Don't know, the ante-natals certainly seem to be more active than the post natals. Maybe we're all neglectful mothers .

Elibean · 08/08/2007 12:52

dd's food moderately sorted, just wish I could take a fireman's hose and jacket for travelling BLW mealtimes

FGS, sounds upsetting..its horrid when they're unwell. I'm glad she's herself, though, thats an excellent sign Hope its a fast one.

AH I hate packing. No, its the decision making bit I hate. Do I really need five pairs of trousers and three dresses? Or more? Or less? Will dd be sick on me three times a day or will it be cold/hot/rainy/monsoon?? Maybe not the latter, in Brittany....

I'm procrastinating again, and if dh finds me online he will throw a hissy - he's dd-minding so I can pack

September! xx

weirdbird · 08/08/2007 16:42

Aggghhh

Sick everywhere, she seemed ok this morning, so I gave her lunch, went to change her nappy a bit after and up everything came, lunch, medication and her mid morning b/f, uurrrgghhh, poor thing really wasn't happy, she was covered from head to toe.

Two sick babies

I just have amoment but wanted to get the new thread on my list...

FunkyGlassSlipper · 08/08/2007 19:09

Hmmm. It has been a very long day. DD2 has been glued to my hip all day. Fortunately DH stayed off work and entertained DD1 as there is no way I could have handled both. DD2 has managed some toast and breast milk and no more vomiting so hopefully we're over the worst.

I'm knackered though. WB - hope you're day is improving....

Indith · 08/08/2007 20:21

just for me?

Have a fab holiday Eli!

Oli! 7 hours! Amazing! Hope it continues to go well.

Hope the poorly ones are doing better FGS and WB

I'm allergic to my house, had a huge allergy flare up since moving in and it won't go away. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Think ds is getting another tooth, starting same way he did for the first one and has hardly touched solids at all today. Hey ho.

babypowder · 08/08/2007 20:54

FGS and WB - hope the LOs are feeling a bit better. You must both be shattered!

I'm starting to feel a tad left out on the tooth front. DD2 still has none, and there's no sign of them coming through. Not that I'm complaining, mind!

I really should be writing thank you notes on DD1s behalf, but I can't be ar*ed. I hated doing them as a kid, and I'm still not all that keen now

babypowder · 08/08/2007 20:56

And I keep seeing 'Let yourself go' on the righ hand side of the page and wondering if its a sign that I should just go downstairs, drink wine and eat chocolate

FunkyGlassSlipper · 08/08/2007 21:59

lol @ BP letting go. My DD1 didnt get her first teeth until 8.5 months and my niece was 12 months so there is time yet

Indith - hopefully you'll get used to the house and sensitivities will die down...

SachaF · 08/08/2007 22:07

Mmm, just had a glass of wine with dinner, which also had wine in it, and being drawn to the chocolate......
In my defence I have run 5k tonight.
No teeth here either (in ds's mouth, obviouly I have some .
House went on the market today...life is moving on fast.

babypowder · 08/08/2007 22:21

Sacha, you must be so fit, running like that. The only exercise I get is the 2 mile walk to and from town with DD2 in the rucksack on my back. And I didn't even do that today!

Enjoyed my glass of wine, though DD2 has been in a real grump today, and DD1 is a real handful at the moment. But they're both asleep, looking like angels. Awwwwww.

weirdbird · 08/08/2007 22:24

No teeth here either, ohh that reminds me need to go to dentist makes mental note..

Very long day, but resigned myself to not actually getting anything done and stuck a DVD on, am so much better at coping with days like today than I was with DD1.

Didnt give her any more food, just lots of little bf's on and off all afternoon and evening, but I cannot believe she did not have 1 nap today!!!

Awake from 8am through till 8.30 this evening.

FGS - Hope your LO is feeling better!

Indith it might be worth getting the carpets cleaned! (You can hire them) In our previous place the owners had had 6 cats, my SIL didnt stop reacting till after we had them cleaned despite how many times we hoovered!

BP - I hated writing thank you letters as a kid as well, managed to write them for DD2's birth, but failed for the gifts she was given at her dedication

Had the same scenario with walking to school, I hated walking to school when I was a kid and was soooooo pleased to leave school and thought I would never have to do so again, didn't follow through the thought process after having my own that I would then have years of walking "them" to school.

welcome back indith

jabberwocky · 09/08/2007 04:16

Well ds2 has the teensiest bit of a bottom tooth showing now. Of course, he's one of the oldest at almost 9 months.

His sleeping is mightily improved as well. Maybe it was the tooth keeping him up after all

Olihan · 09/08/2007 08:16

No teeth here yet, either.

WB & FGS, hope today is better and the los are over their bugs.

Not as good last night, but he had 4.5 hours sleep in the day yesterday so was down on milk feeds. He's also decided he prefers blw and is refusing to eat off a spoon so his teatime food intake has gone down - bah. Mind you, he did let MIL put him to bed which is another big step forward so I'm not too bothered.

Spent most of yesterday rowing with dh - the usual 'you don't understand how hard being a SAHM is' v 'you don't understand what it's like going to work and not seeing the dcs' and the 'I do everything round the house' v 'you just criticise and don't appreciate what I do' type rows. Please tell me we're not the only ones who do this. I'm feeling really hacked off at the moment, just a bit ground down by the dcs and the relentlessness of motherhood but dh is taing it personally and trying to 'fix' things which isn't what i want him to do, but I don't really know what I do want him to do iyswim.

Sorry, enough bellyaching!

Gloria42 · 09/08/2007 09:10

Olihan, I seem to have that same argument with DP on a weekly basis. I think that (try as they might) DPs/DHs can never understand what it's like for us. Sometimes I think DP believes my life is one social whirl of coffee and cakes with other mums!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 09/08/2007 15:14

helloooo.

DD2 seems better today and is at the moment in her cot after a TWO HOUR nap.

Dd1 is also sleeping so I've just managed to gets lots of filing done (yawn).

Hope you're all ok today.Olihan - Competitive tiredness is very wearing. DH and I at it all the time

LowFatPumpkinJuice · 09/08/2007 16:49

Hope Eli has a nice holiday! I have our to plan and pack for when we go to family and Butilns in 3 weeks - better start those lists soon!

I hope the sick babies are okay! DS was a bit coughy last wek - but what's new with him

I am currently spending my mornings enjoying watching my babies play together. Being an only child myself I have never experienced siblings, and my two love each other so much I could cry - it is a joy for me to behold

Those of you with DS's have they found their 'little chap' yet?? DS has found his and his hands go to it every time I change him. He's even worked out how to loosen his nappy to get his hand to it I am not used to this and it makes me wince to watch him pinch it and squeeze it .
DH just laughs and says now he's found it he'll have never stop! DD likes to watch him to see what is making me wince and the other day actually said " can I see you willy daddy?" DH said "No! Shoo" trying to laugh it off and not look to shocked at her, while I creased up with laugher!

Indith · 09/08/2007 17:01

LowFat- he plays with it all the time, as soon as that nappy comes off down the hands go (great fun when poo is involved). They don't half yank at it though bless them, I assume they will learn to cherish it as they get older

WB, we are hiring a carpet cleaner, of course nothing ever being that simple in the land of Indith we managed to break the door on the way in to the shop- bloody expensive carpet cleaning that is! How the hell did Dp manage to break the glass with his arse reversing in with the buggy? Don't we all reverse into doors all the time? Please agree with me that it must be pretty weak glass!

Ooops dp wants to check his e mail

weirdbird · 09/08/2007 17:41

Ohh Indith couldnt help but LOL, your poor DH is his arse ok!!! That must have been very weak glass... Hope they are not charging you!

LFPJ - Am having the same thing, with watching them play together, despite the age gap, though I do have to tell DD1 to let DD2 actually play with some of her toys! She just wants to play with the baby toys now, am tempted to say we should get rid of hers...

More sick here, am washing all our bedding for the 2nd day in a row, tra la la.

Ordered the new bath and sink, it will be sooo nice, just need to go and purxhase the tiles now, still havnt chosen any for the kitchen though.

Calmriver · 09/08/2007 20:35

HI GUYS!!!!!

Indith that was very funny! Thats the type of thing that would happen to my DH!!! I can just imagine the reaction!

NO TEETH here yet either... A friend of mine has a little girl who is 5 months(this week) and she has 2 teeth!!!

Amberli is really good, nearly 9 months and said Mama repeatedly today with her arms waving for me to pick her up!

Awwww! It was the cutest thing!!!(since dd1 of course!!!)

Had drama with dd1 a few weeks back and just been so busy since! She got burned with boiling water, while I was doing Amberli's bottle. She was fighting with one of the kitchen drawers and knocked into me,which caused me to knock over the bottle and it was just such a horrible sight!

It still doesn't look nice, but its all fading quite quickly...and NONE went on her face ANYWHERE!

Otherwise, going camping on the 25th of this month and then have a holiday to go back home to South Africa booked for March...YAY"!!!

SachaF · 09/08/2007 21:00

No Mumsnetting for me for OVER 2 WEEKS now! How will I cope????
Just got a bike seat for ds, helmet is on order and should be delivered to the holiday cottage, rucksack is ready and fil has been training so we can go up Snowdon - I really just hopes it doesn't rain! I lived there for three years of Uni and there was a lot of rain.....then I spent my summer holidays in Scotland, Ireland or Italy - all of which also meant rain!!!! (Had a real phobia of rain a while ago but over it now )

FunkyGlassSlipper · 09/08/2007 21:08

calm - Glad DD1 is healing but I bet it was a shock. And DD2 said mama? How lovely!

We get a kind of internal gaga and that's it. Although she just learnt to clap hands which is lovely. She also pulled herself up to stand today and was so surprised with herself she fell over and bumped her face

Lol@ Indith's DH.

Cant comment on willies as I only have girls but I was talking to 2 friends about the same thing today. they have 2.5 and 3 year olds and say it continues....

sacha - have a lovely break

Olihan · 09/08/2007 22:21

Oh yes, boys and their willies, you wait until they discover that they can stretch them. I swear ds1 used to get it to twice its length. DH used to have a few eye watering moments during nappy changes . AND THEN, they discover they have testicles, with all the lovely, loose stretchy skin on them...................

Calm, lovely to see you, so glad dd1 is okay - that must have been so scary for both of you.

Sacha have a lovely holiday, dh keeps saying we should go camping. Dead, my, body and over feature somewhere in my response .

WB, fingers crossed for a sick free day tomorrow.
