Oli, laugh away. Everone else did

weirdbird · 20/08/2007 11:30

My DH is accident prone as well, just falls over his own feet and has no spacial awareness at all, I just remember that it is a lot harder to break little ones than you think, they are designed at this age to not break easily.

Sounds like he might have scared himself this time though and probably that will do the trick in making him take more care. hugs

The funniest thing was telling someone how DD1 had inherited her fathers ability to fall over nothing to a friend one day when DD1 came in and tripped over nothing on the lounge carpet, 2 min later DH came and tripped over the same nothing...

DD2 is waking a lot the last few nights, I lost track of how many times after we went to bed, but was about 6 before we got there, don't know whats waking her up but its driving me batty!!

We are re-doing our bathroom this week!! Wish me luck....

LOL at the iron on the head

Ds2slept thru last night Getting ready for the noe infamous school run with ds1, eeeek!

Indith · 20/08/2007 20:11

Some fab injuries there Mind you it has been a long time since I ironed anything

Dp being all careful, even keeps remembering to let go of the head last when putting ds down! Amazing!

Didn't go to a lovely wedding yesterday. Stupid M1. Made it to the reception though. Bloody hotel though didn't get us a cot until 11.15pm despite us asking for one 5 times!

Gloria42 · 20/08/2007 20:58

Woh, I've only been away for a week and there's loads to catch up on!
Before I get through all your updates I thought I'd confess to my own self-injury! I think I might be the only person on here to cut her lip while shaving under her arms ????

Thought so!! And it's completely true, I was running late for something or other and only had time for a dry shave in my bedroom (ouch!). Something distracted me and somehow I managed to drag the razor across my lip!

jabberwocky · 20/08/2007 21:54

Ouch!! but sooo funny

babypowder · 20/08/2007 22:15

My turn to PMSL

FunkyGlassSlipper · 21/08/2007 08:41

Morning all

jabberwocky · 21/08/2007 13:50

The thread has gotten rather quiet

Indith · 21/08/2007 19:03

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Anyone care to explain why the right side of my rib cage is rather concave at the moment?

Nope?

Didn't think so

Earliest Dr appointment is Friday too. Still it is leading to a whole range of new and exciting sensations

Oh yes this is a post natal thread. Erm...today ds has done nothing much of note at all Still rather sute though if I do say so myself

accessorizewithbabysick · 21/08/2007 19:51

hullo all, broadband down most of weekend so MIA.
at accident report, am fairly clumsy myself but more with plates, bowls and cars
dp and I had 10 mins on the sofa together tonight watching the ds's play (separately). imagine if whole days were like this!! Finding ds2 extremely cute at present, chucking stuff out of the bath & then peering over (whilst on dp's lap) to look for it, playing tug-of-war with me and his blanket & screaming with laughter. I'm back at work only 2 days, but finding it really hard to adjust and also being in an office for 8 hours a day is horrible after months of long daily walks! But it's quite nice having a sandwich in peace .

jabberwocky · 21/08/2007 19:59

Indith, how weird! Is anything painful?

jabberwocky · 21/08/2007 20:02

x-posts AQ, ditto on the sandwich

margosbeenplayingwithmynoonoo · 21/08/2007 20:20

AQ - 2 days still seem to be a long time at work. I already start worrying that my week is over on tuesday!

babypowder · 21/08/2007 22:43

Honestly, my 15 hours of work a week (admittedly unpaid and from home) seem more than enough for me just now. I'm seriously looking now at taking the full 12 months off this time.

Indith, are you all right, petal?

Olihan · 22/08/2007 07:07

Gloria, my friend at school cut her nipple while shaving her legs , amazing how out of control those bics get!

Indith, how's the ribs?

AQ, did you have a moment of 'we're so clever, we have such gorgeous children?'

Olihan · 22/08/2007 07:08

Oops

Ds2 was 'helping' me type!

jabberwocky · 22/08/2007 11:20

Okay, I've been up for over an hour fretting and crunching numbers - it's only 5:15 am here. And I'm going in today and give my resignation at one of my offices. We don't have a replacement for that income as of yet, but I just can't take it anymore. They took me from half days a month after I came back from maternity leave to whole days but the pay has not changed!! I mean, supposedly I would be seeing more patients and it would work itself out but it hasn't And I'm mostly angry with myself for letting it go on this way for so long. Anyway, yesterday was the last straw. I got to work at 9:00, did hardly anything in the morning, then was completely overwhelmed with patients the last hour and a half - standing room only in the waiting room. then made sh*t for money anyway. SO i leave work stressed to the max 30 minutes late, dh is also stressed waiting on me to get home and take over the boys...It's just not worth it!

Okay, rant over.

Thanks for listening

babypowder · 22/08/2007 14:04

Jabber, you go, girl. You're being very brave - and doing the right thing. Good luck! and {{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}}

margosbeenplayingwithmynoonoo · 22/08/2007 15:24

Yes, good luck Jabber. I know you will be managing on less money but you seem to cope somehow.

dd2 was prescribed lactulose today as she was constipated. She had trouble pooing ( she was in pain and she was bleeding from her bottom).

I'm hoping that she will improve after this.

jabberwocky · 22/08/2007 16:12

I DID IT will be working out my phase-out period over the next few days as I assured him that I am a professional and do not want to leave abruptly

Dh has been really supportive and I feel sooo much better. Should have done it months ago really.

margo - sorry about dd2. I think that may be the same thing that ds1 takes and it does help quite quickly, but not so fast that their tummy hurts IYKWIM.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 22/08/2007 16:12

Good for you Jabber.

I've had a stressful day. DD1 had a very heavy curtain pole fall on her head. It would be funny if I hadnt been in the middle of it. She got very sleepy so I was worried about concussion but perked (unsurprisingly) up after 2 hours in a&e.

On the +ve side. DD2 stayed with a neighbour and had no choice but to have cow's milk from a cup if she wanted anything for her afternoon milk. She drank some. I knoooooow cows milk shouldnt be given until 1 but I recommended it in the absence of anything else.

margosbeenplayingwithmynoonoo · 22/08/2007 16:26

well done Jabber.

margosbeenplayingwithmynoonoo · 22/08/2007 16:27

FGs - has she got your clumsy gene?
