Couldnt see a post natal group so have taken it upon myself to start one! Will obviously still keep up on antenatal also until babies have all arrived!

Shall we start a list of arrivals?

IVEgotheDECAF - DC5 - boy - 07/09/19 - 9lb1oz

The fact i feel so good on so little sleep i think is very telling of the fact my body is so over pregnancy!

Waiting about for the mw for day 5 check, cleaning the house as i have all this energy!

@Stroan glad the Colief helped! Is he on anything for reflux too?
Just had the HV out and of course I burst into tears. It is so hard hearing her cry in pain and feel like it’s impacting negatively on DS (5). Hoping to get some Gaviscon sorted today or tomorrow. Yes I remember all that energy @ivegotthedecaf but I think I crashed and burned around day 10 😅 how is baby?

Stroan · 12/09/2019 13:43

@tefiti2 we had gaviscon but it made him so blocked up that he was in pain. You could tell be was trying to pass wind and couldn't, it was horrible. I think that colic is definitely worse than the reflux at this stage so going to hold off on pushing for ranitidine. He's gaining weight well so I'm not sure they would be keen to give it anyway.

Had an awful night last night. He fed constantly from 10-6. Every time I tried to put him down asleep, he would wake up and the only way to settle him was to feed again. I thought I was losing my mind at around 5am

@Geegrl19 my midwife today said anything between 10-20g per day is what they're looking for and that health visitors want to see back to birth weight by 4 weeks... and I agree with you in the scales - I don't see how they can possibly be that accurate to that degree - especially when you take into account different floorings etc.

@IVEgottheDECAF I was just going to say the same as @Tefiti2 - I was bouncing off the walls originally but deffo needed to slow down again come day 7. Don't overdo anything.

Night time cluster feeding can't last forever... can it 😳???

The only way I know to survive the night feed frenzy is just accept cosleeping and make sure it's safe. Sitting there trying not to fall back to sleep and drop the baby but not wake up too much is just torture.

@Geegrl19 please don't feel like a failure, you are absolutely not!!!

@pinkflowers82 congratulations- how is it going so far?

@Stroan that's a hell of a night for you. Fingers crossed for a better one tonight!! Did you manage to nap at all today?!

We had a better night last night but Max seems to have caught DDs cold and I'm worried what tonight will hold. He's 4 weeks today and we've celebrated the month mark with a lot of snotty nosed screaming 😳

Ava has been a bit unsettled the last couple of nights. I've just started giving her infacol so we'll see how tonight goes. It's horrible I just want to take the pain away for her.

@DustyDoorframes yes! Totally happy to co-sleep. HV suggested it today. But R is not on board, he wants to be on my chest and upright. He fell off me onto the bed the other night! Every night is different though and some are much better so fingers crossed.

@happydays00 a wee bit, yes. It doesn't normally bother me but last night was something else! 4 weeks already! So bonkers, isn't it? Feels like the newborn days are just flying past already.

Report
BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 12/09/2019 22:26

@happydays00 hope Max's cold is short lived - it's so much worse when they're so little and can't clear their passages. Do you have one of those nasal sucking devices? Saline drops also worth a try.

My DD1 is still being sick. 6 bouts of vomiting so far and just had to strip her whole bed. Not easy when you have a newborn screaming for boob at the same time as well. DH is doing a sterling job of looking after her though while I'm with Thea but it's so tough as I would usually be the one comforting her 😔

DustyDoorframes · 12/09/2019 22:31

Oh god @BridgetJonesDaiquiri that's just grim! My fingers are so crossed that none of the rest of you get it!

@Stroan argh, a vertical sleeper! Hopefully might get easier if his reflux settles a bit? Falling off you onto the bed is better than onto the sofa/floor so at least there's that... (definitely dropped DC1 off me onto the bed/sidecar cit a few times...)

Ps while I'm sneaking in over here - has anyone heard from @easterbuns1 ? I've been thinking of her, such a tough pregnancy! Hopefully things are easier now Easter?

Hello, I tried to post yesterday but I'm
Not sure it worked.
DS2 Born 10.9.19, 7.5lb, 39+4 in the pool.

We are still in hospital. I may have post natal preeclampsia, they aren't sure. Having a liver scan tomorrow. My milk has now come in and I'm so, so sore. Really worried about mastitis so I'm up massaging these bad boys whilst baby sleeps.
I feel fine otherwise which is amazing! Ready to go home but I'm just so thankful the birth went well. I feel so much better than after DS2

@kyles101 I'll go with your health visitor guidelines and then wont feel so bad 😆

Argh to the upright sleepers. Killer. Had a few nights like that. That feeling when you wake and realise you've fallen asleep with them on you. What can you do though? Needs must.

Currently hoping to make it out of the house today. Been up since 8. Is now 12.30 and feeding again. Maybe by 1.30, so only five hours to make it up and out 😀 not sure how I'll ever make it anywhere on time again.

Heading into my work. Apparently there's gifts there so that's an incentive 😂 hopefully Mr N will comply.

At least I've got my stroller ready today. Wanted to take it out yesterday and couldn't remember how to fold it down. Had to go without it and google last night how to do it. Folded it down and then couldn't figure how to put back up, fml, I'm hopeless 😂 it might just ride around in my boot permanently folded

@iano congrats! Hope you're in the mend soon.

Sympathy for the boobs. I looked like someone off that show botched when mine came in. So massive and sore. Had to hold onto then in the night whenever I turned over as they were so painful!

Hi everyone Smile hope you and babies are all well.

DS1 was born on 11.09 via planned c section. Stilll in hospital at the moment due to a 'grunty' baby but hoping to go home today. Still getting to grips with feeding (breastfeeding with formula top ups as needed - variable latch 🙄) but am totally in love with him even if he does love cuddles and hate his crib keeping me up the last two nights!

Congrats to db92 , iano & ronald! (Hope i didnt miss anyone!) Flowers

Kyles & tefiti i will keep an eye out for myself crashing in a couple of days! I do quite hope it doesnt happen though i am loving the productivity!

Today i am full on flying solo and doing both school runs on my own for the first time!

BabyDECAF was weighed & had heel prick yesterday, he has lost 6% since birth, reweighing next tuesday. He is taking lots of milk now so i have no concerns there

@DustyDoorframes I'm here! Feeling miles better post partum than I was pre! We appear to have a baby that doesn't really want to be put down but on the whole we are doing great. Seem to have my phone in my hand less now so not managing to keep up with both threads and fb, the babies seem to be coming so frequently now it's hard to keep up!

Congrats to the new babies!

Stopped for a drink whilst out and about today and to feed, and a cute older couple came over to coo over DS. They then gave him £2 for his money box - as if my son is making me money!! Was too sweet, I have never known this before though - is it normal?? We were in a very nice independent department store if that makes any difference... and I'd brushed my hair so I don't think we looked homeless or anything... Hmm

Report
Stroan · 14/09/2019 00:13

@kyles101 a little old fashioned now but totally normal! I always felt really bad, old ladies would pop money into DDs pram and be really upset if I tried to give it back

Report
Geegrl19 · 14/09/2019 02:08

@kyles101 I've never had this happen to me personally, but how sweet. I'm obviously not portraying the right image... (starts busting out the make up and straighteners in preparation for our walk and coffee later 😁)

Yes I had this with DS kyles I found it so weird the first time and really insisted on giving it back but the old woman absolutely refused!

boodles how are you managing juggling twins and a toddler?

OP posts:
Report
boodles101 · 14/09/2019 11:19

decaf I'm doing ok so far thanks. The twins are very well behaved touch wood and it's nowhere near as tough as you would think. They are fed every 3 hours at the same time so other than changing and winding an extra baby, I'd say it's not much different to everyone else with a toddler.
I'm sure all that will change when they are actually moving around plus sleep regressions etc!
