afternoon!
what a lovely sunny day. im abit miffed - arranged for 2 managers from work 2 call today (to give me my baby card - only 9 weeks late!) - so you know what its like - got up earlier than usual, took the dog out earlier oh and even expressed at 5.00 am cos i didnt want 2 have to bf in front of the men!!
tidied around etc etc and 2 mins after they said theyd be here they phoned to say can they come 2mrow instead !! arghhhh . oh well at least i have a tidyish house, but they probably dont realise what us mums do 2 get organised for visits.

I have to say, I havent read the fly lady stuff yet but Daisys talk of shiny sinks made me get my "Bar Keepers Friend" cleaner out, so im now the proud owner of a fairly shiny sink!!

The other good thing to come out of being so organised today, was that at the end of my dog walk I bumped into an old lady down the road and Ive exchanged a couple of words to her before, but she invited us all in for a cup of coffee and homemade cake!! Its so sad, her husband has Altzheimers (sp?) and has had to go into a home, so she's obviously very lonely. Having a dog does make you meet your neighbours.

annobal · 13/09/2007 13:49

Afternoon! JBM what a pain! At least the house is tidy now and you won't have to go through it all again tomorrow.

I have 2 free-ish days now where DS1 and DS2 are at nursery from 9.30 to 3pm. Here I am thinking I would get loads done and I just end up staying out and drinking coffee. Ah well, at least I'm home now (time to feed ds3 and go and pick up!) and have organised ONE thing .

Tomorrow is another day...

daisyandbabybootoo · 13/09/2007 14:03

for your neighbour JBM. most of the people in our wee street are retired and some are very frail. It's nice being around through the day to be able to speak to them.

Unfortunately JBM, I only managed the giddy heights of domesticity that is shining my sink just the once. Am far too busy shining the sofa with my lardy arse at the moment to be bothered doing it again

Lol Daisy!
Was thinking about you Annobal, you havent been around much here have you?
Well, Ive just brushed and combed the dog (havent done it for weeks!!)
and the sun is still shining - so think I'll go for a walk around my land...will take all of 5 mins!!!
and later Im off to see a lady who my DP is working for , who wants to me sort though loads of baby clothes she wants to give away - yayyyy - hope they're nice!
Catch up later.

annobal · 13/09/2007 14:32

for your neighbour jbm.

Hi Daisy, how're things?

annobal · 13/09/2007 14:33

you're right jbm - i've been really crap and drinking too much coffee. dh & i have been squabling over pooter in evening, and he's bigger than me

daisyandbabybootoo · 13/09/2007 15:49

oops annobal, I missed you!

fine thanks, just back from the farking school run. I bloody hate it, bunch of snooty witches all of them. I think it's cos I is Scottish, but hardly any of them talk to me. Do I smell? No....am I odd? No more than the next person.....There's one woman who comes over and chats to me when there's no-one else she knows or if I'm talking to the one mum I'm quite friendly with, but farking ignores me if her friends are around or my mum-mate isn't there....witch. I think it's cos by the time I was doing the school run regularly when I started maternity leave all the friendships etc had been cemented for months. I still feel like the bloody new girl that no-one likes.

there, rant over. I never felt this inadequate before, even when I was at school.

M'off to stroke my new nappies...at least they're my friends

my playdate was cancelled as the little boy is poorly

DD woke up about an hour ago and screamed inconsolably until i fed her (don't think she was crying from hunger, but it made her feel better) no she is asleep on my shoulder & i'm too afraid to put her down so i am pinned to the sofa once again!

i got a letter asking to go for a smear test and they have asked me to take a stamped address envelope to send me back my results in Is it me or is that dead tight?!

bumperlicious · 13/09/2007 16:22

btw daisy sorry about the school run. i'd talk to you if i were there, but you would have to have a wash first Who am i kidding? i'm lucky if i get a shower every other day at the moment

daisyandbabybootoo · 13/09/2007 16:31

at your smear test results. I don't even think we get them by post....you just have to phone for them.

Bumper did she have her jabs today?

You have all this to come with the school run. I swear playground politics are worse as an adult. I've never had any of DSs mates back for tea either (and he's never been invited). I think the invite thing is more to do with mums being friendly than DCs and the only mums I really talk to all have DDs so DS is never invited. I'm feeling like I'm stunting his development by not getting more involved or asking his mates around.

Ha, you have all of this to come!

greetings bumper from someone else in pinned-to-the-sofa land. my afternoons have been like this for some days now - though today II did manage to get him to sleeep for 45 minutes in the cot. Apart from that he's either eating or on my lap and nothing else will do. Funny cos mornings he's very chilled.
I've also got DD who is a gibbering wreck. Great.

bumperlicious · 13/09/2007 16:38

yesterday daisy, she wasn't too bad then. think she might've just woken up in a bad mood ! she could have a headache or something. never mind, as soon as dh is back i'm off to yoga & it's his turn!

bumperlicious · 13/09/2007 16:39

what's up with dd sputnik?

Jamantha · 13/09/2007 16:50

Afternoon, what a lot to catch up on. Hope the toothache is under contril (Derlor?) I had it bad a few weeks back and found you can take paracetamol & coedine and nurofen, even in BF. Just alternate drugs throughout the day. Now having a nice cuddle with DD - she banged her head against mine and it really smarted. Boy, did she cry! Managed to kiss and cuddle it better though

sputnik · 13/09/2007 17:31

Right, just had to deal with a meltdown that made Cherenobyl look like a wwalk in the park....
Basically DD didn't go to sleep til 1 in the morning last night, and didn't want a nap this afternoon either. I have noww put her to bed 3 hoours before her normal bedtime, hoping this is not going to rebound on me.

But just now it's lovely and quiet.....

sputnik · 13/09/2007 17:33

God I need a holiday after that....
