Thanks Diva, have fun at the family fun day. It's blooming boiling here today. Too hot to be outside 'till later , hope the weather's improved for you.

Just come home from a day at a light railway with DS2 DS3 and DD2. Very hot. DD seemed to enjoy being on the train from the little squeals she was making.

She grabbed the belgian waffle I was eating and stuffed it in her mouth. Obviously wasn't intentional because she spent the next 10 minutes gagging and retching and spitting it out! Not ready to eat then

foxcub · 05/08/2007 18:53

LOL evenhope!! she has a sweet tooth then?

Kitty sound shorribly like an infection doesn't it

ABs tomorrow for you then?

We decided to visit my Mum just outsied Bath today - car broke down in sweltering heat on M4. Must get this car fixed properly. This is the 2nd time in 3 months - bought a new battery but there is clearly another problem

kiwibella · 05/08/2007 19:04

evenhope

hope you have fun on your day out Diva... what's it like without your big ones tagging along?

Fox Hope it wasn't too hot while you waited on the motorway. It's so awful when you are stuck there. I bet your mum enjoyed the visit tho.

Hope things improve for you Kitty and that Ronnie is able to help you work out the lumps.

Dolly... shame you aren't happy with your haircut. Like you say, it will grow out .

Mossy... I'm on Isle of Dogs - so a beautiful walk through the foot tunnel to Greenwich Park and then onwards to Blackheath. Not far from Lewisham really. I think three drinks is my new limit - felt toasted after three beers on Friday night.. but it was a good feeling because hubs and I were out together and the girlies at home in bed .

It's been a brilliant weekend weatherwise... long may it last

Callieco · 05/08/2007 19:18

Kitty, you poor thing. Get some ABs asap and you may as well get anti thrush stuff at the same time in case!

Shanks, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Am as whoever asked, yes I want another one.

I've had my mum and niece staying here since Friday, and we've had a great time. I took my mum out to see A Midsummer's Night Dream outdoors for a belated birthday present, which was really good. Then it was off to Big Weekend in Cardiff on sat, so free music and a (not free) funfair in the centre of the city. My mother earned my undying respect by going on a rollercoaster with my daredevil five-year-old niece. She did come off t saying never again though. We watched Jimmy Cliff (for any reggae fans out there) in the evening and, bonus, dp took babes home early with him. I'd put him to bed in the pram in his grobag and he slept through the lot, bless.

divastrop · 05/08/2007 20:42

callie-sounds like a great weekend.though,i am remembering the good old days of only 1 or 2 children who would sleep in prams while i did evening stuff.

fox-you need a new car.it must be a nightmare breaking down in this heat.

the fun day was good.ds2 got covered in mud going on the water slide(which was a large piece of plastic sheeting placed on a hill and a bloke kept chucking buckets of soapy water down it).i think there would have been H+S issues involved there if any officials had turned up.however,he had lots of fun,and so did dd2 who went on the bouncy castle and swing chairs, and has discovered she can run.away.and doesnt like getting back in the buggy

foxcub · 05/08/2007 21:24

That fun day sounds great Diva!! perfect for a hot day!!

My car is only 3/4 years old!! I think I just need to get it checked proper;y this time and fixed once and for all. It has been really reliable up until now (feel all loyal towards it now )

Callie - sounds like a fab time with your Mum. I wish my Mum liked Jimmy Cliff and went on rides etc !!

eidsvold · 06/08/2007 07:05

Diva - I used to live in SOuthend area - Shoeburyness first and then to Westcliff on Sea.

Kitty - hope you get it sorted soon - sounds bad. I usually end up with a blocked duct but [touch wood] have not had it get worse.

Shanks - congrats I am ever so jealous but mainly cause three is it for us so I am trying to treasure every little moment of dd3.

Think dd3's teeth may be giving her hassle - she spends most of the day gnawing on her thumb or with her hand shoved down her throat, shirt fronts full of drool. Some restless nights lately which doesn't help as we have been very busy.

Got a new digital camera - will get the other pics developed to show you what the cake looked like.

Just been to a fabric shop and spent $100 on fabric to make dd1 and dd2 - some summer dresses and shorts as well as some pj bottoms that will be for christmas. Dh was shocked and less than impressed but that should be the dds summer wardrobes sorted. Dd3 has plenty of hand me downs and baby gros are just fine for every day use.

DollyPopsOut · 06/08/2007 12:18

Eids, DD2 has hand permanently in the mouth. I am sure I can see wee teeth outlined on her poor sore gums. She is not too miserable though. Do you have Bickie pegs down under? She might be a bit small though I suppose.

How is boob today Kitty?

Foxy, that sounds BAD on the car. Please promise us to get it sorted so that you can drive safely. Both incidents have sounded not good.

Kiwi, I used to have a boyfruiend who lived on the isle of dogs and spent many a happy night wandering home through the tunnel afer going out in greenwich. Is it baby friendly round there?

Callie, wish I could do funfairs - scare the life out of me.

Must off to do jobs now. Hello to everyone else. Hope you are all doing well

foxcub · 06/08/2007 14:42

Kiwi I love Blackheath, Greenwich market and that tunnel! I used to work in Lee Green so spent many a lunchtime at Blackheath

How is your mastitis Kitty?

Hi Dolly and Eids [waves]!!

Piffle · 06/08/2007 14:51

Crikey I bugger off for a few days and a new thread appears!
Shanks massive congrats - Hope you're feeling ok! Like Mossy think another would be curtains for my DP- although we are 3 already

Kiwi - how is your friends little baby doing?

Kitty hope the booby is ok, I got blocked ducts, mastitis and abcesses with ds1 e13 yrs ago. I truly sympthise- hope you can fed your way out of it. I used to feed off the affected boob to drain it totally and express off the other.

No weaning here Finn is 20 wks this week (I think? 22 March) but showign on interest although did lick a banana tasting finger and loved it, but is still sleeping fine and not needign any extra food - infact he ahs just dropped a feed or two as he now sleeps 8-7 with just one wake up.

Well so much for Finn not rolling - littl tyke has been practising in bed (found him rolling both ways at will when I picked him up this morning after his nap - has shown ZERO signs of doing it when not in bed though - can sit up ish now uses his hands to prop himself up, but could still topple sideways IYSWIM

Right off to play with dd :0

Love to all

Rosylily · 06/08/2007 15:15

Congratulations Shanks! Wow. How do you feel? Are you sick and tired?
Well finally , I'm glad to realise my residual broodiness has worn off because I'm not jealous, I'm delighted to be UNPREGNANT [GRIN] But all the best to you broody people who are expecting again and trying. (phew it's not me .)

Kitty and Dolly get well soons.

Muppet (you are funny ) hope you have a happy holiday.

Scotland was fabulous. The wedding was extremely romantic and the ceili was wild, with electric bagpipes, arms, legs and kilts flying fast. I was able to join in at the end once the children were sleeping and mother was babysitting.
The journey back was hard going and we are all sick of long journeys.
I'm supposed to be travelling back to cork this week and I don't want to go away again yet but want to see dh so I'll see.

Hasan is not interested in eating yet....I am making one gallon of milk a day, I feel like a big old cow and looking forward to the next stage!

Callieco · 06/08/2007 17:32

Dolly, fairs scare the life out of me too - hence my being so impressed by my mum. I had my feet firmly planted on the ground holding the pram. I get dizzy just watching them, so have no need to experience the actual ride, thereby saving a fortune and my clothes from being covered in vomit .

Kiwi/Mossy, I used to live in Lewisham and also wandered over the heath and to Greenwich all the time. I love it down there.

DS is in a fantastic mood today, which is nice. We're trying to tidy the house slowly as we're having a welcome to the world do for him on Saturday. Just hoping the weather is going to be ok.

Diva, that sounds like fab fun at your day out.

Fox, that must have been a nightmare with the car. Hope u can get it fixed.

kittywits · 06/08/2007 21:49

Thanks for all you well wishes re my poorly boob! I went to the dr today as it was just getting worse and worse and I was feeling a bit fluey. I'm on ab's and it already feels less painful. I was suprised how quickly it came on, from nothing to big hard lump. I would have thought that I would be safe from mastitis by now!!
The dr had a trainee with her and apologised for asking my to show her my boob. I told her not to worry, after the 'indignity' of childbirth, nothing was embarassing!

Callie I love Jimmy Cliff, was he good? I especially love"Many rivers to cross" did he sing that one?

Foxy poor you with your car, not something you want to happen is it ?

Rosy, sounds like you had a great time. Are you feeling better now?

Piffle, you'll need to watch Finn now won't you?

Diva, sounds like your day out was good fun, mine would have loved the muddy water slide too!!

It's ds1's 9th birthday tomorrow, can't believe it, where's my little baby gone ? . Mum's coming to mind the others while I go down to the pier and beach with him ( and Ronnie of course!) he wants some mummy time.

Dolly I taught at a school in Lewisham when I lived in Dulwich. I had a friend who lived in Blackheath, very trendy. I liked going to the market in Greenwich on Sundays.

rosy-sounds like you had a great time

omg i'm getting married in...2.5months?

i must say, although Elsie happily eats a whole pot of fruit at dinnertime, that seems plenty for her at the mo,which is very different to my others.i was looking at the jars of food in asda before(i went shopping after the kids went to bed)and i just thought 'i cant be arsed with all that'.i just want her to go straight to the feedingherself stage iyswim

kittywits · 06/08/2007 21:55

I know what you mean Diva. I had started Ronnie on 'mush' then stopped when I got mastitis as I wanted him to feed from me as much as poss. Now, even though I've got a cupboard full of jars I can't be arsed to give them to him. I'd rather he could sit up in his highchair and chew stuff.
Things must be better at home now then ?

Jaysthird · 06/08/2007 22:59

Hi ladies
congratulations are in order i read for Shanks!! How are you feeling? Tired? I am totally knackered, going for my '12' weeks scan next monday. I say '12' becasue i really dont know how far i am......its a crude estimation based on a few ifs and buts..!! Guess they will be able to tell me more accuratly then.

Havnt had time to get on here, although i did find the new thread, how come you all get to socialise on here? i seem to be constantly busy!

Jensen is doing well ( better than before anyway) we still have at least three wake ups in the night but i am only feeding him once around 3am, trying to get him to take more feeds in the daytime...sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt! He was 20 weeks on Sunday just gone, and i have been slowly weaning for about 3 weeks now, baby rice, rusks, yoghurts, banana, fruit pots. Its not because i want to but it seems to help his reflux, and he does now sleep for a four hour stretch rather than two! He is very demanding and wants constant attention, but on the flip side he smiles at anything and at everyone, hes rolling over and gets about all over the floor, and will pull himself up all the time, hes just so strong, his thighs are so defined..puts mine to shame! lol

Hope everyone is well and coping with the babes... i cant believe how quick they are growing up, does anyone have any firm kind of routine they do? Sometimes i feel like i should do for J's sake. We have a bedtime routine, bath feed etc, but thats it.

Anyway i am off to bed now, will try and check back soon, love to all xxxxx

foxcub · 06/08/2007 22:59

Its very messy isn't it feeding them mush? We go through so many bibs, which all end up orange!

I gave Monti half a pot and lunchtime and at dinner time he was demanding more, straight after his milk feed. He grabbed the spoon when I started to feed him!!! Then when he'd finished he settled back with a big contented chubby grin! He's a very hungry baby atm.

He had his 2nd jab today and didn't feel a thing as his thighs are so chubby!!

Diva - 2.5 months!!! What have you got in store for your hen night I wonder?

Kitty - glad the Abs are working. I hope you had a nice day at the seaside with the boys.

Talking of which when shall we do our Brighton meet up?

Shall we do it the week before they go back to school?

Oh feck - when do they go back to school? Is it 10 Sept?

Any other suggestions?

We can have a really fab day at the toddler playground/pool/sandpit on Brighton beach and Kitty can pop down to se us What does evryone think?

foxcub · 06/08/2007 23:02

Hi Jay - x posts You'll be feeling a bit better soon hopefully

foxcub · 06/08/2007 23:02

Envy Wink

eidsvold · 07/08/2007 04:29

brighton works for me

glad to hear the boob is better kitty.

dh and I are off to see Miss Saigon on Thursday at the theatre. So I have been trying to get organised to express for her since she decided that the odd bottle of formula was so not on!

What happens my pump breaks!! i did not want to buy a brand new one as this is it for us and she is already 20 weeks. Managed to get a 2ndhand medela one for not much!! thank goodness.

off to buy a swimsuit for dd3 as we are off to the beach in a few weeks and she will be all right for a quick dip in th pool.

staying here

weather is glorious at the moment - winter has gone!!

LunarSea · 07/08/2007 07:57

fox - back to school is 4th September here - ds1's birthday. And mine too - it alwasys seemed so unfair that school nearly always started on my birthday if it fell anywahere from Monday to Thursday!

Rosylily · 07/08/2007 08:26

Eidsvold that looks gorgeous!

Lunar ds1 was complaining that he can't look forward to his birthday (23rd Aug) because it's near the end of holidays, so I'll tell him your birthday to put it in context!

Jay I'm so glad that Jensen is settled now.

Hasan is sitting up and he has two teeth but he doesn't want solids, he gags and doesn't look keen when I try him. And I tried a bottle yesterday and he just chewed it and dribbled the milk out of his mouth. So I'll have to be patient but I'm sick of all the constant breast feeding now.

kittywits · 07/08/2007 08:50

Eids that looks so amazing. it's another world

Jay, you are one very brave lady!! Hopefully you'll start your 'blooming' stage soon

Foxy, we go back to school on the 4th. I've kept the last week clear so I think anytime will be good!
