And dairy-free too if needed.

It's not been the best month for a lot of Januaries has it?

LadyTophamHatt · 05/09/2007 14:23

Vino, how do I invite you from mine??

I've serched your name and looked through a few of our jan thread list but can't fine you...

my facebook is my hotmail address, do you have that? I've lost count whos got it and who hasn't.

JodieG1 · 05/09/2007 14:28

Well we now have a cotbed for Ethan He fell out of the bed again during a rare nap and his nose is all red and bruised I had to go out yesterday and buy one and all the bedding and then I put it up myself. Tried him in it last night and he didn't like it much, I ended up sleeping in the spare room with him in bed with me (with the cot pushed next to the bed so he couldn't fall out) halfway through the night.

Didn't get much sleep so am knackered now. Dd and ds1 were back to school and pre-school this morning, picked up ds1 at 11.30 and back for dd at 3.15. She had ballet at 5 tonight so more trips out. Have to start dinner soon otherwise it won't get done.

I prefer having Ethan in bed with me but I want him to be safe, hope he gets used to the cotbed soon but I'll miss him

theUrbanDryad · 05/09/2007 15:33

Jodie - we have a cheapo Ikea cot (not much use if you've already been out and bought one) with one of the sides taken off, then pushed right up to our king size double! works well for us as a compromise between co-sleeping and seperate beds! hope Ethan's nose is ok poor little man.

Z had his first shower today - i went out for lunch with my bf and he had some of my lunch (omelette and salad!) and it went all in the neck creases. i'm round my mum's at the moment, and they don't have a bath so we put him under the shower which he really loved! he's currently lying in the cot singing to himself!

dh has had a work offer today - is only provisional but would be working full time for one of the clients he works for at the moment. very exciting. really, really, hope he gets it - he could do with some luck right now, bless him!

Hello all. Long time no post. Again. Must try harder.

Have just about recovered from the weekend. Had a lovely wedding on Saturday, in our home town, with in-laws babysitting. Has anyone recently had a horrible fit of giggles in a place where you can't laugh out loud? The vicar was slightly eccentric and set me off laughing (ended up biting my cheek v hard to prevent full blown laughing out loud), but my stifled laughter set off DH sat next to me, which also set off two other guests on our row. Afterwards, the groom did ask me what the joke was Anyway, had a couple (?) of drinks and spent the night dancing in to the small hours. Got home at 2am - couldn't believe it. My feet still hurt.
LO is tucked up in bed, and DH is on his way home from a works do at the races. Sounds a hard life.
So how are things?

Eah - hope the birthday celebrations are coming along well. What's in the party bags?

Hope things are still on the up with you and DH. I know where you're coming from. It's the old their lives haven't changed but ours have. DH still plays golf, goes to the footie, runs 50 miles a week, and needs asking or prompting to do bottles / food / anything related to lo. Every now and again I build up to a big discussion but just before I reach boiling point and boil over, he redeems himself so I forget about it until the next time. I get frustrated that he likes doing these things in his spare time, whereas in my spare time, I like us all to do something as a family. Sigh.
Wilkie - yup. I'm well up for Secret Santa. In fact am so up for it I already have one thing for the person concerned (taps nose and winks). One question - how are we going to get the pressies to the person? Will we post directly? In which case will need address nearer the time.
Sounds like you're having a fun time with J's teeth at the mo, poor love.
Grr to your DH. What is it with men and booze? Glad the Christening went really well - just checked your profile for the photos but nothing yet.....
2H - pmsl that you were a bit pissed at 2pm. Brilliant!
Dragon - what/where is Dumham Masset? I like the sound of a big scone And then you go and talk about a roast dinner. Just had to go and get a bag of hula hoops now.
Ratfly - cleaning at 11pm???? Are you mad??
LTH - hope back to school in the TophamHatt household went well. Are you broody btw?
Hi Canmummy. Hope the insomnia is not too frequent and you are feeling much much better. Any plans for Friday?
Kat - glad I didn't get you in Secret santa with that list - cashmere and diamonds . Hope you've recovered from mad mil!
Lizskankyhands - I'm part of yours and LTH's bad hand gang. I'm sure I have OCD the amount of times I wash my hands - the water has to be scalding hot too. Hmm...gin...now there's an idea.
Vino - you still fancy doing summat on Friday?
Jodie much respect to putting up a cot bed on your own. Hope his nose is ok.
UD - I keep wondering whether to give P a shower. We've got one of those bonkers ones with a big shower head, a seperate shower attachment, and water that spurts out from the pipes. Bit OTT I agree, but we like our showers. Hope job offer works out.
Hoya, or hiya even, to everyone else.

P is still enjoying nursery. I picked her up today and loved my big beaming smile when I walked into the room . Part of her report from today reads "she has been very vocal chatting away". She obviously had a lot to tell me as continued her conversation with me all afternoon. She says mama now which I just lurvveeeeeeee!
She still can't be bothered to crawl, but is getting quite good at bottom shuffling.

Right then. What to have for tea? Not sure when DH will be home given the last race was just after 5pm.

Am looking forward to this weekend. Am away on my own for two days (gasp) on a hen weekend. Off to Centre Parcs for a spot of pampering and wine. Mmm...

geoRGEEweasley · 05/09/2007 19:06

God that was a long post

VinoRouge · 05/09/2007 19:36

LTH - I've found you on EAH's facebook and invited you to be my friend!

Rgee - Wilkie said she will collect and distribute addresses nearer the time for secret santa
BTW seeing as the weather forecast is good for Friday shall I come to yours and view/enjoy the new garden? If so I'll text you when I leave home and I'll be an hour from then but prob 10ish.
I chuckled at the giggles at the wedding!!!!

UD - shower sounds fun. I trickle water over E in the bath and she loves it but not been in the shower yet.

We've had a few people view our house but nothing more.

LadyTophamHatt · 05/09/2007 20:18

I've confirmed you as a pal vino.

LadyTophamHatt · 05/09/2007 20:19

eandh · 05/09/2007 21:29

evening had a lovely day been to my nans all day with my mum and my aunt met us there. Its my aunts birthday saturday and she is ellies godmother so they had a special birthday tea and cake (put some new pics on profile!!)

Went to the beach as nan lives in Broadstairs and hattie dipped her toe into the sea and was most amused by the sand kept picking it up and transferring from hand to hand, although she didnt try to eat any which was good.

Rgee - party bags all have sweets/colouring pencils/erasers and girls have disney princes clipboard, paper and pencil and boys have formula 1 racing cars just got to go and get last bits tomorrow plus get ellie a new outfit for her party ( she really needs more clothes) as she wants to wear her proncess dress not practical for soft play so trying to persuade her for 3/4 length leggings and colourful smock top and ballet pumps.

eandh · 05/09/2007 21:32

obviously that was princess not proncess!!

DH just moaning that I ma looking at more clothes when both of their wardrobe are bulging - cant help myself

wilkie she is so bloody excited its actually very cute god knows what shes going to be like on friday morning I am not telling her tomorrow night that its the next day or she'll never sleep!!

eandh · 05/09/2007 21:44

aww wilkie they are fab and dont you look good with twin girls - hmmm wonder if wilkie will have twins next time????

Wilkie · 05/09/2007 21:49

EAH - you joke!! I am certain that I ovulate twice per month. It woudln'r surprise me if I fell with twins (please god no...!!!!!!)

eandh · 05/09/2007 21:53

mmmm 3 under 3 a possibility then > actually although I am 98% certain I am not pregnant (taken my pill didnt do the deed around ovulation etc) i feel really sick tonight and keep getting paranoid about being pregnant aaaarghhhhhhhhhhhh I AM NOT pregnant stop being stupid

ratfly · 06/09/2007 08:40

Hi everyone.
Just had 3 days at work,so been too knackered in the evenings to go online - now THAT is a first
What a lot of catching up to do...
UD - congrats to dh for his work offer. And lol at Z in the shower! It's all new experiences for them isn't it!
RGEE - lol at giggles at a wedding! I had a fit of giggles once in front of my class - something a girl said just cracked me up (she didn't mean to be funny, it just kind of summed up how she doesn't listen properly). I had to leave the room for 5 minutes - I had tears and everything!
And lucky you going out til 2am .I REALLY need a night out!
EAH - noticed your argument with dh - I could have written that post. We have never argued so much since S came along. DH thinks he should still get to do all his hobbies, see his mates etc. How come he can but I can't?!?! Then he moans about me being on mn...
Must go - sorry that I left people out, but S has woken again..
x

Hi all. Good luck ttc this month PCF! Banana and custard is yummy. I love making stuff likethat for F that I can have a couple of mouthfuls of too!

Jodie I'm sure Ethan will settle into his cot soon enough. Poor guy for falling out of bed again Oops. F fell out of his buggy last week. I sat him in without the seatbelt on and moved away for LITERALLY 1 second and he was suddenly face down on the floor screaming He only cried for about a minute though and stopped as soon as he was presented with a rice cake (i really think that boy will do anything for food!) So he was obviously not really hurt! You mentioned Ethan's naps were quite rare... how much does he sleep in the day? F's just having 1 long (about 2 hours) afternoon sleep aday now.

Lovely Christening pics Wilkie. I cannot even begin to imagine what it must be like having twins (or more !) Especially when they're really little and they're feeding all the time. Yikes.

Oh Gosh just realised its almost quarter to 6 F's probably starving! Ops......

eandh · 06/09/2007 19:43

just a quick post as in the middle of decoratingthe lounge with banners/balloons for tomorrow. She has a huge pile of pressies which she is going to really excoted about although we told her a fib and said it wasnt her birthday tomorrow as she would have never gone to sleep tonight

We spent 2 hours in town getting a practical outfit for her party on Saturday (its at softplay so her disney princess dress that she wants to wear not practical) she was saying 'I am not wearing that' god help me in a few years time!! We agreed on 3/4 length brown leggings and a brown/orange/cream 60's style smock top and new cream ballet pumps looks very retro - bought the same outfit for Hattie but taking it back as it looks to 'old' on her and swapping for brown pinafore dress and top.

Good luck PCF fingers crossed and hello to everyone else hope all are okay

VinoRouge · 06/09/2007 19:48

Evening all

Dh out at football so I am supping red wine and eating chocolate - perfect. I was v pissed off earlier as had feedback about our house that people don't think the spare room is big enough and now the girl next door but one has put her house up for sale and I am positive she will sell before me which will RILE me. DH couldn;t understand why I was so annoyed so I was quite glad he was going out even though beforehand I was pissed off that he was late home and then going straight out.

I have a feeling I may wish there was more wine left in the bottle tonight!

Today I have sorted loads of stuff for my car boot on sat, got change from the bank (hope you are impressed EAH). Gonna sell everything for £1 so no need to price up.

We had swimming lesson this aft after 3 week break and Ellen was not a hapy baby.

Need to get looking for 2nd stage car seat cos Ellen is 20lb 110z (well was on Sat) so not long left in the baby seat.

EAH - hapy b'day for Ellie tomorrow. Did you tell her before she went to bed or not?

eandh · 06/09/2007 20:48

vin - I am very impressed re the change have you made laminated poter sayings £1 an item???

No still didnt tell her because when we told her it was xmas eve last year she didnt go to sleep till 1am so she'll be doubly shocked tomorrow morning!

theUrbanDryad · 06/09/2007 20:55

Zac went to sleep without being nursed or rocked!

Wilkie · 06/09/2007 20:59

EXCITED! EXCITED! EXCITED! Finished work today ready for hols on Monday

DH and I had an after work snuggle (not a euphemysm!!) at 6.15pm after J went down and we woke up at 8pm!!!! Ha ha oops.

Aw EAH - so cute about Ellie. Defo right not telling her it is her birthday though!

PCF - good luck for TTC

Vino - wine and choc. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Wilkie · 06/09/2007 20:59
