's those pesky teeth as he has rosy red cheeks in the day and fingers in his mouth the while time.

@PollyRoe16 that sounds tiring too. The odd night Nate won't settle but is pretty good generally. Do you have his door open when he's going off, a dim light or anything? Nate normally has the door shut, but if he won't go off we leave the door open so as he doesn't feel isolated 🤷
