Rosy - we're having a party for ds1 the Sunday after they go back - a Den Building party run by one of the rangers at a nearby counry park.

As it's a Sunday lunchtime and the room where we can do the food afterwards has got space for more children than the 20 who can do the activity we've said that younger siblings can come along for the food, and we'll do an adult/older kids buffet too (there's an outdoor covered area) for any parents who are waiting around.

I hadn't realised that none of ds1's friends seem to be only children/youngest in family as I think they're all bringing a younger one with them. And all the dads want to "help with" the den building. So it looks like I'll be catering for about 80 all in. Could be a busy weekend!

Rosylily · 07/08/2007 09:03

Kitty happy birthday to your ds1! I hope he has a lovely day, how sweet that he wants your company.

I am feeling back to normal thanks, and much better now. Still need to try and sort out my marriage but feeling optomistic now.

Rosylily · 07/08/2007 09:05

lunar...WOW!

LunarSea · 07/08/2007 09:10

Rosy - it's quite nice to have the dads involved too. So many of the soft play/entertainer type parties end up being mums only. tbh den building is much more ds1's thing than having a magician and party games anyway. OK, it's a bit unconventional as parties go, but IMHO it's ideal for 6 year old boys.

Mossy · 07/08/2007 09:40

Good grief so many messages to catch up on!

Kitty I'm glad you're feeling a bit better now, it sounds horrible, one of my rl friends has mastitis too atm and her Dr. gave her some bloody weird advice. He said not to feed baby on the affected boob for 48 hours because the antibiotics would get into his system. Feed from the other boob, and express from the affected one. Which she was all set to do and then she thought, "hang on, the ab's would just get into the milk generally from either boob surely?"

So she just ignored him. How stupid is that though? From a Health Professional?

Happy birthday to your ds1 btw!

Callie your evening sounds great! And Rosy your Scotland trip sounds wonderful.

Lunar wow! What a party that'll be!!

Eids that resort looks amazing!

Diva Blackpool North is fine, I am going to look up train times now, looking forward to it!

Foxy, I texted you, as I have a magazine to send to you with some wonderful latch tips in it! Can you text me your address to 07968 632535?

Jay you must be knackered! You're very brave! I am in awe of those of you with dc's so close together, I can barely manage with just one!!

Eids / Dolly, I wonder if Bertie is teething too, as he has his hand always in his mouth, and is drooling like nobody's business?

Well, had a good weekend with dh... until yesterday. Will rant on my ranty thread again. You lot must be bored of it by now I'm sorry!

Also, Bertie is still a little sucky fish throughout the night, and yet he seems to have cut down his feeds in the daytime. I'm not too bothered at the moment but when I do go back to paid work I'm going to struggle; anyone have any suggestions? I am still sleeping in the bed with him, is it time to wean him off this do you think? He is nearly four months' old.

Mossy · 07/08/2007 09:40

Hello to anyone I've missed btw!!

Also, where are Leo, Boo, Morocco?

Piffle · 07/08/2007 09:52

jays 12 wk scan OMG do tell us when you get your dates!!!

Am jealous of the end result ie: the baby but you preggy lot can take your pregnancies yourself for sure! I'm done physically even if not emotionally

Mossy was going to post on your thread, saying good to have gotten stuff out in the open - while not always nice to hear, at least you get your bearings and can start healing and talking.

Am off to read update now if one is there.

Well dp started his new job in Luton yesterday - commuting seems ok but then schools hols make a difference I bet.
SO out the door at 6.30 and in at 7pm...
he may well miss dd the whole week when she starts school he may be able to tweak his hours a bit though hopefully.

Well we have been madly bying ikea toy storage in readiness for Finn crawling as dd's toys are everywhere and full of little bits. So now that's all sorted out. safety rules!

Eids your hols destination looks awesome...

Lunar, enjoy your day catering for all them kiddies - brave woman indeed...

Rosylily · 07/08/2007 09:54

And laidback...

Mossy that definately sounds like teething!

Mossy · 07/08/2007 10:01

Laidback is offline for a bit with the move and everything, but will try to get back online at some point to say hello.

Rosylily · 07/08/2007 10:01

ooh and Good luck to spongecake with moving and when is the wedding? Is it the 10th?

evenhope · 07/08/2007 10:02

Rosy- two teeth?! Wow. We're still just dribbling and shoving our fists into our mouth.

I'd actually like to come to the Brighton meet. We are away the last week of August though- back to school on 5th Sept. Only trouble is I don't do trains and last time we came to Brighton it's so anti-car. There's nowhere to park and it took over an hour to get from one side to the other. Any ideas?

Mossy how often is Bertie feeding at night? Mine had been going from 11.30pm to 7am but in the last 3 weeks or so she is waking 2-3 times most nights. I think we saw 2ish 4ish and 6ish last night She doesn't wake completely but starts thrashing around with her arms and moaning until she finds something to put in her mouth (my elbow on one occasion, which was quite amusing!)

Mossy · 07/08/2007 10:02

Oh Piffle your dp's commute sounds a mare, he will not see your dd. I hope he is able to tweak his hours a bit like you say.

Mossy · 07/08/2007 10:05

Evenhope X posts.

I have stopped counting tbh. I put him to bed by about eight, and he sleeps until about half six, but with lots of nibbling. I go to bed myself about ten, and he normally wakes at about eleven / midnight and then it's suck suck suck at least three or four times. Sometimes it's a proper feed-style suck, and sometimes I think it's more for comfort as he sucks and very soon is back to sleep.

Like I say, I'm actually not too bothered about it atm, but when I go back to paid work, I will want it to be a bit easier!!

Piffle · 07/08/2007 10:15

mossy even worse was dp yesterday morning at 5.45...

His first day, waking ME!!!! To ask whether he should wear the black or brown trousers with his pink shirt...

I was not amused at the time but loking back was soooo sweet, he was actually a little nervous!

Routine here, Finn has carved himself out one sort of.
Wakes at 7-7.30 - from this time it's a given that he'll be ready to sleep 1.5 hrs from that point.
then he often naps for 2-3 hrs

Up at 12 -12.30 back to bed from 2-3 ish

then always naps without fail between 5-6

then bed at 7.30-8pm
He usually (but not always) wakes after 1 hr to feed straight back down. I will sometimes feed him at 11 when I go to bed. Then he'll sleep thru or wake at maybe 3-4 am. He is dead easy int he night though, barely wakes.

His feeds are little less predictable - when he is hungry I guess, never ever feeds on waking in the morning - too bloody nosy, so usually feeds before sleeping then.

LunarSea · 07/08/2007 10:33

Mossy - Toby's still like that at night. tbh it doesn't bother me as I hardly really wake up. But work looms.... I've just fixed Toby's first 2 hours at nursery for tomorrow so we can start building up to him having to go for full days when I go back at the end of September.

divastrop · 07/08/2007 13:42

just scan-read the posts.

jay-good luck with the scan.it only seems 5 minutes since we were all talking about 12 week scans with these babies who are now sitting/rolling/teething/eating

fox-im not having a hen night,i dont want one and dp isnt having a stag night either.i may have a virtual hen night though

mossy-will have a look at your thread again later.i dont think anybody is getting fed up with it.when i post ranty threads about dp i get told that i'm the nutty one, which goes to show mners tell it like it is.ah well,if i wanted hugs and fluff i'd post on netmums.

kitty-things are ok at home as far as i know, only because im taking some excellent advice given to me on a thread the other night.i am off the prozac for now and due to start a new ad tomorrow,so im a bit loopy atm anyway.

i put ds2 in nursery today so i could go shopping, but as i did that last night i did the housework and went to the hairdressers this morning instead.

hello to everyone else

foxcub · 07/08/2007 17:04

Eids am very of your holiday - it looks just the ticket!!

Roasy - Amazed at hasan's two teeth!!! Hasd he nipped you with them at all?

is the lardy thread still going - its dropped off my list

Mossy I must have a nose on your thread again

Lunar/Moss - I am going through the same thoughts too - Monti waking me 3/4 times each night and I am knackered atm. Don't know how I will cope at work and dread the thought of my boobs not being there for him. I'll probably let him have formula in the day and BF at 7am and 7pm, which is what I did with DD (although she was 1, so it was easier). I knwo I will miss him as he is my cuddly bear atm

R U going back f/t or p/t? Mossy when is your return scheduled for?

I'm looking at mid or end of Sept, and working 3 days in office/one at home with one day off. DH will go flexi hours so we can juggle chidcare between us and use a childminder for 1 day only (our old childminder has agreed to do it)

Shall we meet in those last few days before term starts then? Any suggestions? I'm easy (as the actress said to the bishop). Must get my car fixed though

foxcub · 07/08/2007 17:05

I meant "Rosy" not "Roasty"

LunarSea · 07/08/2007 17:37

foxcub - I'm going back fulltime, from the end of September, but as I didn't take any holiday this year before going on mat leave I've got enough to take 2 days a week until the end of the year. So effectively it's only 3 days a week until after Christmas.

Callieco · 07/08/2007 18:00

Talking of work, a third colleague since I had Jordi has announced they are leaving, at the end of August. That's three men gone - we will be down to one at my level if a woman gets the job, which is likely as there is someone there freelancing atm.

Kitty, he did sing Many Rivers and he was fab. Voice sounds exactly the same. It was a great evening - warm, clear skies. Glad you are feeling a bit better. The abs do make a difference quite quickly.

foxcub · 07/08/2007 18:07

Will you be the only woman at that level then Callie?

Lunar - I think I will have about 14 days acrrued - that's one day a week for 3 months

Which means I too will only be working 3 days a week for a while. My major aspiration atm is finding a way to work p/t only (hence the lodger..)

foxcub · 07/08/2007 18:08

Its almost worth getting PG just to be able to accrue annual leave while on mat leave

foxcub · 07/08/2007 20:20

Anyone fancy a barny???

Rosylily · 07/08/2007 20:53

The wee tyke has bitten me a couple of times!

Leoladyofleisure · 07/08/2007 21:06

Hi all, Mossy was wondering how I am doing so came to find me, made me feel very !

So I apologise, I just couldn't keep up with you all and it felt almost insulting to you all not to read your posts and expect you to read mine .

Well, life is wonderful but tough. I am quite proud of myself and the way I am coping with ds1 and the dts, things seemto be flowing along ok. I have 3 gorgeous, happy little boys.... but that means a lot of sleepless nights and not much time for myself .

Toby and Leo are tough, fat, healthy, little babies, but quite easy and undemanding (apart from at night), so if they were singletons life would be easy.

I was still only breastfeeding them up until 3 or 4 weeks ago, but have started on solids and now they seem to be refusing my breasts and milk altogether but I'm not sure if its just the teething.

Just scanning down I see others of you are having sleepless nights as well.

Toby and Leo are both teething, Leo is coping with it fairly well but poor Toby had a 40° temperature and whimpered all night on Monday (even after 2 doses of calpol). He almost totally refused to eat or drink anything yesterday and slept from 7pm to 3am (), then I woke him to feed him and he had an almost dry nappy so I spent the rest of the night awake trying to feed him. Between 7 and 10 Leo woke at 12 and 3 and ds1 came and got into bed wiht us at some point so I did get a couple of hours .

I've been through a huge dilemma about whether to go back to work or not and have decided I will definitely go bac (60%) in January. I have issues with ds1's nursery, although he seems quite happy there, but cost and lack of acceptable alternatives means that we will probably have to stay put for the time being and put the dts there as well.

They will be 6 months soon !

Can someone give me a summary of how everyone is. Are any of us already pregnant again??????
