Couldnt see a post natal group so have taken it upon myself to start one! Will obviously still keep up on antenatal also until babies have all arrived!

Shall we start a list of arrivals?

Really, bless him! She was in size 2 by week 2 😂 how much does he weigh now? Indies about 13 9 at 7 weeks and she was on the 98th for height too, so she's big! I might give Tesco another try then, I found them quite tiny in the smaller sizes. I liked Asda in the smaller sizes but Lidl were so small!

IVEgotthesparklersBIATCH · 16/11/2019 11:02

knobjockey we are in size 3 too

Baby was i think 13lb 7 at 8 weeks (now 10 weeks)

Tesco leak on us (yellow ones and green ones)
So do boots (green ones)

I am bulk buying pampers on amazon and no leaks

Megan2018 · 16/11/2019 11:11

We use a few disposables still as not enough tiny cloth. Aldi disposable have been the best by far-Pampers were not good

Horehound · 16/11/2019 11:41

Oh right! Arthur was weighed almost two weeks ago and was 11lb 7oZ. He's 12+3 today so would have been about 10weeks then.
He was putting on a pound every 2 weeks so I guess he's around 12lb 7 now at 12 weeks. Seems small!

IVEgotthesparklersBIATCH · 16/11/2019 11:48

horehound what was he at birth though? BabyDECAF was born 9lb1

IVEgotthesparklersBIATCH · 16/11/2019 12:03

All the baby clothes have 0-3 months as upto 14lb so our babies being that around 8/9 weeks they are big

Megan2018 · 16/11/2019 12:59

Felicity is teeny, 9 weeks tomorrow and barely 8lb! She is putting on a steady 4oz a week and is just over 0.4 centile for weight.
She is so only just starting to wear 0-3 and only because she has outgrown length and feet of up to 1 month

Horehound · 16/11/2019 13:37

He was 7lb 1oz.
He's outgrown all 0-3 clothes though!

IVEgotthesparklersBIATCH · 16/11/2019 13:43

Gosh 8lb! What was she at birth?

Horehound · 16/11/2019 13:49

Jeez that's so Totty Megan!

DustyDoorframes · 16/11/2019 16:05

Aww @Megan2018 teeny thing!!! She's still smaller than any of mine were born!
Re disposables- Aldi's have stood us in good stead! Lidl have been fine. If feeling ethical, Naty or in the bigger sizes another brand I can't now find. Helpful.

iano · 16/11/2019 16:12

We're using Aldi size 3. DS is 75th centile. He's been in size 3 for weeks now. Less chance of leakage with them going quite high up his back. Grin

DustyDoorframes · 16/11/2019 16:16

Bambo! That's the ethical nappy brand which worked well in the bigger sizes.

Megan2018 · 16/11/2019 16:41

She was 6lb 10 but that was inflated as she was evidently full of fluid-I was put on a drip with fluids and in her birth picture she looks plump but within 24hrs she looks skinny which is how she is really.
She dropped to 6lb 3 then crept back up to just below birth weight by 14 days. She was last weighed at 7lb 11 so is probably 8lb now.
She is average length and head though so not tiny all over. HV happy with her weight though as she is following the chart for her centile at the moment. I’m only 5ft 3 though and was a small baby too (under 6lb at full term), so I don’t think she is meant to be big Smile

KnobJockey · 16/11/2019 16:57

Yes, Indie was almost a 10lber, so she's not going to be tiny any time soon! We are just stretching out the last couple of 0-3 suits- Mothercare and next seem a little bigger than Asda, and mothercare feet are a bit more generous too! Megan, Felicity might fit well in Tesco's clothes, Indie outgrew them before anything else as they are so much smaller, and seem suited to long, thinner babies.

Megan2018 · 16/11/2019 17:06

The only downside is that we were given a huge amount of immaculate clothes from a friend that had a September girl including a stack of 3-6 Christmas outfits and none of it is going to fit her at Christmas Sad
Fortunately the rest should fit her over the winter eventually so its just Christmas that is no good. We are basically going to fit 3-6 months just as she turns 6 months old I think, so will track about 3 months behind in sizing. Oh well, at least being a slow grower she’ll get good use out of everything!

Megan2018 · 16/11/2019 17:07

Thanks for that tip @ KnobJockey Smile

IVEgotthesparklersBIATCH · 16/11/2019 17:20

Yes i agree Tesco smaller fit, then Next, Mothercare a fair bit bigger. I have washed all the 3-6 stuff now as we are also using last few 0-3!

KnobJockey · 16/11/2019 17:36

Iano, I'm finding the size 3s leak in different ways! So they fit more comfortably, but it's like they are made for babies who move a bit more, not newborns, so the stretchy bits leak! We end up with a wet patch on her right-hand side where they fasten often.

Stroan · 16/11/2019 18:31

DS is currently wearing my favourite outfit, M&S dungarees which he has now worn 3 times and is already too big for. They are 3-6 months, I could cry!

He was 13lb 6oz a month ago but was putting on 10-11oz each week so I think he's almost 16lbs now. He certainly feels like he is! So different to DD who started out at 10lbs 3oz but gained weight so slowly and is now dinky - I used to be desperate for her to grow out of stuff so I could change her wardrobe up a little!

I do find that sleepsuits shrink a lot on the first few washes too. I put him in huge ones knowing they will shrink down!

IVEgotthesparklersBIATCH · 16/11/2019 19:03

stroan how many weeks is he? Do you have a pram with a carrycot?

happydays00 · 16/11/2019 19:54

I'm not sure what DS weighs, approx 14 lbs I think but we're using size 3 Asda nappies and really rate them. We're in mostly size 3-6 month clothes but he's around 13ish weeks I think so that would make sense. Total contrast to DD who was (and still is) like a string bean!

IVEgotthesparklersBIATCH · 16/11/2019 20:10

Ok has anyone using a pram with a carrycot found baby is already nearly filling it?

Stroan · 16/11/2019 20:59

@ivegotthesparklersbiatch yes, and he still fits but I find it a long carrycot. Trying to keep him in it as long as possible! His legs reach the end of the sleepyhead and he's almost too big for the baby box.

IVEgotthesparklersBIATCH · 16/11/2019 21:07

We have transitioned from moses to cot already and yes also trying to make carrycot last! Our seat unit is 6months+ is yours?
