Hello all. Long time no post. Again. Must try harder.
Have just about recovered from the weekend. Had a lovely wedding on Saturday, in our home town, with in-laws babysitting. Has anyone recently had a horrible fit of giggles in a place where you can't laugh out loud? The vicar was slightly eccentric and set me off laughing (ended up biting my cheek v hard to prevent full blown laughing out loud), but my stifled laughter set off DH sat next to me, which also set off two other guests on our row. Afterwards, the groom did ask me what the joke was Anyway, had a couple (?) of drinks and spent the night dancing in to the small hours. Got home at 2am - couldn't believe it. My feet still hurt.
LO is tucked up in bed, and DH is on his way home from a works do at the races. Sounds a hard life.
So how are things?
Eah - hope the birthday celebrations are coming along well. What's in the party bags?
Hope things are still on the up with you and DH. I know where you're coming from. It's the old their lives haven't changed but ours have. DH still plays golf, goes to the footie, runs 50 miles a week, and needs asking or prompting to do bottles / food / anything related to lo. Every now and again I build up to a big discussion but just before I reach boiling point and boil over, he redeems himself so I forget about it until the next time. I get frustrated that he likes doing these things in his spare time, whereas in my spare time, I like us all to do something as a family. Sigh.
Wilkie - yup. I'm well up for Secret Santa. In fact am so up for it I already have one thing for the person concerned (taps nose and winks). One question - how are we going to get the pressies to the person? Will we post directly? In which case will need address nearer the time.
Sounds like you're having a fun time with J's teeth at the mo, poor love.
Grr to your DH. What is it with men and booze? Glad the Christening went really well - just checked your profile for the photos but nothing yet.....
2H - pmsl that you were a bit pissed at 2pm. Brilliant!
Dragon - what/where is Dumham Masset? I like the sound of a big scone And then you go and talk about a roast dinner. Just had to go and get a bag of hula hoops now.
Ratfly - cleaning at 11pm???? Are you mad??
LTH - hope back to school in the TophamHatt household went well. Are you broody btw?
Hi Canmummy. Hope the insomnia is not too frequent and you are feeling much much better. Any plans for Friday?
Kat - glad I didn't get you in Secret santa with that list - cashmere and diamonds . Hope you've recovered from mad mil!
Lizskankyhands - I'm part of yours and LTH's bad hand gang. I'm sure I have OCD the amount of times I wash my hands - the water has to be scalding hot too. Hmm...gin...now there's an idea.
Vino - you still fancy doing summat on Friday?
Jodie much respect to putting up a cot bed on your own. Hope his nose is ok.
UD - I keep wondering whether to give P a shower. We've got one of those bonkers ones with a big shower head, a seperate shower attachment, and water that spurts out from the pipes. Bit OTT I agree, but we like our showers. Hope job offer works out.
Hoya, or hiya even, to everyone else.
P is still enjoying nursery. I picked her up today and loved my big beaming smile when I walked into the room . Part of her report from today reads "she has been very vocal chatting away". She obviously had a lot to tell me as continued her conversation with me all afternoon. She says mama now which I just lurvveeeeeeee!
She still can't be bothered to crawl, but is getting quite good at bottom shuffling.
Right then. What to have for tea? Not sure when DH will be home given the last race was just after 5pm.
Am looking forward to this weekend. Am away on my own for two days (gasp) on a hen weekend. Off to Centre Parcs for a spot of pampering and wine. Mmm...
