ok it's official
Boots teething granules are the nuts
DS was grizzly - one gob full of powder later and he's as happy as larry!

justbeme · 20/08/2007 18:44

Hi everyone - did you meet up with Bumper today TA?
Glad youve found a solution to your grizzly Sullivan!

bumperlicious · 20/08/2007 19:06

Hello! Had a lovely meet up with TA (hope she says the same!). Just pottered around the shops and had a bit of grub. I bumbled around a bit after you left TA (I'm not good at shopping with other people really, I take ages) and I found a duffle coat for DH, damaged, but all that was wrong is one of the button togs needed sewing back on - £10! Bargain!

trendaverter · 20/08/2007 19:12

Nah it was shit

But seriously, had a lovely time. JBM come on, you'll get cabin fever if you don't join in!
Wandered around the shops (I think a repeat visit to Pumpkin patch is in order), good company, had a nice (if interrupted by hungry baby) lunch, copious iced coffee, perfect recipe for a nice day out..
Helped that DS was on his very best behaviour!

loonylovegood · 20/08/2007 19:16

Look, when can I meet some of you lovely people? I'm feeling all jealous and left out! Who is coming to horniman on 29th?

faylisa · 20/08/2007 19:18

evening all. I'm going to try and come on the 29th

trendaverter · 20/08/2007 19:18

Holly!

I'll come down 1st week in sept. What day suits?
Would come beforehand but I am in essex next week and it's a bit of a trek!

trendaverter · 20/08/2007 19:19

loonylovegood · 20/08/2007 19:20

Wooohoooo!! Any day suits me except thurs.

trendaverter · 20/08/2007 19:21

Friday 7th?

I might be coming back from mums on the monday/tuesday so chances are will be knackered on the wednesday after all the unpacking etc! So Friday is best for me!

trendaverter · 20/08/2007 19:23

This is of course presuming there isn't a hate on first sight scenario at the Hornimans

loonylovegood · 20/08/2007 19:23

Friday sounds good! I shall put it on my Organised Mum calendar (my first entry!

faylisa · 20/08/2007 19:25

Daisy - Assuming that you paid the builders direct then you'll have had a contract (verbal or written) with them to make your roof watertight. Therefore it's up to them to fix it and compensate you for any damage they caused (they should have insurance to cover it). If they engaged and paid the felter to assist then and theyt believe it was his fault then they can then claim against him (or his insurance). If you hired amd paid the felter direct then you can claim against him. You shouldn't really have to claim on your own insurance and risk losing yiour no claims discount (if you have one).

loonylovegood · 20/08/2007 19:25

I'm sure I'll hate you you witch!

I've just told dp I'm meeting with you guys next week and he has gone all concerned! He said you might not even be women, I said you are not women at all, but really hairy truckers!

trendaverter · 20/08/2007 19:32

erm
I am definately female. I could prove it but I find a handshake is a more socially acceptable greeting.

trendaverter · 20/08/2007 19:42

dammit
Why do I always kill the conversation?!

Seansgirl · 20/08/2007 20:37

Just a quick hello to all, have not had time to catch up , the little man has had is injections today and is not happy at all. So off to a quick crappy internet food shop before he starts howling again!

SW has worked well for me in the past BW, I just get a bit bored when I'm restricted but was doing quite well when got prg had lost 1 1/2 stone on it, green days work well for me - I stuff myself with rice and pasta, veg curries, stir fries, noodles, blah, blah, blah....

I have just done a generally skim of todays posts and notice everyone meeting up - is there a midlands one going on???? Bumper you're not a million miles away are you??

Seansgirl · 20/08/2007 20:39

TA your converstion maybe a bit base - but its very funny! and we love it (and you of course)

trendaverter · 20/08/2007 20:41

I can't help it...it's just, well a couple of months ago it was 'ok' to talk about discharge and mucous plugs and stretched bits and piles and so on, then all of a sudden it stopped, and I just never recovered like everyone else, I am still disgusting.

daisyandbabybootoo · 20/08/2007 20:51

LOL TA....but people would certainly remeber you. I'm glad you had a lovely meet-up.

Thanks for the advice on the roofers Faylisa...we thought of that this afternoon. the work is guaranteed for eight years and he did say today that if what he's done hasn't helped then they will have to do it again.

We need to excavate DHs equipment out from under mountains of our stuff and rubble from when the old roof was taken off before we can assess the damage. Fingers crossed for a dry weekend.

I'm off to the docs tomorrow to see about this boob. the other one has started to get sore so thinking it may be thrush after all. Derlor...if you are lurking...what were your symptoms?

i saw my new nephews today...so small and so so sweet. they are both blond and gorgeous and will look great in their tie dye vests

TA, in 'real life' (HA!) I'm the same I have to talk about all stuff openly I spend alot of time apologising strangely. Only today i recounted my horrid birth story in graffic detail to a friend not sure she wanted to know about blood clots and mucus and so on........

daisyandbabybootoo · 20/08/2007 20:54

....and the good news is that my BIL and SIL have six bin bags of girls clothes (0 - 2.5 years) that will be winging our way soon as they now have no need of it...and they get given lots from a friend of theirs who only ever buys designer labels . I'm such a pikey, its great!!
