I'm back...telly's crap and DH has been smoking smelly cigars again so cuddles are being withheld by me in protest!

Have those with school age DCs done the uniform fit check/buying of new if required yet? DSs feet haven't changed size and his shoes were new about six weeks before the end of term, but will I be scarring him for life and making him a classroom pariah if he doesn't start the term with shiny new everything? even if it will be trashed after a week of climbing trees and sliding down the hill on his knees/bum. Gah this parenting lark just gets more complicated as they get older.....

On the dieting front...DH has worked out that if I cut out wine and boiled sweets I should lose 2-3lbs a week without even trying . I am a sugar soaked alcoholic

Right, loving you and leaving you girlies. I have been on here for hours and I really should make the most of DH before he goes back to work after 2 weeks off Will miss him and miss the help, though a tiny part of me is looking forward to getting back to my own routine and my own space !

faylisa · 18/08/2007 22:19

Hi Dasiy/ Bye Daisy!!
Just jumped on here quickly and gonna love you and leave you!!
Holly your Crocs came super quick!! Glad they're so comfy - did you get the pearl ones?

I have to say that I wont be joining you for your dieting - oooohhh noooo - I couldnt be doing with all that calorie counting - I'll just have to walk super fast with the dog whilst holding my tummy in tight!

BTW TA - who had your dog whilst you went to the Horniman?? ( I do wonder about some weird things dont I?)

and thanks all for the crusty cheese reports

trendaverter · 19/08/2007 08:06

Hey JBM, Dog was in his crate while I was out. He's fine in that for a few hours. Not sure what I am going to do with him when I go back to work though, will have to find a dog sitter, I won't leave him on his own all day.

trendaverter · 19/08/2007 08:07

Bumper I am with you, I shun tescos. I hate them. I just wish they didn't do such decent reasonably priced own brand nappies...arrggghhhhh

bumperlicious · 19/08/2007 08:39

i was reading somewhere on here (don't think it was this thread) that aldi (or was it lidl?) do dead good nappies, in fact someone even suggested they were made by pampers.

i've been using nature babycare & really don't like them (but have loads of pack that i bought on offer!). have put dd in size 2 coz they come up really small but they only seem to get longer not wider round the belly. and dh compared the crotch to pampers and the nature baby care are huge, so they must be pretty uncomfortable. They seem to be big and small in the wrong places!

trendaverter · 19/08/2007 08:47

I am not a fan of nature babycare - or pampers actually, I find they both leak with DS but I heard other people rave about them so perhaps it's just DS's shape!

I like huggies and tescos, never a leak yet and they don't seem to have any areas of pressure like around the legs, they look fairy comfortable for him.

I am willing to accept he is a funny shape though as 'Real' nappies don't fit him very well either!

trendaverter · 19/08/2007 08:47

I have a lidl nearby, I will try some and report back!

bumperlicious · 19/08/2007 09:41

Yeah, I think I'm going to check out the aldi ones.

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/08/2007 11:48

aldi nappies are really good (a friend uses them and they look good), but they only do bigger sizes. I think they start at size 3.

Trace, if you're lurking, I posted on your other thread, but wanted to say fingers crossed for all the scan tomorrow and I hope they get to the bottom of it all soon so you can start to deal with things. Chloe sounds like a really brave little girl and she is so lucky to have such a strong mum looking after her.

Having a BAD day today and feeling really weepy and low. My poor DS has been bawled at for something pretty minor so I'm feeling really shitty about that too. DD is really girny as well so I've handed her to DH and have come to hide in the back room

AAAARRRGGGHHHH - am just getting to grips with facebook & now a long lost friend has invited me onto WAYN - where are you now. I can't cope.

bumperlicious · 19/08/2007 12:44

daisy, I just bought some size 2 ones! I'll let you know how they go.

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/08/2007 13:04

maybe it's just my aldi that doesn't sell the smaller sizes.

I am officially a convert to cloth. I love the patterned wraps and things and the colourful nappies. I put her in a disposable when we were out yesterday though and the chemical smell was horrible. her nappies smell of fairy and are lovely. i can see me spending a fortune on them!!

WAYN???? is there no end to these things?

OP posts:
trendaverter · 19/08/2007 13:40

I hate WAYN
I also hated Myspace
I like Facebook...it has put me in touch with a lot of old mates

Righty ho, good old costco, I am off to buy a sat nav for £140 so I know where I am going tomorrow

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/08/2007 16:02

I've updated my profile with some pics, but you've probably all seen them on facebook, LOL.

It's quiet here today!

OP posts:
trendaverter · 19/08/2007 16:04

very quiet....
I have my satnav, woohoo!
I now have no reason to get lost.

And I have just sent DH off in a hurry to order a cake from M&S for DS's party next week.

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/08/2007 16:11

I love my satnav, but it wasn't playing last time i tried to use it . kept telling me it couldn't find the satellites

it's just me and a sleeping DD here at the moment...it's just bliss

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 19/08/2007 16:20

Dh has just come home with chocolate for me....I do love that man!!

justbeme · 19/08/2007 16:36

Hi!
Ive just put Lucy in her first Lidl nappy (bought them in the week) so will report back - its the Midi size , but looks massive!! Ive been using Pampers but had a few leaks of wee and poo.

Ive done NOTHING today - DP has just taken the dog and Lucy out for a walk and I really couldnt be bothered - I may even go for a lie down. DP's off work all this week - God knows what we're going to do - although I may persuade him to take me to Hever Castle in Kent if the weather perks up.

trendaverter · 19/08/2007 17:28

Have just given DS some calpol - he has a temp and is all flushed and grizzly. He has slept most of the day.
Mum reckons he might be teething (I am inclined to agree with her the amount he is grizzling and drooling). I am not really worried, but hope he is ok for tomorrow!
