fab news Friz

St Albans Jas, it's where Willows is.

Ds had his first full day at nursery. He had a great day but is very tired. Just tucked them both up in bed and I'm about to prepare our dinner.

Jas · 06/09/2007 19:55

Aaaah. It all makes sense now

mustrunmore · 06/09/2007 20:10

I thought South Africa too

Willows... should be back down to 8.95 now its no longer the hols (£2 increase when term ends ), under 2's are free (think its 2s not 3s). Bit more relaxed that Paradise etc. Not enough animals to justify it being called Farm really. But very cute rabbit handling! Tractor ride is short but kids like it. Very good play area, sand pit, lots of bouncy casltes/inflatable slide/roundabouts/swingboats included in entrance fee. and the puppet show is lovely. Sheepdog and daft duck trials. Cafe is average. Gift shop is quite nice. Good maize maze. Gold pannig (get a medal for finding 8 bits of pyrites. But ds2 just lobbed his hat in the water instead.)

Jas, I get £54.15 as a one off payment, if I ssend proof of address and proof of baby, and get the signature of the HV to say I'm using real nappies. Which means I'll actually havE TO GO TO CLINIC ON tUESDAY (oops).

Flame, you know me; I want the easiest, least hassle, but the best looking too I dont really do component parts. Why would I want wraps and stuff exactly? BTW you sarky lot, she didnt actuaaly convince me other than it actually being less hassle than I thought, but it did swinng it a bit when I found out I could still get 50 odd quids worth for free And he does look cute!

2boysmacca · 06/09/2007 21:04

If you didn't have wraps his trousers would get wet

It's more expensive at weekends so £9.95 adults, £8.95 for kids , maze closed down last weekend but we have 2 mazes in town so we're not too bothered with that. I like the sonsnd of the play bit, not overly fussed with the animals. As long as I can tire them out, I'm happy

How's your running go mrm, you don't answer me when i ask!

mustrunmore · 06/09/2007 21:24

Sorry! Running not going really, due to being at my Mums, then pontins, having a child who wont go to bed before 10pm etc etc I'm totally knackered, very unfit, and have no free time Am on here bewtwwen bouts of ironing and cleaning while dh is up with the pest, who stil lwont sleep, even on his new mattress thats costing me an entire day of looking after an uncontrolable child to pay for Rant over!

What I meant was, why would I faff about with wraps when nappies exist that dont require them? God, I sound so lazy, dont I?!

Jas · 07/09/2007 09:11

Boy has croup. Up all night in the sauna/kitchen.

[very tired face]

Phoenix · 07/09/2007 09:31

Awwww poor Boy Hope he gets well soon.

I'm having a rant about my dog so feel free to ignore the rest of my post.

I'm so with my dog today. I got up this morning and let him out as usual while Lewis was drinking his milk and we were getting ready to take him for his walk (if dh was here he would take the dog on his own but obv i need to take him with Lew when he's at work) he did loads of wees outside like he normally does, sat on the step for a while then came in and pissed up the side of Lewis' bean bag chair I could kill him, he hasn't done it in the house for ages.

He's already in the bad books cos he may have bit Lewis yesterday while i was at work but dh wasn't really looking at him at the time. Lewis likes to get as close as he can to the dog when he's laid on the floor and almost sits on him. Well that's what he was doing yesterday and dh heard a growl saw the dog was stood up and Lewis was bawling his eyes out. The dog got a smacked arse anyway either for growling at him or biting him. There is a red mark on Lew's back but dh didn't see where the dog may have bit him so we don't know if that mark is to do with it. There's no cut though just a mark.

Rant over.

Jas · 07/09/2007 12:44

Oh dear. I don't think I could cope with a dog and children (but I've never had a dog before so probably don't appreciate the good bits)

ds does have croup (not a surprise, and not really worth waiting al morning for the dr to tell me, as there isn't anythng they can give him). He's asleep now, but I'm guessing things will get worse during the nght again.

damewashalot · 07/09/2007 12:47

for poorly boy and dog problems.

for having a head that doesn't feel like it's got an axe in it still fuzzy but much better.

Why is it so quiet on here of late? mind you I still can't keep up

Jas · 07/09/2007 13:04

Glad your head is better.

csws is on holiday, so is Chloe I think, and Flame is busy working. Frzbe is setting up her shop and mrm falls asleep whenever she sits down due to non-sleeping ds1.

damewashalot · 07/09/2007 13:31

Flame busy selling nappies?

Jas · 07/09/2007 13:54

YupShe can be found on nappy threads these days still.

mustrunmore · 07/09/2007 14:02

Yes Jas is right, I'm seriously thinknig of just drugging him every night...

Had a good day today though, playing in neighbours garden, made lunch and took it over there (including with the people I'd invited to our house ) then neighbour took ds1 to nursery for me. Am, now slobbing as ds2 has only just gone for a nap (in our bed from 4am, so didnt wake till 7am because he was so cosy!!)

I've just found out that I've done something disguting and terrible, that I've only ever done once before in my life. A bit TMI, but I cant believe I did it! Forgot to remove last tampax of period, and didnt even notice other than to think things seemd a bit different somehow Thank God we've been too tired for sex!

Frizbe · 07/09/2007 21:23

MRM! that made me laugh and I need one after the end of today!!

for poorly boy Jas, hope he's better for you soon, croup is no fun and {{{Hugs}}} for you

I thought SA to but didn't want to say it all makes sense now though!

Hi Dame! tis easier isn't it!

Phoenix for ds and the dog situation, hope it doesn't escalate anymore, guess toddlers can be threatening....reminded me of mums cat a bit, that used to bite, then think what it was doing half way through, and stop, look apologetic and slink off, guessing the dog tried that and was shocked by the toddler response

What a day here, dd2 throwing herself down and off everything, down 3 stairs - cried a bit after that one, off two chairs - dh was supposed to be watching her on one of these, whilst I was typeing, he was dictating! The other one she was just messing about on, so learning curve.....she's taken to dragging smaller chairs/footstools etc around with her to get at what she wants too dd1 in the meantime threw a right wobbler in the hairdressers when I took her for a trim, we (hairdresser and I) stupidly decided that washing her hair would be a good idea, dd1 agreed to it, until half way through, sigh....it took two biscuits and a promise of a really good treat tomorrow (we're meeting an auntie in Starbucks) to calm her down, we didn't bother with the hairdryer at the end, just came home Then just before bed, she says, 'mummy I don't want you to go in case you die' and bursts into floods of tears - where did that come from then her age I guess (nearly 4) and the realisation that people grow up etc....

Frizbe · 07/09/2007 21:25

MRM hmmm, drugging everynight, tempting....is it really every night he's up late???? or just 6 out of 7? guess you've tried the routine thing?

FlameBatfink · 07/09/2007 21:27

Sorry for being awol - working, trying to sort lack of money etc

for poorly Boy

B's first day of school today

here n here

She did fine

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 07/09/2007 21:30

Dont know why the routine has suddenyl failed us. It was all aftre the dropping-the-dummy, but he got over that, and then regressed for no reason, and now he's getting worse and worse. It really is every night; prob had 3 good bedtimes all summer.Routine can only work if the child isnt leaping and jumping and rfusing to sit still or be in bed or clean teeth or listen to a book or stop kicking brother.

Ds1 is death-obsessed too, but he thinks if he hasnt seem someone for awhuile,, they're dead. And that its a bit boring being dead, because you just have to lie down without breathing.

Glad I made you laugh though! It was looking like a bit of a thread killer there!

mustrunmore · 07/09/2007 21:31

Flame, you've got a grown up girl now! She loks very cute. But far cleaner/tidier than ds1 will be this time next year when he goes

FlameBatfink · 07/09/2007 21:38

It'll only be the one day I guarantee by next Tuesday she will be sporting the dragged through hedge backwards look.

No help with your nightmare bedtimes - I shut em in their room and let em get on with it

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 07/09/2007 21:42

Thats the plan i'm favouring now, but dh wont let me do it! He tried the 'you can play quietly' ,but tis crap, and makes it worse.

FlameBatfink · 07/09/2007 21:45

Nah, just ignore completely unless they are killing each other

OP posts:
Frizbe · 07/09/2007 21:52

Have you tried the, you can stay awake in bed, so long as your reading line? failing that I just shut the door too, which is enough to make dd1 listen, as she hates being in the dark on her own!

Flame, she's so grown up I've been stopped by two mums in town today asking why dd1 isn't in school, cause she doesn't go till next year!! Nov baby!! and she's tall, so fools everyone....

mustrunmore · 07/09/2007 22:22

Yep, we get 'but I want to read to you' or 'I cant read this book' or 'I want to play instead'. I think he's a bit young to appreciate quietly looking at a book as a way of drifting off. Whatever approach we take, it ends up in him wailing or demanding at the top stairgate, or trying to break through it

FlameBatfink · 07/09/2007 22:28

My sister put up a photo of me at about 17 on Facebook - I have realised that is just about the time I went on the pill...

Come see the freaky body morphing before, during and after pill!! here I knew my shape had changed, I hadn't realised how much I had gone back to being like I used to be.

OP posts:
Jas · 08/09/2007 06:59

Very grown up looking B I can't see the body pics though. It wants me to sign in as Flamesparrow to look.

I went to bed at 7.30 last ight, and ds slep til 5

I am no help for bedtimes, I've always gone down the ou go to bed at 7 and as long as I can't see or hear you I don't care what you are doing rote. We often get trips downstairs for assorted excuses and they gat water, a cuddle, a warning, and then shouted at!
Since ds as been in with them, they are going much better.I am maintaning the illusion that he will wake if they have lights on or make to much noise (not true on either count).
