That's really nice of your mum Bumper. We've talked about getting a cleaner, but I won't have one in the house until its in a reasonable state . If I go back to work full time then a cleaner is a must I think. And hopefully by then I won't be ashamed of the state of my house

My problem at the minute is there's always so much to do and I always start in the kitchen, get so far with it, get sidetracked by DD, deal with her, then its lunchtime and the kitchen is messy again....repeat to fade....

I've been to the hospital this afternoon and I'm officially less mental than I was. I've even found myself enjoying life again on the odd occasion . So, I don't need to see them for another month and then I'll be dicharged to my GP...but will probably need the pills for several months at least.

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/07/2007 14:24

Ow foxy, I've had a blocked duct once and it's not nice at all . Hope things improve soon. I found hot flannel and massage helped me clear it, but my boob was sore for a few days afterwards as well.

bumperlicious · 25/07/2007 14:26

Daisy that's great! Glad you are marginally more sane Are you sure sticking around here is good for your mental health though?!

The only danger in getting a cleaner for a couple of weeks is that I might get too used to it! Won't be able to afford ourselves, though saying that, not sure what the going rate is.

Foxy - did you say you have a cleaner? ([envy!]) I knwo you are in the big smoke, but do you know what the going rate is? And what is cleaner ettiquette? What do they do/not do? Do they do laundry? Wash up? Or just dusting hoovering type stuff?

bumperlicious · 25/07/2007 14:38

right, this baby is going in th sling coz i need to go and get chocolate!

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/07/2007 14:39

We have a dairy milk easter egg that must be eaten by the end of July....bummer.

foxybrown · 25/07/2007 14:45

That's good news Daisy! Am glad you are officially not as mad as you were!

Bumper, my cleaners were recommended by a friend - definately the best way to find someone. I pay them far too little £6.50 an hour. I know they charge £8 or £8.50 to new clients.

Basically, I know it takes 5 hours to clean my house thoroughly so they (team of 2) do 2.5 hours each. Basically I did it myself and then asked them to do the same.

Trouble is Bumper, once you have a cleaner you really can't go back ... I've said it before, I'd rather go without wine than give them up!

Hmmm, wine. Why did I mention that?

bumperlicious · 25/07/2007 15:03

thanks for the info foxy. i will ask around. it would make me feel a bit better. we only have a little flat so i wouldn't imagine we'd need 5 hours worth. maybe I could do once a week for a month, courtesy of my mother then once a fortnight if dh and i can stretch to it. seems like such an induldgence though, i don't mean for you foxy, you have 4 DCs! but there is only 3 of us and we don't have a lot of money. i'll see how it goes.

right, i have chocolate and a celebrity trashy mag to read ...

bumperlicious · 25/07/2007 15:04

btw daisy - how can you still have an easter egg left in july???????

foxybrown · 25/07/2007 15:07

Enjoy Bumper! I am having popcorn and 'Flushed Away' movie afternoon. My children are lovely

foxybrown · 25/07/2007 15:09

The key is to do all the tidying yourself, then they come in and do the 'proper' cleaning.

There's nothing like coming home after they've been mmmmm!

OK, these things make me happy. Probably makes me a bit of a saddo!

Charlie999 · 25/07/2007 15:09

Oh how I'd love a cleaner

Mind you, I do have someone do my ironing (and like Foxy - I would give up everything except that ) and someone who walks my dog every day (goes back to full time working days).

Registered DD for nursery 3 days a week from December when I go back to work today - time goes so quickly .....don't want to go back to work....

bumperlicious · 25/07/2007 15:13

oh charlie, it's so sad to think about it isn't it? Sometimes i think i can't wait to get back to work and some days i just think i never want to leave dd!

Charlie999 · 25/07/2007 15:43

Feels like I've just started my mat leave - certainly don't want to wish it away....but need to get in quick to secure my days at the nursery I like

I'm very lucky to be able to go back part-time but right at the moment, don't want to go back at all - no choice there though

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/07/2007 16:49

June 07' - This season BabyBoo will be wearing her pink gingham flowery FuzziBunz...

...and looking gorgeous

Now to see if it passes the wee test!!

annobal · 25/07/2007 17:23

Hi everyone. We've just gotten back from a day's shopping with some lovely things to show...

Daisy, the fuzzis sound gorgeous. They don't need an outer wrapper, just an insert stuffed inside. I have a load of inserts which i will send to you as well (sorry, not got to post office yet).

Foxy, am of your 6 hours. DS3 seems to have been on a constant growth spurt for the last 3 days and just wants to feed all the time. So of course by the end of the day, my milk is very low and doesn't seem to last him long. Should pick up soon though...

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/07/2007 17:39

Hi annobal...I'd figured out the fuzzis. I should've washed it first but it's sooo gorgeous I had to put it on her. Did you find them quite reliable? It's this design but I bought it from Flame, another MNer

I'd been feeding on one side only each feed and was doing OK. Tried to do the two sides each feed as per Gina and feel like I'm running on empty as well now. She was getting really frustrated earlier as it wasn't gushing out like usual.

What have you been buying then?

annobal · 25/07/2007 17:50

Daisy, that's gorgeous! I thought you might have figured it out by now

I wonder if that is why my milk feels low - I've been feeding on 2 as well. Might switch back to one and see if that makes a difference.

foxybrown · 25/07/2007 18:01

LOL Annobal - I didn't get six hours! Oh how I wish I had!

I'm running on empty too. Not sure if DD is actually getting much, they feel empty nearly all the time. Wondering if that's why my left nipple hurts all the time. She didn't loose much after birth, but is still an ounce {sp?} down, weighed in at 9.10 yesterday.

sounds like my bathroom is being flooded...

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/07/2007 18:04

I think what's annoying DD is that she has to work a bit harder and she doesn't like it.

I read on kellymom that let down happens several times during the course of a feed but that you usually onlyfeel the first one. I've been trying to have confidence in my body. I'm also assuming that as my breasts feel "empty" then it will be nice rich hindmilk that she's getting to quicker?

Makes you wonder how women did this in the dim days before people knew how it worked. I assume they just got on with it and their mother/aunt/sister etc showed them what to do!

sputnik · 25/07/2007 18:34

Yoohoo everyone

derlor · 25/07/2007 18:37

evening
i have a question..... for those of you using disposable nappies what are you using?? we started off on pampers - liked them, but last time at the shops could only get huggies in newborn size, now nearly EVERY time she does a poo it squelches out EVERYWHERE. are huggies newborn just shite or is my daughter just a wee pooey bogger????????
love the LO's new nappies Daisy - there well cute.

derlor · 25/07/2007 18:38

hello lovely lady, how the hell are you???

foxybrown · 25/07/2007 18:40

I dont know. been expressing last three mornings, dd feeding lots, but don't feel 'full' except first thing.

derlor · 25/07/2007 18:42

BTW daisy and Annobal at between 6 and 12 weeks your boobs will begin to feel empty - this is perfectly normal as your body has now worked out exactly how much milk your LO needs and has realised that you don't need enormous, engorged norks any more!! So, don't worry there is enough to satisfy your LO. x

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/07/2007 18:42

yooohooo sputnik ....where you been hiding then?

Derlor, we started off using pampers but found that wee woukd escape up the back unless the elastic bit was folded in. We've since been using huggies which are containing DD's once every 2 or 3 day explosive poos. Also thought Tesco own were fine, if a bit flimsy looking. Boots own were fine too.

I think it must depend on the baby, but I like the stretchiness of huggies waistbands.

of course now we shall be mostly wearing cloth
