DG just found your thread re your DH. If he is up a couple of nights a week then he needs to be assessed by a G.P or asthma nurse- he needs to be on a steroid inhaler to prevent these night time occurrances and he needs to be given a salbutamol/ventolin inhaler to take in the event of an attack.
With his breathing difficulties happening so regularly it is NOT GOOD ENOUGH for him to "scrounge ventolin from various relatives"!! oh NO!! (((Derlor wags finger sternly))) PLEASE urge him to seek medical attention for this soon.
~If he is worst at night, is he perhaps also affected by/allergic to house dust mite? (thousands of the wee buggers live in our pillows)
Do you hoover your mattress regularly?
When did you last change your pillows?

flippin eck DG, if you are already doing ALL THAT then he doen indeed need to get off his ass and see about this. Why don't you just make him an appointment and make him go (bloody men!!!) Ask to see asthma specialist when you book the appt cause a lot of doctors scarilly (?sp) know VERY little about how to actually treat asthma. MOST G.P. surgeries in Scotland have either a specialist nurse or G.P. though (you are in St Andrews aren't you?)
Bumper, it's your life and so i'd say do whatever will make your wee family unit the happiest. Don't worry about your mum, i'm sure she'll miss you but she'll be just fine. Perfect excuse for an exciting holiday for her x
Daisy - constantly PMSL at your nappy obsession

derlor · 07/09/2007 15:09

DG pay particular attention to pg 27 of andiems link (if you need this explained just ask)

LOL @ DG

bumperlicious · 07/09/2007 15:44

Just got back from the dr's and they are going to minitor my bloods every two weeks for the next 3 months or so (ouch emoticon!) as they think the over active thyroid think is temporary and will probably swing to underactive at which point it is easier to medicate. They don't know if this is a permanent thing though until it possibly resolves itself (or not).

trendaverter · 07/09/2007 15:47

Bumper are you concerned??

Yeah, a bit, it'll be gutting to have to be on thyroid medication forever, and I don't know what the long term implications of a thyroid problem are. But I guess I was expecting it at some point as my mum has a really bad thyroid problem and I was diagnosed with antibodies in my bloodstream.

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/09/2007 16:13

laughing at your sperm donor comment

I am ill. I think I have a head cold on the way. GREAT.

daisyandbabybootoo · 07/09/2007 16:54

I don't want to speak too soon, but DD's eye is OK today!

When she was feeding yesterday, i massaged under her eye towrads the tear duct and lots of goo came out. I kept this up till i wasn't getting any more (it took about 10mins) She only had a tiny bit of gunk this morning and it's not been weepy at all today! I think i may have managed to clear the blockage....yay!!
