Couldnt see a post natal group so have taken it upon myself to start one! Will obviously still keep up on antenatal also until babies have all arrived!

Shall we start a list of arrivals?

Does anyone know if you still accrue holidays on additional (unpaid) maternity leave?

Also before going on sick i was working reduced hours not my contracted hours. Should i now be building up holidays from my contract or the reduced hours?

Horehound · 14/11/2019 12:06

@BBell2 omg that sounds horrible. Poor you and Jasper! We also said we'll give it one week!

DustyDoorframes · 14/11/2019 12:26

@Fortheloveofscience I did that! I booked them for the exact same time, 2 miles apart... the HV was able to reschedule, fortunately.
@IVEgotthesparklersBIATCH you definitely accrue holiday for all 52 weeks, not sure re hours but I'd think it would go on your contracted ones? Maternity Action are good for advice.

Great news, I'd hoped they'd do a blanket for Twittle :)

Megan2018 · 14/11/2019 15:02

@Horehound
Post a picture on TNL facebook page and you’ll get advice on fit. We tried our first BTP one today, still a bit big but not leaked yet. Still been in newborn up until now but they leak a bit as she out wees now!

Horehound · 14/11/2019 15:37

Thabks @megan2018 I'll do that. I have two types. The bumgenious elemental and the pocket nappy. Some days I am ok with one and some days ok with the other...strange!

Megan2018 · 14/11/2019 16:00

@Horehound
Here’s Felicity today, they are still so big on her Shock this is a Bumgenius Elemental Joy pocket. The main thing I gather is to make sure properly tucked in to the knicker line to stop leg leaks.

DustyDoorframes · 14/11/2019 17:04

I'm trying out some of the bumgenius elementals too, with pads from our old Charlie Banana pocket nappies (loved them bit after 2 kids the outers disintegrated...) and I'm not loving the fit. Quite tempted to just buy some more Charlie bananas but a) they are dear and b) it seems like a waste, when the whole point is to reduce waste. Hmph.
I've got some little lambs the council gave us which are ok (but I like the sized ones better than the BTPs and I'm not buying two lots of nappies for a last baby). And a Totsbot all-in-one which I like but I remember didn't stand up to stonking great toddler pees. Anyone loving their nappies??

DustyDoorframes · 14/11/2019 17:11

Ps @Megan2018 what a cutie!!!!

yevans · 14/11/2019 17:30

@Megan2018 can't help on the nappy advice as we are only using reusable wipes but not nappies yet, but Felicity is super cute!!

Had our first night of Ruth sleeping in her next to me for the whole night which was bliss! Usually she gets very fed up of being put back in half way through the night and just wants to sleep with me or DH. And our longest stint between night feeds with nearly 5 hours. Praying it wasn't just a one off!

In other news, she is 7 weeks and coming to the end of 0-3 baby grows because her feet and legs are so long! Anyone else have this problem? I'm considering going out and buying some footless baby grows because 3-6 are way too big on the body for her

IVEgotthesparklersBIATCH · 14/11/2019 18:01

BabyDECAF is too big all over not just legs and feet! H&m do nice footless ones and the sizes are generous

Megan2018 · 14/11/2019 18:22

We are outgrowing length in legs and feet despite weighing so little. She is 25th centile length and 50th centile head but only 0.4 for weight. She’s almost grown out of the feet of up to 1 month at 8.5 weeks but 0-3 drowns her. I have a wardrobe of outfits she’s not yet been near as too little Sad

Horehound · 14/11/2019 18:34

Arthur is also outgrowing the length and feets. I'm sure they just make them small so you buy more

yevans · 14/11/2019 19:42

Glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem, I'll check out the H&M ones, thanks!

Geegrl19 · 15/11/2019 03:17

Thanks everyone. Will investigate if there's such a thing as a carrier library here. There's so may different ones isn't there.

I'm also now a member of the poo down the onesie leg club. Had to strip Nate off in the car as we were out. Good job I had nowhere to be. Fun times!

IVEgotthesparklersBIATCH · 15/11/2019 05:06

I would just like to say that boots disposable nappies are proper SHIT Angry

Horehound · 15/11/2019 05:38

Uh oh!

iano · 15/11/2019 07:08

Iano i will forward to you now

iano · 15/11/2019 18:21

Thank you @IVEgotthesparklersBIATCH !

KnobJockey · 16/11/2019 09:51

On the nappies note, if you're using disposables, what brand are you using? Particularly for girls. Indie wees a LOT, and she is too long as of last night for size 2 nappies, but they seem to change the shape of size 3s so they all seem to leak during the night. I've tried so many brands! I've got a feeling that Pampers are going to end up doing the trick, but I begrudge paying so much more than supermarket brands.

Horehound · 16/11/2019 09:57

Wow @Knobjockey Arthur still fits size ones! Anyway we use the Fred and Flo from Tesco and think they're great. Tried also and Lidl and they just aren't as good.
