SAMSMAM - I am okay - feeling a bit blue and washed out, still got sore boobs.

Poor wee Amber must be picking up the vibes as she has been really grizzly the last 2 days and when I dropped her at nursery this morning she was crying for me - she never does that, she usually loves nursery.

Must go and try to get some of my dissertation done - due in in November. Agg!
Not done much of it either. Oh well....

happy birthday edward. babyducky i'm really excited about hope's birthday too. does anyone have a good recipe for chocolate crispy cakes? all our books are packed away under dust sheets with the builders. have looked online and found a nigella one with melted marsbars and cornflakes-i think i know who's going to be eating the most.

Well LO is 1 - he had a great party on Sunday and more presents and cake than he could manage!

I'm in a real tizz at the mo regarding his MMR. I hae read so much info about it possibly being a trigger in children who are predisposed to autism (DS1 dxd in March) I just don't know what to do, the trouble is I can't find out much info about the single jabs being less risky. DS1 will also be due his booster soon but again heard that it can cause further regression in autistic children. I don't know what to do for the best. TBH I couldn't contemplate not getting them done at all as DS1 goes to so many different nurseries etc. I didn't think twice about getting DS1 done first time round but then I didn't know there was autism in the family. DS2 may still turn out to be autistic but what if he's not and the jab changes that.

has anyone else done any research into this yet?

Happy 1st Birthday HOPE and MEGAN !

RE: MMR I have decided just to go for the triple as we live near the Uni and I am at Uni - I don't know if they vaccinate in other countries and there are lots of foreign students here. It is just not worth the risk IMO. The prob with the singles is you have to wait 6 weeks for the next one.
I honestly think that the MMR is one of the most thoroughly researched vaccinations ever.

Sure they think it is just that autism starts to become apparent just at the age when your LO is getting the first MMR jag. I am sure as time progresses and we learn more medically wise about autism it will become apparent that it is a sleeping genetic predisposition which is triggered by something (we still need to find out what).

That's just my opinion though - it is a worry and we will never stop worrying now will we?

Feeling more positive today - have rested this week and had a lovely day out with Amber yesterday - just a wander around the shops, a choc brownie and mocha could really do with losing more weight but am fed up thinking about it.

I am just going to try to concentrate on finishing my next assigment for Uni whilst I have a clear non-pregnant brain now.

When do you get your glucose results GINGEME? Did you see your big boys over the hols?

WUZZ - how is Anna's walking now? and congrats on getting your job back.

SAMSMAM - how are keeping? Has your depression gone?

Work and children have been interferring with mumsnet time

We had a lovely long weekend in New Forest - great caravan site that a friend recommened, has swimming pool, bike hire (did an 8 mile bike ride =double ) activities for older children and lots of space! The friend who recommended it has also stayed in the lodges which she said were great too.

haven't caught up with thread, will try and make sense of 'new look', but it may take a while!

ds2 now has 8 teeth - only 12 more to go! Not walking, crawling with speed though! Fell out of his cot the other sunday - trying to lean round to look out the door and over he went! Opps - DH put to lowest setting straight away - I thought it was at lowest setting! Eating everything in sight and will try and leave his highchair if he sees a stray crust or something! Also just moved him off bottles of formula onto beakers of milk - so far so good!

lo's walking so well now. I take him to a playgroup Friday mornings in a church hall and he just loves the space oh and the biscuits!!
Feeling decidedly pregnant now. Im 28 weeks and its starting to slow down iykwim? Im restricted to 3 pairs of maternity jeans and a few tops. Getting boring now.
Anyway were off to a haloween do at 4.
