Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
aprilmeadow · 10/08/2007 17:16

He weighed 7lbs 15oz

scootermum · 10/08/2007 17:17

Thanks Statto!

aprilmeadow · 10/08/2007 17:20

LOL - just looked on her site

cameroonmama · 10/08/2007 17:23

LG&T such a trend setter and not yet 30! What are you doing for the big day? The big question is will Hugs be out of nappies by then to celebrate

Talking about laid back babies, third time round means J is so laid back he is almost horizontal, does this mean i am going to pay for it when he hits 2?

Scoot, I am facing pressure from the dc to hotfoot it down to the golden arches, now they have sewn the seed I can't get the idea out of my mind, plus I need to go to Sainsbuggers and they are right next door. I blame it on the terrible sublimal advertising from you every time you mention your dh.

My international man of mystery is currently hobbling around like an oap as today has been his snip, 'off with the crown jewels'(well not totally off, more altered irreparably). He says between the three he has here with me and the 7 in Mozambique, 10 in Kenya and half a dozen in Cameroon he thinks he has enough children now. He is off to China soon.. then we are just waiting for the work permit to come through for Kenya and he shall be away . As for the house...don't even go there. We are working out our 2 week notice period with the old estate agents and the new ones are getting our details ready. I am hoping for a Londoner looking for a weekend retreat - that would really piss the neighbours off!

Lovely sunny day here, the dc did painting outside and then painted themselves, ds1 now has blue streaked hair, very fetching

Lilaura I'm afraid I'm useless at offering advice in your kind of situations but you sound like you are being very sensible about it all.

April - send your MIL over here, I've got some cleaning she can do!

SKYTVADDICT · 10/08/2007 18:03

No wedding date set yet scoot. Decided C should be part of it and be able to carry the rings and not eat them!

scootermum · 10/08/2007 19:21

Blimey Cam--I wish my DH would have the snip-would save a whole lot of bother...blimey he's busy with all(buy Big Macs, Buy Big Macs) them kiddiwinks!
Is he very sore does he say?

Ive just been on her site now AM...I am secretly quite fascinated by Jordan..Have you see that fly on the wall doc her and Peter did? They are just plain bizarre...

Altogether now 'here comes the bride, dah dah da da'I love weddings..ooh ooh, Sky you can legitimately buy Bride magazine and ogle all the frocks...God if I had my time again Id go for HUGE one, mine was only a medium (vanilla milkshake)meringue in the end as I was curtailed by my Mother..now I would have the strength of mind to go full on (McFlurrie) pavlova!(Im so sad..style goes out the window when ive a chance to wear a huge frock)
To self:I wonder if anyone has spotted my subliminal Mcd's messages?Mwah ah ah, (evil laugh)

Mrsjaffabiffa · 10/08/2007 19:57

pmsl,

cameroonmama · 10/08/2007 20:02

god, now I really fancy some fish and chips

scootermum · 10/08/2007 22:30

Crikey-that wasnt the idea..but then I could suggest it to product development..genius!

Have had two pints of Kronenbourg and im anyones...no takers?...no?

Well- off to bed then...

night all x

aprilmeadow · 11/08/2007 07:47

Scoot....... me too I did watch the documentary they did and was glued to it. Gutted that it finished and now have to wait til October before its back on! Also you will be pleased to know that we added more pennies to the GA pot. 1/4pounder and 2 cheese burgers yesterday between dh and i for lunch. Have yet to try the mcflurrie as never seem to have a soare hand when i go in there. Might have to pop in when in town later on today.

Cam, your poor dh. Mine has said no way not now not ever! Hopefully he should be in less pain today. I remember when my boss had it done and with the help of pain killers he was much better the following day. Probably did help that his PA (me) was sent to collect him from hospital in her little ford KA and also that his chosen clothes for that day included JEANS - not comfy. Poor bloke, his wife was too busy having her hair dyed!

Hey MrsJB, think its safe now

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 11/08/2007 12:40

Good afternoon ladies. Firstly I must apologise for having been MIA for so long. Things have been hectic chez exSOH just recently (take a look at my profile and you can see exactly how all-consuming taking photos of your first born is ).

Have had a quick scan of the thread and glad to see Scoot present, correct, healthy and putting it about in a rather obscene manner. SkyTV, many congratulations on the engagement. I still harp on about my wedding now, bore everybody to death really but it was such a lovely day.

Aherm... lillaura, my God chick. Well done you for being so mature and together atm. You're doing fantastically.

Must also have a wee at international man of mystery's little operation. Ouchy.

I must catch up properly with the rest of the thread. Hello to everybody, hope all is well, sun is shining, birds chirping, Louis Armstrong providing a gentle soundtrack to your blissful weekends etc etc.

Everything here in sunny Norfolk is great. We managed our first trip out without the baby on Thursday. It was just lunch at Pizza Express but my Old Folks came over and babysat for a couple of hours. I made the mistake of thinking that 8.5oz of ebm was enough to get her through two hours without me, but came back to a baby hopefully sucking her fist, two empty bottles and my mother looking dazed and shaking. She attempted a polite 'she likes her food, doesn't she?' and I resisted the temptation to whip off my top and scream 'these things here used to be human breasts. Take note, they are now husks, suitable only for entrance into a Modern Milking Machines And How The Mighty Have Fallen competitions'. Yes, it is safe to say that Mathilda likes her food. Still planning on exclusive feeding to 6 months, I may lose all sanity by that point though as she still feeds every couple of hours at the very least. Still, she's extremely happy. Had her second set of jabs and failed to even notice that it had happened. She was mildly annoyed that DH held her hands out of the way to stop her trying to grab the needle, as clearly her hands are for sucking, swiping and waving about wildly. The sharp pointy thing in her legs didn't even register as she grinned inanely at the nurse.

We've been having serious heart to hearts here in rural CowLand. I am due to go back to work when M is 9 months and I honestly can't do it. I never expected to be the one who wasn't desperately excited to get back to work. I love my job but 9 months is too soon. DH, smashing chap that he is, has suggested I extend my maternity leave to 1 yr. It'll be tight financially but I may feel happier leaving her when she's a bit older and perhaps fully weaned. Of course, ideally, I'll write a bestseller and never have to leave her. This turn in attitude I did not expect.

Oh and finally, I stupidly opted for 40 situps this morning. Wrong choice entirely.

Creena · 11/08/2007 12:51

Hullo ladies!

This thread is totally mahooosive so apologies for not reading through and catching up properly. Just thought I'd pop in to say hello and mention that it occured to me the other day that there'll be a MAY 2008 ante natal thread starting soon.....doesn't time fly, eh?

Hope all of you and your little ones are well and thriving. Conor and I are fine. He's growing like a good un and smiling and cooing like crazy. I also think that he might be teething already - he's dribbling like mad, gnawing on his hands, producing very runny poos, gets a little bit hot at times and has some really grumpy afternoons. He's also discovered that he can push himself around with his feet - he likes to travel up to the top of his cotbed to get at his teddies and also uses the bars on the side of the cotbed to rotate himself in a clockwise direction. If he goes for a sleep without his dream pod/sleeping bag, I'll find hiim upside down when I go to check on him. I've had to put rolled up blankets down the sides of the cotbed where the bumper doesn't reach to prevent his feet getting stuck behind the bars. I think I'll have to have eyes everywhere once he starts crawling.

Not much more news - we're hoping to go away to Cornwall for a week from next Saturday. I say 'hoping' because DH is meant to be booking somewhere for us to stay and, typically, hasn't done it yet. We've also finallyput our house up for sale after much feet dragging from DH - we really need more space now so there's no getting away from it any more. Fingers crossed we get an offer soon.

Anyway. Got laundry to do - will pop in again later and try to catch up properly.

madeindevon2 · 11/08/2007 13:06

i fed F at 6 then again at 7.15 before bed and he slept thru til 5am. so im chuffed with that. gonna keep trying to do that. well done freddie.

anyone else hate going to docs with baby? went to his 1st check yesterday and was slightly concerned about him having jabs...but that was actually the best bit!!! i knew was for own good, nurse was nice and F only cried briefly....stopped as soon as it was over...
but it was diff story seeing the HV and doc..
F has a bit of dry skin which HV said was "very bad ecxma" and made me feel terrible...thinking i should have taken him earlier...it really isnt that bad. its been dry past week i suppose but been using oilatum (which they now prescribes me) and didnt see point making extra appointment for earlier this week....anyway....feeling pretty shitty at this point....
see the doc and he notes that Freddie's weight has dropped of the 75th percentile line and is now midway between 50th and 75th and doc says gotta keep eye on it....do i top him up with formula (no i dont....and do i really need to??) ffs he is 9 weeks old and weighs 12lb8 hes not exactly fading away? he looks very well and is a very happy smily contented baby but the "health professionals" made me feel like a bad mum....
rant over

juliewoolie · 11/08/2007 13:37

MID bollox to the HV and Doc 12 8 is fine I havnt taken my LO for a few weeks as I know they will ask me to top up and I am not doing it. If they eat sleep are alert and reaching physical milestones ok then they are ok.

Just keep remembering the growth charts in the red book are based on formula babies.

Went to see Prince last night - he was amazing people go on about him being sexy etc but never thought it until last night seeing him and hearing him woo >>>

Enjoy the sunshine

cameroonmama · 11/08/2007 15:19

Julie I am ssooooooo I went to see Prince way back when most of you posting on here were still wearing nappies and I just LOVE the man. He could do with being a bit taller though, don't you think?

Talking of artists formerly known as, welcome back SOH. Sounds like Mathilda is a match for our Jasper.

MID, 12lb 8 sounds grand to me..

The other 2 dc are at granny's for the day and night, bliss, so J and I went shopping, only he wasn't impressed even though I managed to get some fabulous bargains at Monsoon. As soon as we got home he went into his cot and out like a light, he likes his bed too much that one. I've got 2 girlfriends from London coming down for the night and whilst dh is nursing his knackers we are going out..yippee!

Oh by the way, I tried to let J go without his dreamfeed at 10.30 last night, and he woke up at 1.30 and 4.30. So I am not doing that again...

cameroonmama · 11/08/2007 15:31

I got distracted there for a minute by Prince, what I really came on say was DD passed her very first ballet exam with a Distinction!

scootermum · 11/08/2007 18:17

Oh well done to DD CamSend her all our best May congrats..
I havent tried going without the dream feed and im not gonna..if it aint broke, dont fix it..
Have a good night tonight..I am about to open some Rose which is about as good as it gets hereabouts for cest soir..

MID..How odd F is the exact same weight as M...and I was worrying M was too Big!So as for being worried about percentile lines and all that palaver, pah!Thats what I say, the boy sounds fine to me!HV's sometimes live to make Mothers feel guilty I think..one told me once that if I continued to let Lily push up on her legs at 4 months she would end up bow legged..I coudnt stop her of course, and her legs are fine and dandy..

Hi Creena..nice to see ya..

Aha AFKA SOH..How goes it?Glad to hear our little Mathilda is still sucking you dry like a good un...I have zero desire to go back to work ever...am enjoying being off again..I hated going back after Lily but at least I was pretty much pg again straight away so knew it wouldnt be for long..I was still a wreck at leaving her...God knows how I will manage leaving two with no more time off on the horizon...(DH has said no more babies in the immediate future so that option is out for me this time around)Get started on your book Missus...only solution...would you like me to proof read?I am a very fast reader..it is one of my few skills...

Here April...and all other fellow Phil and Tedders..at what stage are you planning to put J (or apropriate initial for older child) in the bottom of the P and T, and the baby in the top bit?M is about to grow out of the newborn bit as she is freakishly long, but I dont see Lily taking kindly to having to sit below and am I correct in thinking the baby cant sit below till its 6 months?

DH has been at college today so the girls and I, (well just me really) have deep cleaned the house, (nearly died in the heat whilst doing it), played with Lilys farm animals and paddling pool and have just got back from a nice 4 miles round the big house near us's grounds...quite a nice day really...Gonna have a lovely Pizza for tea and a few glassed of wine before Match of the Day..I love it when the footie starts again..

aprilmeadow · 11/08/2007 18:34

well...... i have actually bought the car seat to go with the P&T so have gotten round that one for now. I do still put her in the cocoon if we are going to be out for long periods of time, so that she isnt all hunched and also to allow Jack to have a better snooze. I did take her to the last meet up in my old maclaren and she was pretty upright in that and didnt seen too bothered by it. Try it she might like it. Jack isnt so keen on sitting underneath but will do if he gets tired with the whole walking thing!

Tried the flake McFlurrie and wasnt overly impressed by it. Cant beat the Smarties one IYAMO

Well done to your DD Cam. I didt ballet when i was little but only managed a Highly Commended certificate.

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 11/08/2007 18:37

Football? Football? That'll be 22 men kicking an inflated sheep's bladder up and down a bit of lawn then. Is it you that once admitted to liking cricket too? Repeat after me Scoot, "rugby is a real sport, we all love rugby".

Football is not a sport.

aprilmeadow · 11/08/2007 18:53

SOH take that back. Football IS a sport and a good one at that.

Good to see you back

aprilmeadow · 11/08/2007 18:54

Who do you support Scoot? I am a Spurs fan, dh supports Watford (guess someone needs to )

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 11/08/2007 19:46

Okay, Wayne Rooney is quite entertaining I will concede. There are very few human beings who continue to look like a King Edward potato post babydom. Quite a feat. And Thierry Henri is fairly easy on the eye I suppose. Otherwise they're a bunch of prissy, overly-coiffeured, pretty boys who need to get a real job.

PS Some of you lot had better be coming to my bbq next week. Cam's made her feeble excuses. LG&T has disappointed me more than when I wrote to Jim'll Fix It, aged 7 asking to meet the Larkins only to be told they aren't real. There was me thinking that this was my chance to meet the new, improved Ma Larkin and she's having an ill-scheduled birthday of all things. Sheesh!

Lupins if you do come, Kings Lynn is the nearest station and I can collect you from there.

aprilmeadow · 11/08/2007 21:33

Really sorry but we will be unable to make is as we are of to Brands Hatch to watch the British Touring Car Championships. Have to go as Dh sponsors one of the drivers and they are laying a fantastic hospitality coach for us.

Gutted, i was really looking forward to meeting you and jack wanted a ride on the combine harvester

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 11/08/2007 21:42

No, no, no. You must come to Norfolk. There are baby chicks in the garden. DH will be manning a bbq/singing his eyebrows. There's no finer entertainment to be had. Touring cars indeed.

Am gutted though. All my favourite MNers not coming, tis sad.

aprilmeadow · 11/08/2007 23:10

We are having Ella Christened on Sunday 26th August. If any of you lovely ladies are around you are more than welcome to come along. We are having it in the Church where we got married and also where ds was christened, followed by nibbles and cake in the little hall.
