Bumper, you can buy some powders over the counter at Boots - Ashton and something (sorry, can't remember what). Basically they are like teething powders and contain chamomilla (or whatever its called). Might be worth a go for a calming effect. Teething powders probably do the same thing.

Could I be any more vague or confusing???

TA - don't worry about driving there, its very straightforward. A205 (south circular all the way). You are basically heading around it to Forest Hill (its just before you get to Forest Hill, so if you get there, you've gone too far and have driven past it).

I'll be taking a picnic. I'm anticipating it'll be busy in the cafe, but there's a big conservatory right next to it if its raining which has lots of room for buggies and children.

Will we be wearing a red flower, or carrying a copy of the FT? (Isn't that what you do on a blind date?)

foxybrown · 15/08/2007 16:29

That's good Annobal - it'll distract everyone from the woman who has too many children and can't cope taking them out so is screaming "NO YOU CAN'T HAVE A MILKSHAKE. NO YOU CAN'T HAVE AN ICECREAM AND IF YOU ASK ME AGAIN WE ARE GOING HOME". That'll be me then!

annobal · 15/08/2007 16:34

LOL I know what you mean - I'm not sure how many times i can threaten with going home before I actually have to come good with my threats

annobal · 15/08/2007 16:36

Think they're called ashton and parsons - teetha do something similar

foxybrown · 15/08/2007 16:38

Thats them!

TA - I've assumed you are coming from the West - I think you live in Reading, or is that Bumper?

foxybrown · 15/08/2007 16:39

Asda are apparently doing Ben and Jerry's ice cream for £2.

Thought you'd all want to know.

daisyandbabybootoo · 15/08/2007 16:48

bumper...try just drip feeding it into her from the syringe....difficukt when they are screaming the place down i know...but i'm all out of advice on this one. DD quite liked it, but she was used to infacol. if you've been using dentinox maybe she just has bad associations with syringes!

foxy , its not been too bad. the oldest one who is eight is a real sweetie. i used to look after him loads before ds came along so we have a great relationship.

dd did another 11 hour stretch last night

that's the upside of my life at the mo...the downside is I've just had a farking period!!! i read on kellymom that it is normal for them to return soon after bub is sleeping through the night. bit of a trade off, but right now i'd rather have the sleep!!

up to speed with my re-useable nappies now and feeling virtuous. i've only used one disposable since sunday afternoon!

i couldn't stand the suspense so sent her a message asking who she was, nosey cow that I am

trendaverter · 15/08/2007 17:07

Yep I'm in Reading!
DH will help with how to get there tonight, I am rubbish.

I am shitting bricks, I have been asked to do the photos for a wedding, I am out of practice and have no idea how much to charge

bumperlicious · 15/08/2007 17:10

Thanks for the advice girls. She liked the infacol, but you are right I must've been the dentinox that we've given her since.

well done on the nappies daisy! Gold star for you

good luck with the meet up tomorrow!

wish you hadn't mentioned about the B&J foxy! I've just looked down at my stomach and decided that I really need to do something about it. so each day I am going to tell you all the bad things that I have eaten in the hope that seeing it all written down will guilt me out of it.

Welcome to the June Girls Weight Watchers club!

My name is bumper and I weigh 10 stone 12lbs, I want to weigh 8 and half stone, but I will settle for 9 stone. Today, the bad stuff that I have eaten 5 extremely chocolately biscuits (the big chucky round fox's ones, mmmmm...)

Feel free to join in or just leave me to my chocolate induced guilt!

trendaverter · 15/08/2007 17:17

I hated the reuseable nappies. Actually I liked them but DS is a funny shape and even clothes in the next size up wouldn't fit while he was wearing them... and these wear the slimline ones! Also it took them 7 hours to dry on the line in full 23 degree sunshine and quite frankly that pissed me off.

Then I discovered Tesco were doing 1/3 off nappies and I quite like their nappies, plus they are cheap, so I have gone all anti-eco-friendly and bought 6 packs.
Pah.

My name is Trendaverter and I weigh too much. Last time I got weighed I was 8 months preggers and 16.5 stone but I think I am about 14.5 stone now. My BMI is 30. I am a size 18/20 and would like to be a size 14.
I like chocolate hobnobs and digestives and I drink milk from the carton. This may be my failing

Today I have had a bowl of honey nut shreddies, 2 cups of tea and a cajun chicken sandwich on wholemeal bread. Dinner (when I cook it) will be mushroom ravioli in a pepper, spinach and tomato sauce.

bumperlicious · 15/08/2007 17:49

TA, that sounds like a healthy (and yummy) day of eating. Chocolate and cake are my failings, but also lack of exercise!

Have you been watching that programme "cook yourself thin" it's really good!

Charlie999 · 15/08/2007 17:52

TA - from the photos of your DS and those on your website, you don't need to be nervous about being out of practice - you are obviously a fab photographer

And IME you can charge a bloody fortune for wedding photography and get away with it

foxybrown · 15/08/2007 18:32

how about that chocolate and beetroot cake on that show??

trendaverter · 15/08/2007 18:41

That looked yum. I like that show.

Can't charge too much Charlie, it's for a mate Thanks for the compliments though. I am a bit out of practice, haven't done it properly in over a year.
I did it semi-pro for a while, considered doing pro but as it is I sell a few prints here and there and I have an agency that sells stock photos for me, that's enough!

foxybrown · 15/08/2007 18:55

if i ever get wed, i'll book you TA!

faylisa · 15/08/2007 19:08

Hi everyone - I've 'met' a few of you on facebook so thought I'd come and say hello here too. I'm 32 with a 23 month DD and DS was born on 1oth June 2007. I live in Teddington.

trendaverter · 15/08/2007 19:18

foxy!

Charlie999 · 15/08/2007 19:35

Hi FayLisa

My DD was born 2nd June - just a few days before you .

Welcome.

When I get a chance, I'll find you on Facebook!

trendaverter · 15/08/2007 19:54

Welcome Faylisa!

trendaverter · 15/08/2007 20:13

Where is everyone today?

loonylovegood · 15/08/2007 20:32

TA, I'm here!

I won't be able to make the Hornimans tomorrow, but can do the next one (29th?). Dp is away, so won't be able to pick me up from the station on the return journey. I am very jealous though of you all meeting up! I wanna come!

Foxy, I have some £2 B&J ice cream! Chocolate fudge brownie! Yum! I am fat and don't give a shit! Hooray!

bumperlicious · 15/08/2007 20:34

Hi faylisa, welcome to the june thread

Foxy, you reckon that cake is nice? It looked gorgeous! Even the caesar salad looked delicious. I'm thinking of buying the cook book, although they do have the recipes from the show online.

loonylovegood · 15/08/2007 20:39

BTW I have no idea how much I weigh! It depresses me too much! Even when I was a size 10 I was about 12stone! I am tall and very heavy person...I think I have heavy bones!

My mum also made summer pudding and I ate loads of it with cream!

faylisa · 15/08/2007 20:46

I'm too fat too! A big size 20 now - my first aim is to get to a size 18. I dream of being a size 16. My biggest problem is that I just love eating!
