that's a definate Tell ya, if I had an enamel bath I'd try it.

cameroonmama · 02/08/2007 20:59

I've got an enamel bath but couldn't bear the thought of taking him out of bed and putting him in the middle of an empty cold bath for 5 mins in the middle of the night. Dh might have thought I had lost it

lillaura123 · 02/08/2007 21:24

lol dd1 not got to that stage yet - im sure growing pains exist i know its not the same but i remember being 12-13 and my hips ached alot then boobs surely u all recall that !

lillaura123 · 02/08/2007 21:33

as for phobias my ds is scared of flies yet i caught him eating ants the other day ???? strange

Juicylucytoo · 02/08/2007 21:33

Tam, FYI The HV told me she once had a BF baby brought in who'd not pooed for 15 days. Then did a masshosive poo while waiting to be seen in A&E

Not that you should wait 15 days before getting Tilda seen, but up to a week is quite normal for BF babies.

Mrs JB your advice is certainly not bollox! You saved my life with the potty training and gave me new ideas I hadn't thought of - thanks so much. I am pleased to say we have definitely cracked it. He has had 2 dry days now and is happy to wee and poo on the potty or in the toilet. I'm so proud of him. If anyone had told me this time last week he would be trained in 8 days I would have laughed my socks off but he has.

cameroonmama · 02/08/2007 22:01

well done Abbylou it is such a hurdle to cross and so satisfying when they manage it

cameroonmama · 02/08/2007 22:04

JL and Tam - forgot to say that I too had a friend who was in Ghana, whose bf baby had not pooped for 2 weeks, the health insurance co flew them back to London to an appt with a paed in Harley St and in the taxi nearing Harley St the baby did the world's largest poo and the doctor sent them straight away again

Mrsjaffabiffa · 02/08/2007 22:05

Thats fantastic abbylou. I'm soooo pleased he's cracked it.

I suppose at the end of the day, we all do things differently, what works for some doesn't work for others sometimes. It's just occured to me though that it doesn't really matter what method we use for anything as long as we are consistent and the babies/children understand the method it will work.

Night all. xxx

cameroonmama · 02/08/2007 22:11

...and on those wise words from MrsJB, I am popping off to try another dreamfeed.

Sleep well

lillaura123 · 02/08/2007 23:35

ohh what was the successful advice with potty training as my ds is a real pain he will do wee on potty when he feels like it will not go on toilet and hasnt even attempted a poo on either - but yet tells me he wants to go???

Lupins71 · 03/08/2007 08:07

H all, apologies I havent had time to catch up at all, just wanted to come and say hello and hope ev1 is ok, I gather no news from scoot yet - very worrying really hope all is ok

We are doing ok, I am trying to organise the house - not too successfully as its the hols and there is just clutter everywhere, dp has been signed off sick, so we need to work out how to get an income, Arlen is doing soooo well he is such a cutie, we are getting the cotbed down from the loft today as he keeps banging his little habds on the side of the crib,

Will try and catch up tnite - hopefully i will get some peace!!

lillaura123 · 03/08/2007 08:25

hi lupins, how are you?

AbbyLou · 03/08/2007 08:46

Lilllaura if you have a look a little further down this thread Mrs JB gave me some really good advice re potty training. There's also a useful thread on the potty training section called 'Right you inept sods one more potty training camp' which has been very useful. It was started by Cod who is some kind of potty guru!

cinnamontam · 03/08/2007 09:32

Thanks for all the good advice on the pooping all. I love you lot

Did the leg cycling, gave her a few baths and she's done 2 big quite watery poo's since last night. Thanks muchly

Spoke to Mars as well and she said it's down to her digestive bits maturing and growing. Quite common at this age. Relieved as I was convinced it was something I'd done

Mrsjaffabiffa · 03/08/2007 09:47

Good pooing cin. I remember both h & m going 4/5 days without pooing. I'm sure the hv told me that as long as they were weeing then it didn't matter for up to about a week?

Well, Jorja is definately through the night now. Every night for the last 10 days she has done between 10-11 for last feed through til 9-9.30am. Very pleased with that at 11 weeks old.

lillaura123 · 03/08/2007 09:54

thats brilliant mrsjb - Libby did well last night too she went down at 7.30 last night woke at 5.30 had feed then slept until 7 again so all i need to do is aim for her to drop that morning feed and i should get 11 hours

juliewoolie · 03/08/2007 10:06

Hi all quick question for you A has taken to waking up at 12.30ish as well as 3 ish and 6 not impressed that he has suddenly added a midnight feast. Are they going through growth spurts a 8/9 weeks or is it likely that he has just changed his routine?

juliewoolie · 03/08/2007 10:36

well done lillaura and Mrs JB lucky you

lillaura123 · 03/08/2007 10:39

is A BF or bottle hun? cause libby did that so i added another ounce to her feeds during the day

juliewoolie · 03/08/2007 11:06

he is BF, but has EBM before bed so I will try expressing a bit more and see how we go. Serves me right for being so smug that he only woke once a night

lillaura123 · 03/08/2007 11:25

no harm trying

Mrsjaffabiffa · 03/08/2007 11:49

Julie, he may be having a growth sput but it's also likely that he needs to stock up more during the day to last him through the night. Is it at all possibe that he has begun waking by habit rather than that he is hungry? When you say he wakes at 12.30ish, what time was his last feed before that?

Jorja sleeps right through but sometimes she doesn't have her last feed until 11ish, if she woke at 12.30, I would know it wasn't for food and that she was just fussing. A quick cuddle or her dummy would settle her back off again.

cinnamontam · 03/08/2007 12:19

Tilda had a growth spurt at 8 weeks and is having another one now at 11 weeks so could be that

Mrsjaffabiffa · 03/08/2007 12:19

Have just added some new pic's to my profile if any one would like to look please do.
