oh am thinking about starting to ebay baby clothes etc that are no longer needed. Have some gorgeous stuff that has hardly been worn. Apparently UK brands are very popular over here.

eidsvold · 03/10/2007 23:18

evenhope can you contact me off the board - need help locating an index reference for a death certificate

email me please at eidsvoldsn at yahoo dot com dot au.

Mossy · 04/10/2007 08:45

Eids can you adapt your dress? cut the straps off near the bottom and sew press studs / velcro onto them, then use a piece of elastic from the bottom of the strap into the top of the dress? That is what I have done with the strappy green dress I'm (probably) wearing to Diva's wedding.

Sazzy sorry to hear about your flood... it is the kind of thing I would do, leave the tap on!

Kitty you're better off without that awful au pair... how easy is it going to be to find a new one?

Piffle hope Finn's teeth get better soon and he is less grizzly for you!

Evenhope so about your doggy. Just a thought, if you really didn't want to rehome, does your pet insurance cover behavioural training at all? I know ours does (petplan) and I have the number by the phone because I never completely trust Arthur not to do something ...

Can anyone think of a halloween name for me? I have no brain atm.

Callie it was the exercise that did for his eye... don't think he'll be trying that in a hurry! However housework is exercise isn't it?

Off to rescue Bertie from his grizzles!

Evenhope bad news about the dog
We had to rehome out two jack russells as we simply had no time and could not let them be free around the place.
they have gone to sensational homes, we rehomed using Epupz.co.uk

Finn being a weird mixture of wonderfulness and awfulness
Went to sleep early 6.45pm and striaght to sleep, fed him at 10pm and then he was up til 12.30 screaming his bits off.
Not teething, not appearing to be in pain well not appearing to be anything but wanting to play and be cuddled... not entirely sure why...
I very nearly lost it as had the husband thing, where "I've got to be up at 5.45am for work you know"

Oh yeah like I'm sat here putting pins in him just to piss you off then?
HONESTLY! And right my day is not work then? No....

OOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

muppetrickortreat · 04/10/2007 11:11

sorry to hear about various grizzly babies... no advice from me... I can't get Samuel to sleep at the best of times

when is diva tying the knot?

sorry about your dog evenhope... our dog is with my mil at the mo as he is mad and runs away (scales 6ft fences) and was pooing in the house when i got pregnant. I don't know how to re-introduce him now Samuel is here... he is the biggest softest dope on the planet so no major worries with him not liking the baby... just hygiene concerns

... last time we tried him back here he ran upstairs and weed on my pillow

eidsvold · 04/10/2007 11:18

mossy I thought about a flapper dress with flaps that I could just lift up to feed dd3 with - kind of like the feeding shirts - just do a layer with fringing that would cover dd3

eidsvold · 04/10/2007 12:05

still getting to grips with facebook - no idea if I am doing the right thing seems too technical for my small brain.

bethoo · 04/10/2007 12:06

Poffle -just seen your pics, i cant believe your little one is crawling at 6 months already! Hayden is 7 months now and still has to be propped up on his bum!

Rosyspookily · 04/10/2007 12:42

Hi Bethoo, welcome back!

Rosyspookily · 04/10/2007 12:45

Eidsvold you need a flapper cape And your brain is not small. You are too busy sewing to sit working out facebook! That's good!

Piffle · 04/10/2007 14:29

Hello Bethoo LONG time no see!
How are things!

scary, be glad of the non movers aongst us, tis nowt but trouble

covenhope · 04/10/2007 14:44

eids- have emailed you.

We've been talking about rehoming the dog for a while- DH really doesn't have time for her since he changed jobs and the baby has just made it worse. I've got the number of the breed welfare (thanks to the dalmation thread) so DH is going to ring them.

Quite reassuring that a lot of the babies are grizzly- another tick in the "development" box

scareybee · 04/10/2007 17:59

sorry about your dog evenhope - that's a bit pants Hope you find somewhere nice for him to go

Oh eidsvold please wear a flapper dress with a flap where your norks are, hidden by fringing. It would make me very happy (sorry that sounds a bit pervy but I just think it's a fab idea)

I went to a baby bounce thing at the library today. It was quite good only there was this woman who was late and said it was because she'd had to change because the baby had puked on her and she'd had to change the baby's outfit too. Am I the only person who gives sick marks a cursory wipe with a damp cloth?

We are still house of sick. After baby bounce I thought I should take Elliot to the doctor's for his cough and it seems he has croup So now I'm watching him to make sure he doesn't go blue or something. He is very loud at night - like sleeping with a particularly disgusting old man - wheezing, snuffling, farting etc

Can you tell I haven't had a man about for a bit?

Mossy · 04/10/2007 18:32

Oooh I'm excited and bouncy! I have started trying this baby-led weaning malarkey as Bertie's nearly six months' old now and gave him some carrot, steak and mushroom (from my stew, so was very tender) and he picked it all up and put it in his mouth and gummed it... quite a lot went down, I was well made up!!

Eids yes wear your flapper flaps! As Sazzy - sorry, scary - says, it would make me very happy, although not in a pervy way!!

Bethoo!! Lovely to see you again, long time no see!! How is your little one - god it's so long I can't remember the name?

Bertie can't crawl yet, he has only just learned how to roll over, but he has days when he forgets!

Going on a LLL workshop day tomorrow, there's a speaker called Diane Weisinger, should be interesting, and then I'm out in the late afternoon in Wigan, all with the boy Bertrand, should be interesting... I hope not too interesting!

Right question for the rest of you (I think I am last person to start solids ) now your babies do more solid poos and more often, how often do you bath them? I was bathing Bertie twice a week previously but he has only been pooing about once a week... now he is on "real" food he will need bathing more often, no?

Mossy · 04/10/2007 18:34

Covenhope forgot to say, I'm sorry about your dog, but if it is any consolation, I have read that dogs don't get sad for long if they go to a new home, as in their "wild" state, dogs / wolves often change "pack" and this is how they see moving to another house.

TheBlonde · 04/10/2007 18:49

Bethoo - hello, hope work is going okay

Sazzy - sorry to hear about the croup, it usually goes quite quickly, steam or cold air should help

Mossy - I was a slacker before and DD was lucky to get a bath weekly, I am now managing almost every day.

Everyone else - hello! almost the weekend

scareybee · 04/10/2007 19:41

mosschops - that's great about bertie and the blw - it's great fun isn't it?

I bath elliot every other day now he does scary poos. Actually they look like his normal poos but with a mashed carrot in the middle. (sorry if that's tmi)

He gets eczema though so I don't want to bath him every day as it makes it worse (London water is 50% limescale). He poos twice a day very often - be warned!

covenhope · 04/10/2007 20:40

We are now on daily bathing in a vain attempt to establish a routine

She gets about 3 minutes in about an inch of water!

LunarScream · 04/10/2007 20:52

Aargh - what a day!

It started last night with ds1 running his own bath - and somehow failing to notice that some of the towels had fallen off the rack over the bath into it, so he just ran the water over them. Then he wet the bed, which is something he hasn't done for at least a couple of years.

Then Toby threw up 3 times during the night, all over himself, his bedding and me - cue middle of the night baths to get him clean again. And did it again this morning all over his exerciser thing which he was sitting in at the time, and twice more at lunchtime (way beyond clearing up with baby wipes so new sets of clothes again).

Picked up ds1 from school and he'd got 2 "red cards" - 3 in a term means the parents have to be interviewed by the deputy head. (He's not really that bad btw, just tends not to question it if other kids egg him on to do something.)

Then Toby threw up again - all over the car - on the way to ds1's afterschool activity, and when I came to clean him/the car up it turned out his nappy had leaked too.

Went to bring ds1 home, and the boot lock on dh's car failed - it's gone into unshiftable locked mode while the boot is actually open, so now can't shut it, let alone lock it.

And to top it all while I was cooking dinner tonight ds1 was yelling for something so I went to sort him out and managed to leave the pasta server thing in the pan, and it melted.

Surely not much more can go wrong (famous last words!)?

kittywitch · 04/10/2007 20:58

Lunar, that's a truly shit day, you poor thing Lots of ((((hugs))) to you.

Calliween · 04/10/2007 21:29

Lunar - I really hope you've got a good bottle of wine to hand because my god you need it.

Scarey - only poos twice a day? - Jordi's on about 4 daily at the moment! Also, you're a step ahead of me in the clearing up sick stains. I discovered the other day in the middle of town that I had three big untouched stains down the front of my fleece - this was after I'd been out for about an hour at least.

Mossy, I bathe him every other day usually. I think that's often enough!

Covenhope - your poor DD. Is she ok now? Sorry about the dog, but I'm sure you'll get a good home for her.

Are any of your babies spotty? DS seems to frequently have spots or red marks around his mouth and chin, sometimes worse than others. I don't know if there's anything I can do about it. I've wondered if it was the milk, but last week when he was ill and just having milk for a day or so, his skin seemed better so not sure about that theory. My mum said teething can cause it - anyone found this?

eidsvold · 04/10/2007 22:44

lunar - I would have been a quivering mess by the end of your day. Hope things improve.

Callie - that can be from dribbing and it irritates the skin.

I have been looking at other dress ideas for party - some flapper dresses are like simple square shifts over petticoats with very open armholes so could do that sort of thing - will find a link later for you lot.

Thankfully it is at my aunt's home so if I feel that drunken 21 uni students are getting a bit much and I do not feel like wopping my boob out to feed - I can go off to the loungeroom or my aunt's bedroom to feed. Probably an option with miss nosy pants who keeps trying to see everything going on whilst I am reminded that my nipples are NOT elastic [ouch]

eidsvold · 04/10/2007 22:49

somthing like this that I could make as a 2 piece

or

trimmed with large sunhat. It is already getting rather hot so wanted something that might be a bit cooler than a satin flapper fringe too
