Why Derlor?

TALLULAHBELLE · 13/09/2007 21:43

I loved the book - defo my fav Ian McEwan. The film stuck very closely to the book & is beautifully shot, great costumes etc. James McAvoy is fab too. The P&B screening is a fiver & includes nice cup coffee, only downside is it is @ 10:30am!!!I am so not a morning person.

derlor · 13/09/2007 21:47

i went in to ask about an upgrade and NO ONE would help me, they were too busy chatting so i went over and interupted them asking for some help, they (2 rude guys and 1 girl) just looked at me as if i was shit.
Anyway i explained to them i was currently an orange customer and could they advise me re an upgrade.........clearly NOT - stupid me!!!!! things just went from bad to worse and they became downright rude, anyway to cut a LLLLOOOONNNGGGG story short i eventually stormed out of the shop stating that i was going to get my phone from somewhere else instead.
i'm REALLY pissed off they made me cry - bastards!!
and breathe.......

daisyandbabybootoo · 13/09/2007 21:48

i think James McEvoy is great.

Have you read the cement garden? Deeply deeply disturbing book, but un-putdownable.

I've started a game with foxy and derlor.....sorry Ria, I didn't see your post till afterwards. It is farking crashing every 2 mins again though.

Oooh Foxy, did you see my link earlier?

Derlor, I upgraded recently and just did it all over the phone. i had a look on the website to see what phones were available, then asked which one would be free on my current price plan and I had the phone next day.

Much less stressful than dealing with wanky 17 year old wideboys in suits with an attitude problem.

I'm vodaphone, but I imagine they are all the same.

Yes I did thanks - and there is one waiting in the basket for me to check-out!

TALLULAHBELLE · 13/09/2007 21:55

Haven't read Cement Garden. Just Enduring Love, Saturday & Atonement. IMc can be a bit heavy & wordy for me.

foxybrown · 13/09/2007 21:56

Opened DS2's book bag tonight, and pulled out a sheet of Mandarin words WHAT is that all about?

TALLULAHBELLE · 13/09/2007 21:59

Mandarin???? WHY????

derlor · 13/09/2007 22:00

oh Foxy DH's brother (the one that looks like Michael from Prison Break ) is home at the moment, he lives in China, do you need some help, he can speak a bit of mandarin!!

foxybrown · 13/09/2007 22:00

I have no idea. I can only assume its some sort of business flyer, for Mandarin lessons somewhere. Not much information with it. They certainly don't do Mandarin at the school!

He's only been in Reception a week!

foxybrown · 13/09/2007 22:01

Ooh, I could take it up if he's that lovely!

riabutterflew · 13/09/2007 22:01

that is really shite derlor. we're all with virign here and do it all online.
(DH cannot get over the "youth of today" just working -if you can call it that - to earn money, being possessed by his job as he is. although, too true. I n the old days when I had a job it was always about actually doing something rather than just standing there. I never made anyone cry (not even when I used to do the cooking in a a coffee shop)

riabutterflew · 13/09/2007 22:04

mandarin? DS1 is DISGUSTED because they all have to learn french next term. Apparently he hates the French (can only assume this is to do with football or the war...)

daisyandbabybootoo · 13/09/2007 22:04

apparently some state schools are starting to teach mandarin chinese. With the increasing capitalism in China, the theory is that by the time our DCs are grown up, the majority of people in the business community will be dealing with China on a regular basis......so mandarin being taught in state schools here!

Shite there is a thing on about Northern Rock being in financial difficulties. Our hideously ball busting mahooosive mortgage is with NR.....yikes.

i'm tempted to go back and complain actually, but they'd probably just make me cry again!!!

derlor · 13/09/2007 22:05

so's ours Daisy.....bugger!

TALLULAHBELLE · 13/09/2007 22:07

We do teach French in my school - but not till Primary 5. Not quite so exotic as Mandarin.
Derlor - maybe a stiff letter of complaint would get u a free upgrade!
Daisy did u end up getting those bamboozles?

derlor · 13/09/2007 22:07

hey Foxy, it's your shot.

foxybrown · 13/09/2007 22:08

Go in and speak to the manager (who will probably be yet another spotty youth).

Mind you, everyone seems young to me

foxybrown · 13/09/2007 22:08

I tried, Derlor, but it keeps telling me Errors on the page. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

derlor · 13/09/2007 22:09

oh.... i LIKE free stuff, >>

derlor · 13/09/2007 22:10

yes Foxy, i think the girlie WAS the manager head office for me i think

foxybrown · 13/09/2007 22:10

Oh, its let me do it. Over to you Daisy!

TALLULAHBELLE · 13/09/2007 22:13

Looks like won't be long to new thread needed.
