@drumst1ck Ah. But does your husband's belly look like there could be a baby inside it? Grin

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE Having a little sister is nice for sure. Equally as nice? Not having to share a room when you're a teenager.

drumst1ck · 11/02/2021 11:25

@Dyra 😂 no, he's 6"4 and thin as a rake! Barely an ounce of fat on him annoyingly!

I'm dreading teenage years if we have another girl. A 13 and 14 year old together sounds like hell on earth haha!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 11/02/2021 11:29

We currently have two boys 13 and nearly 12, they aren't too bad. But they aren't girls!

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 13/02/2021 08:37

Haha I was one of 4 girls and at one point we were all teenagers!! Don't think that was the highlight of my parents life...
We have two DDs so assuming teenage years will be interesting. I'm hoping well have moved by then so they're not still sharing! (If we ever manage to move C out our room...)

yellowspot · 14/02/2021 08:38

One of 6 girls here. 4 of us teenagers at the same time. We did argue but they're were and still are my best friends!

There's hope for you lol

drumst1ck · 14/02/2021 09:25

This is giving me hope, thanks! Grin might be a boy anyway and they will probably wind each other up even more!

Dyra · 19/02/2021 11:13

How did your scan go @THATscurryfungeBITCH?

Hope everyone is faring well.

Implant is out of the arm, diet is.... well.....yeah..., exercise is however far I can convince Alice to walk, then a bit further when carrying her/pushing the pushchair.

The TTC journey has begun!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 19/02/2021 17:39

Exciting dyra!

Scan was good. We are having a boy!

yellowspot · 19/02/2021 18:40

Congratulations @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE !! How are you other kids feeling about a baby brother?

Good luck @Dyra

We got a BFP on Sunday 😬 still can't believe it but such early days so taking each day!

Hope all the toddlers (no longer babies :( ) are doing well x

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 19/02/2021 19:07

Congrats @yellowspot!

My lot are adjusting to the idea and suggesting awful names Shock

Dyra · 19/02/2021 19:46

Congratulations on your boy! @THATscurryfungeBITCH Hope DD wasn't too disappointed. I'd love to know some of the terrible names. For future annoying DH purposes.

Congrats @yellowspot! Keeping everything crossed for you.

drumst1ck · 21/02/2021 09:54

Congrats on the scan @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE !

and congrats @yellowspot as well, hoping all goes well for you!

Think we have decided on names finally! Thought I was in labour the other night with awful cramps for two hours. Turns out it was just a bad tummy...pregnancy is so glamorous!

drumst1ck · 21/02/2021 09:54

*very glad I'm not in labour this early though! A bit more cooking required

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/03/2021 14:41

Fell off the thread!

Hope all ok!

Has anyone got / had an Icandy Orange?

Dyra · 06/03/2021 15:47

Hope all is well with you too @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE. No iCandy here sorry.

All is fine thanks. Having a weird situation where I think I might be pregnant (nausea, uterus pangs, sense of smell on a par with a dog's, orange juice tastes awful), but pregnancy tests over the past few days have all been negative. I know that these symptoms could be PMS, but I never used to get PMS at all. Just wish one or the other would be confirmed...

Glad baby is still baking away. @drumst1ck. Not sure when in April you're due, but how exciting! Due next month!

drumst1ck · 06/03/2021 19:02

No icandy either sorry @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE! Hope you're keeping well!

Oh I hate that @Dyra, why do all pregnancy symptoms have to be the same as period ones! Fingers crossed it will become clear in the next couple of days for you, the waiting is rubbish.

Due 11th April so 35 weeks tomorrow. DH had a bit of a panic yesterday when I told him I was full term in two weeks...Grin Not looking forward to the lack of sleep again but at least this time I know it doesn't last forever!

drumst1ck · 06/03/2021 19:03

How is everyone getting on entertaining the toddlers? Still only three words here and I can tell she's starting to get frustrated when I don't know what she's trying to say with her grunts!

Dyra · 06/03/2021 20:21

That really isn't far away! 11th April is an excellent day to have a birthday. He/she would be sharing with my youngest sister who is a very lovely person indeed. Plus it's the middle of spring!

As for entertaining a toddler... Honestly? Alice mostly entertains herself. I'm very lucky. She potters around with her toys and books to her hearts content. She "helps" me in the kitchen. Sweeping, wiping, loading/unloading the dishwasher/washing machine. She loves it

Dyra · 14/03/2021 13:28

Happy Mother's Day to everyone! Hope everyone's tiny tots are on their very best behaviour for you today.

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 15/03/2021 07:26

C agreed to wake up at 5 instead of 4.30 as a Mother's Day treat 🙄 of course since DH had offered to get up with her on sat she was up at 6! 😂

Geegrl19 · 15/03/2021 21:28

@littlehouseinthebigcity that's soooo early. Is that every day?

So we had the most terrible February. Nate was horrible. At least six teeth through and a whole variety of sickness raging through the daycare centre. They had a gastro outbreak that raged through the centre and took out 78 kids and staff. So infectious. Apparently cases have been really bad this year across the state for some reason. But fingers crossed he's happier now! I did though have to take him for his 18 month needles yesterday. Not sure what the immunisation program is there now, but it feels like they have so many. He had to have three, good job his legs are chunky, lol. All good so far but hoping it doesn't make him too grumpy again.

Also took him for his 18 month check up. He's a big boy and right at the top of the charts for both height and weight. Explains the achy back!

Also had to have my eyes tested again and need stronger glasses again. Getting old sucks, lol. Hope you all had a lovely mother's Day.

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 16/03/2021 05:08

@Geegrl19 ah that does sound like a rough February!! Hope March treats you better! Sickness bugs are the worst and so contagious!
I don't think we have 18 month jabs over here though had to take DD1 for her pre-school boosters which was horrible.
C is dinky, still haven't been able to get her weighed but her height is between 9th and 25th centile.
And yes, it's every morning. Today was 3.45 but managed to get her back down until 4.45 by bringing her into our bed. Any tips gratefully received! Adjusting bedtime doesn't seem to work and 1 or 2 naps doesn't seem to make much difference .

Geegrl19 · 16/03/2021 10:29

That must be so tough @Littlehouseinthebigcity no real solid advice as I've not dealt with super early wakings, but remember seeing an account on Instagram eating early wake ups to put them to bed earlier 🤷 what time does she go to bed? Back to basics, is she cold?hungry? Does putting her in your bed make a difference? Sure you've questioned all these though!

yellowspot · 16/03/2021 14:13

Hey @Littlehouseinthebigcity sorry you're struggling with an early riser too. E is exactly the same. The last 2 weeks we've finally had 6am wake ups. We got some advice from a HV who said to ditch the bed time bottle of milk and swap it for a banana. We did and touch wood, sleep has been miles better. We were having 3.30-4.30 am wake ups too

Dyra · 16/03/2021 22:55

That sounds horrendous @Geegrl19. 6 teeth in 4 weeks.... Poor guy. Least he can't have many more to come through. And Norovirus as well?! Assuming that's what it was. Utterly vile disease. One day this little lad of yours will ease up on you. Hoping he's already recovered from his jabs. We don't get our next set until 2 years and 3 months. (Merry Christmas Alice, hope you like that present...) Also no check up until they're 2. No idea where Alice is height or weight wise. She eats, drinks, poops and pees just fine, so I guess she's normal.

Those early wake ups sound appalling. We've not had anything that spectacularly early in a while (touch wood). Our cure was that we needed to move the thermostat closer to Alice's cot, so the heating was on for longer. Before then, she was waking up because she was cold. Now she (mostly) sleeps through. She's become a late to bed, late to rise sort of baby. She normally does 9/9.30pm-8.30am.
