Couldnt see a post natal group so have taken it upon myself to start one! Will obviously still keep up on antenatal also until babies have all arrived!

Shall we start a list of arrivals?

Dipsy77 I also used belly fat for mine, DH did them for me. I found one side was painless and the other side did sting a bit.

I'm feeling sore around the csection incision again. Was feeling much better but think I've been over doing things. It's not red or angry looking, it's more the internal healing I think. Also think I've got quite a bit ab separation after being so big with the twins so that's affecting my back and core strength. Plenty of time for it to close up but I'm not so positive that it will by itself.

Oh noooo baby been very pukey both yesterday and today. Projectile milk vom straight after feeds. Sad

Is she keeping anything down @lavellan? Could be reflux but could also be pyloric stenosis (rare though) x

@Dipsy77 in the hospital they did first thing in the morning, but I think as long as you're consistent with the timings it shouldn't really matter. I had a pulmonary embolism 10 years ago so have had maaaaaaaany weeks on anti-coagulants unfortunately.

@boodles101 - definitely sounds like you have overdone it. I got this about 3 weeks postpartum, also a lot of period type cramps. Also struggling with diastasis recti (I had 6lb's worth of excess amniotic fluid so almost the same as another baby but obviously not). I think I'm going to try one of those post partum belly wraps. Who knows if it will work.

Baby has not been for a poo since Saturday afternoon. My DD suffered horrendously with constipation but was formula fed so I was really hoping to avoid this as Max is breast fed. Can breast fed babies even get constipated?! I'm feeling anxious as DD would scream for hours in agony with it!!

I'm pretty sure she was already tested for stenosis in NICU. They didn't use that exact term but they said they were checking her gut and did a dye test with a tube down her nose.

OK might be wrong think that was for possible intestinal blockage. She was all clear.

happydays I've definitely overdone it today. My belly is swollen and my legs/pelvis aches. I ordered a belly wrap but stupidly ordered the wrong size. I can just about get it on but I doubt it's doing anything seeing as it doesn't fit properly.

Also meant to add that breastfeed babies can go a while without pooing. My DS didn't poo for about 8 days and then let it all out over the photographer doing his photo shoot!!

DustyDoorframes · 17/09/2019 23:11

@happydays00 I was told the rule of 6 for breastfed poos- 6 in a day is fine, every 6 days is fine. Mine were more 6 in a dayers but a friend had a baby who pooed once a week for ages, and only ever when dad was at work. Nappy change injustice!

happydays00 · 18/09/2019 07:07

@DustyDoorframes and @boodles101 thanks for the reassurance! As it happens, he pooed last night. A lot! But good to know that he could be a while before the next one. I won't immediately panic it's the dreaded constipation.

@boodles101 how are you feeling today?

@Lavellan any less vomiting from your LO overnight? Hope all is ok

boodles101 · 18/09/2019 08:35

Glad he's had a poo happydays I'm ok, still quite sore and achey this morning. DS will be at nursery tomorrow so I can spend the day on the sofa doing nothing. HV is coming out too so I can speak to her, although I'm sure she'll just say speak to GP if I'm worried!

Lavellan · 18/09/2019 14:56

@happydays00 normal non exorcist amounts of spit up overnight thank goodness. Was worried for my bed sheets! I've downloaded baby tracker so we can keep note of her bottle amounts, it's maybe just guzzling.

Hello all! Hope everyone is doing ok. Had LO weighed at the clinic yesterday (she's now 3 weeks) and she's gaining weight nicely at 7lb 7oz. Crazy though as my other daughter was 7lb 9oz at birth! This one is 9th centile bless her.

She has got a crazy amount of baby acne going on. DD1 also had it around 2-3 weeks quite badly, so hoping it clears up in the next week or so. I'm dabbing breastmilk on it after every feed to try and speed things up - who knows whether it'll help or not!

Anyone else struggling to wind their little ones? DD only ever does the most tiny burp not matter how long I try to burp her, quite often not at all. But then later on she seems uncomfortable and does the most gigantic farts 💨 I'm a bit concerned she's in pain with trapped wind. Does anyone have any tips? Should I try infacol or gripe water? She's breastfed if that makes any difference.

Report
Stroan · 18/09/2019 17:25

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri same here, feels so hard to get any wind up and then he gets uncomfortable. We give infacol for every feed as the doctor recommended it, it has a cumulative effect so builds up. We also put some drops of Colief into a bottle of we are giving him any expressed milk. It seems to help him too.

Ruby did a really big poo at 1.30am this morning hit nothing since just wet nappies has anyone else experienced this ? Just worried she hasn't done one through the day, she seems content but worried as don't want her to be constipated.x

Thanks @IVEgottheDECAF she has been doing one after every feed but that stopped after 1.30 this morning We were thinking its maybe that she was on ready made bottles until yesterday lunchtime when we switched to making formula up. When we were at the hospital the doctor who checked her was a junior doctor and put in the notes she had a suspected anterior anus which a sign of this is no poos although she has had loads before today. The main registrar came and had a look and said that although it was a little forward there is nothing wrong at all but you do start to over think things with a newbornSmile

Hello all
Sorry for radio silence, we’ve just been in our newborn bubble!
Everything going brilliantly- we had a fantastic but short hospital stay, just 1 night then I opted to transfer to an 8 bed birthing centre 15 mins from home where they offer 24/7 1-1 feeding and postnatal support. It is a bloody fantastic resource!!!
We have been here since Monday afternoon and plan to go home tomorrow if tonight goes well. We can stay as long as we need though, most people are doing 4-5 nights.

Milk is in, Felicity feeds like a pro. Latching on is getting good and I’m having little pain. First 10 seconds hurts but then eases off if we have it right. We’ve got lying down feeding nailed and cradle hold 90% of the time. Last nights cluster feeding was brutal, 7 feeds in 11 hours and she wouldn’t go down in between and had hideous wind from frantic over gulping of the milk novelty!

Felicity is slightly jaundiced but levels are ok. Sugars were perfect hence the short hospital stay.

I am so lucky that apart from the induction debacle my time in the hospital and here has been perfect. Every member of staff has been amazing. Food and care faultless.

I am also lucky to have had no pain at all since birth with the exception of a very sore throat from too much gas and air! My 3 tiny stitches can’t be felt and even my first wee and poo was painless. I was so scared of delivery so this just blows my mind!!

Counting all my blessings right now. I am very sleep deprived though, had less than 3hrs a day since birth so struggling with screens and not read any mumsnet or facebook. I will catch up when less exhausted.

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri I sympathise re the wind. Nate has terrible pains sometimes and can take ages to dislodge a burp. Or you have to wait for him to do his mega farts, poor thing. Must be so uncomfortable.

@Megan2018 Sounds like you've had a great experience after all the build up. I had a cancelled induction too so understand the frustration and worry. I'm officially old and when they give you a date and then change it you're like, hang on, why, what?! And then worry until you go in.

I take my hat off to all who managed on just gas and air. I'm a wuss and when the consultant asked if I wanted the epi before they broke my waters (induction hormone hadn't done it's job and my cervix was unfavourable so would have been rather oainful. Thanks cervix), I said a very hasty yes please!

Nate has now been gaining the weight thank goodness. Still supplementing with top ups think might be a habit now, we'll see what happens.

Is a lot more alert in the day too which is nice although still a bit of a pickle to get to settle in the day. We'll get there!

@Geegrl19 epidural was always my plan and I asked for it continuously!
What I didn’t know was that as my induction failed and my body took over there was no time for it-and due to a series of emergencies no anaesthetist either. So no-one told me I wasn’t having it until we were crowning when it dawned on me that this was now not happening!
They all conspired against me as apparently it was obvious I could do it without, but they decided it was best not to say.
Mainly because I was shouting “Someone help me” “I’m dying and noone cares” for about 3hrs. Not dramatic in the slightest lol

Report
Geegrl19 · 18/09/2019 23:59

@Megan18 😂 no, not dramatic, totally necessary! I would've been the same if no epi. Fooled me once before, was making sure that didn't happen again!

Congrats though, she is lovely!
