Oh trace, what a nightmare for you. Poor chloe, gosh you guys are really going through the mill. How's things with the rest of your family too?

trace2 · 18/08/2007 08:59

thanks all i just want answers now am really scared, ill lose her

Charlie999 · 18/08/2007 09:08

Trace - thinking of you all. She's in the best place for her at the moment.

TA - we have a mid-range TomTom (510 I think?) and its bloody fantastic. Got it from PC world but do a price search on Kelkoo. Honestly don't know how we ever managed without it - especially for holidays.

for all your sleeps - DD guzzled 6oz in 10 mins flat at 4am but then went to 8.30am so can't complain really....

loonylovegood · 18/08/2007 09:11

I don't know if this'll help, but I used to have fits when I was a baby. Frightened my parents half to death, but I'm fine now. I think I only had 3 or 4, but no-one knew why I had them and they just stopped happening. My mum was describing to me how frightening it was when I had the first one. I went blue and stopped breathing, she thought I was dead and I was blue lighted to hosp.

Hope you are ok trace and everything works out, you are brilliant xx

annobal · 18/08/2007 10:28

Trace, I'm so sorry. Poor you and poor Chloe, you must just want answers now. I hope that it calms down.

TA, sorry you had a horrible day - it's awful driving with screaming children. I found a mirror often worked at that age to distract.

On the poo front Sputnik , a friend of mine's dd did this and she used to put her on the toilet and hold her legs apart so that she couldn't hold it in. Don't know if it will work but may be worth a try - hth.

annobal · 18/08/2007 10:30

btw trace, i think you are coping amazingly.

foxybrown · 18/08/2007 10:34

trace, thinking of you and chloe. really hope that she and you are ok. let us know if there is anything you need, we're here if you need to vent, cry, talk xxx

loonylovegood · 18/08/2007 11:01

Just got my crocs! They are so comfy I can't believe it! The bobbly bits in the soles massage your feet as you walk! I am officially a convert! I'm still not going to buy those farking awful sling back ones though!

foxybrown · 18/08/2007 11:03

do they come in leopard print?

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/08/2007 11:10

Trace...so sorry to hear about Chloe , thinking of you all and praying for her to get better . If you need anything....

Lol at you Holly, you'll be shopping in Boden and having Waitrose deliver next

And finally....listen......can't hear antything? I know, great isn't it? Just packed the rellies off and can get a bit of peace. DH is taking the DCs out and I'm going to sit in the silence and smile quietly to myself

Had another arts and crafts day yesterday and had a tie dye extravaganza. We now have tie died t-shirts, baby vests, muslin squares. I'm thinking of trying a wee sideline in tie-dyed baby clothes as T-shirts and vests look great. The muslins not so great...just looks like they've been washed with something that has run, but with a bit of practice they could look better.

I am officially a hippy! No leopard print though foxy ! I may buy another pair though! Mine cost me £17 with free postage from this website, but they are selling for £25 on ebay. Potential money making opp!

I love to tie dye daisy! It's super fun! I did loads of it for my gcse textiles. I tie dyed loads of patches in different colours and made a skirt! It was sooo pretty!

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/08/2007 11:25

Ohhhh and our excitement for this morning.....my SIL delivered twin boys, Louis and Charlie, naturally (well done her!) at 3:30 and 4:00 this morning after some pains and a show at teatime yesterday. They weighed 6lb 1oz and 6lb 3oz. . I feel all weepy and emotional about it and want to have another one now!!

DH says NO!

loonylovegood · 18/08/2007 11:28

How lovely daisy! What great weights for twins! LOL at you feeling broody, my dp would have loads more...he was only talking this morning about his dynasty!

loonylovegood · 18/08/2007 11:29

Oh and how brilliant that she delivered them naturally! That is so cool! When are you going to see them?

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/08/2007 11:36

Not sure when we'll see them, as BIL didn't know how long she would be in the hospital, as one of them needed a little help breathing. They are in the neo-natal unit and SIL was still in the delivery suite as the post-natal ward was full! Kids other than siblings aren't allowed on the post-natal ward either, so we may have to wait till she is home!

I'm so pleased for them as these babies, and their daughter Ellie were IVF, and she had real problems with bleeding until about 20 weeks with the twins.

bumperlicious · 18/08/2007 13:47

holly, are they actually cute? what colour did you get?

daisy, bet you don't know what to do with yourself!

hi foxy, feel like we haven't spoken in ages

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 18/08/2007 13:56

Oh.....I've just caught up

Trace - I'm really thinking of you and little Chloe this weekend. She has such a happy little smiley face on her pictures - hopefully you'll see her smile very soon! She's in the best place to figure out whats causing her troubles - so fingers crossed for you hug

TA - Hope the doggie is ok? I know what you mean about not being able to navigate - especially when they cry! I drive around like a freekin headless chicken!

I've got my diet sorted Bumper - I've downloaded my weekly plan and my personalised shopping list - and I'm quite excited - last time I did it I lost a tonne of weight, felt amazing and had loads of energy (really need that at the mo!) so bring it on! I'm motivated!!!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 18/08/2007 13:57

Oh - forgot!
Congrats Aunty Daisy! Glad they are all fine!

faylisa · 18/08/2007 14:11

I've just had a look at SweetFeet and ordered myself some of those crocs too - and I did an Ocado shop for the first time yesterday - whatever next!?!?!?!

I'm really sorry to hear about Chloe . My DS was taken into hospital at 10 days old as he woke in the night bright red with a really high temp - and they thought it could be meningitis. We had a really scary 4 days in hospital while they did lumbar punctures, xrays and a million blood and other tests. Thankfully it wasn't meninigitis. It was truly terrifying and I know that awful feeling that you might lose them - thankfully he's absolutely fine now and he'll never remember it. Trace - I'm sure your little girl will be fine too and she's definitely in the best place. I'm sure they'll do everything they can to make her better. I know how horrid it is and i'm thinking of you both.

faylisa · 18/08/2007 14:14

ps - congrats on the twins.

TALLULAHBELLE · 18/08/2007 14:15

ok quick catch up before round 2 in the battle to make a very tired DD take a feckin nap!!!

Thinking of you Trace. Am sure I mentioned before my friend whose DD had very similar episodes to Chloe. She is a very healthy 7 year old now & am sure Chloe will conquer this too.

Congrats to Auntie Daisy. BTW - how's the routine going? Did u go with GF? I have ordered baby whisperer, hopefully it will answer all my prayers .

No crusty ears here but boggin hands & feet. DD is a manky wee midden.

I put DD down in the dark at night, (I go to bed at same time & couldn't sleep with a light on). I put the hall light on & leave door open a crack so I can see to feed her at 4am, then all dark when i put her back down. Do babies sleep better with a light on? Should I be doing this ? As mentioned previously she doesn't sleep during the day but I have tried her in every conceivable combination of environments.

bumperlicious · 18/08/2007 14:25

Hi tallulah, I was thinking about you earlier. How are you managing on your own? In answer to your question I think it's probably better to get DD used to sleeping in whatever way suits you.

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 18/08/2007 14:29

Tallula - I started to use one of these a couple of weeks ago when I wanted DS to have a nap - cos he falls asleep within 3 mins of being in it - and I have my hands free to do stuff. Now he's used to having a sleep at certain times of the day and will pretty much nap anywhere - so I'm very

westcoaster · 18/08/2007 17:28

Trace

Haven't been on for ages but saw your post and just wanted to say hope everything is OK with Chloe. My DD did a similar thing at 14 days and had a lumber puncture etc etc and was in an isolation unit for 5 days while they checked her out and pumped her full of anti-biotics and anti-virals. Never found anything and doctors were never able to explain it. Closest they came was a very untechnical description of her brain having a 'short circuit' as it developed. Apparently it's not that uncommon and in the long term has no effect but it scared the hell out of me at the time. (DD is now a strapping 5 yr old, BTW) Chloe probably will be very sleepy still - the seizure will have exhausted her plus any drugs may make her sleepy too.
I hope Chloe is doing OK and that she's back to her old self soon. Look after yourselves.

bumperlicious · 18/08/2007 17:32

Hi westcoaster, how are you doing? I'm sorry to hear you went through a similar thing to trace. It's nothing but worry from now on with kids isn't it?!
