Just a quick one!

Have spent a tedious 5 hours ebaying Charlotte's stuff that she is or soon will be too big for. Moses basket, 0-3 month clothes etc. Have now also got rid of my maternity bras and clothes, and am getting rid of all my pregnancy books. Need space! I feel done in!

Will be getting her cot bed put up at the weekend and spent some silly ammount of money on the secret garden bedding range from mothercare Needs must

She's currently lying on the floor bare arsed shifting herslef about. [proud mum!]

Scoot yes you can give them cool, boiled water. Alway's give it to C when she's been fed but is still whining - Obviously dehydrated. Exams that I missed in May due to me giving birth, need to take mine in the resit period.

AM glad holiday went ok. We've booked to go to Malta in october - C's swimming costumes have already been bought - I have a money spending problem me thinks!

LG&T glad camping was fun [smie]

lillaura try taking L's nappy of for a while. C loves it and kicks away - doesn't make a sound until she's fed up of it 30 minutes later. Means I can always get stuff done quickly.

Que LW needing to go as C has now moved herself of her mat and pissed all over the carpet! [not so poud mum]

LWandLottie · 07/08/2007 20:22

Oh crap just remembered C had her jabs today and I've totally forgotten! This is the second time she has missed them. Bugger bugger bugger!

InTheseShoes · 07/08/2007 20:29

Welcome back AM, sounds like a great holiday, lol at "popping into EuroDisney" like it's the corner shop. I fancy EuroDisney next year, I reckon DS1 is at a perfect age for it.

T has his jabs tomorrow, I am dreading it, he is so fabulous and smiley and gurgly and sleeping so well I am terrified it is going to upset the applecart! I can't bear the thought of him being in pain from the needle, you wouldn't think I'd done all this before... Saw the hv today and scored nice and low on the PND scale which is good. It is a bit of a crap test though, it relies on the mum being completely honest and asking for help, which we all know is probably one of the things someone with PND might find really hard to do. Although I can't think of any alternative.

I am having to work really hard at things with DS1 at the moment, I think it's a comination of the school holidays, new baby, his age, my reduced level of patience... we have had to write a 10 point plan and put it on the fridge, laying down some guidelines and rules to try to make our lives easier. So far so good, but my god it's hard work. I have to keep reminding myself that it will all be worth it in the end. We're off to Devon on Saturday for a week to stay with some really good friends, so we're really looking forward to that.

Anyone watching Cook Yourself Thin tonight? I'm after ideas for losing some of this alleged baby weight, which is more likely caused by my inability to get through a day without some sort of refined sugar product

aprilmeadow · 07/08/2007 20:41

ITS - We love Disney. We try and go every year although it is normally to Florida. This was the 2nd time i had been to EuroDisney and the 2nd time it rained! They have 2 parks there now Magic Kingdom & MGM Studios. If you do go may i suggest going by Eurostar. The terminal is within the Disney complex and is literally 2mins from the main gate and also from the hotel they have there. We are thinking of going at the end of the month for a long weekend with dh's business partner & his wife & dd.

cameroonmama · 07/08/2007 20:58

Welcome back April - glad you had such a good time, we are going to France in 10 days and I am looking forward to speaking French again after leaving Cameroon 7 months ago. DD was fluent when we left, it'll be interesting to see if it comes flooding back to her

We have yet to do Disney, I am a little sceptical as to whether dh and I would be able to stand it, however everyone always comes back with glowing reports.

Abby, dh is a strategic consultant, currently travelling all over for the company with whom he is going into partnership in Kenya. It sounds more fancy than it is

ITS- you have my sympathies re ds.. Where are you going to in Devon? Have a lovely time.

I have become an ebay addict, buying lots of stuff for the dc for next summer for Kenya, bargainatious. Now I need to sort out my maternity stuff - is it easy to list on ebay? I'm not sure I can be faffed with all the posting business.

juliewoolie · 07/08/2007 21:50

hi all,

welcome back AM.

Cant chat am too knackered Juicylucy made me walk all the way round the biggest park in the world this afternoon, am know having to consumme a very large bar of chocolate to get my energy levels back up.

SKYTVADDICT · 07/08/2007 22:01

Hi all

We have our PC back at last - hurray!

Too tired to post much tonight but Callum doing well, had his second jabs today and has been very sleepy. Will be 14 weeks on Saturday and weighed 14lb 6oz 2 weeks ago. Still good at night but we went away for a week last week and now he wakes between 11 and 12 again then goes throunh until 6 - whereas before we went away he fed at 9/10 then went through til 6.

Post more tomorrow and will try and catch up.

Juicylucytoo · 07/08/2007 22:11

JW step away from that chocolate bar!! All our efforts will be in vain (says she shoving the crumbs down the sofa from her vanilla slice )

O has been down since 9pm. Will see how tonight goes.

juliewoolie · 07/08/2007 22:30

well done JL hope he sleeps well for you - he probably has a headache from listening to my munchkin scream his way round the park.

Pebblemum · 07/08/2007 23:02

Does anyone know what the male version of PMT is called? My Dh is currently suffering with a severe case of it. Ever since he woke yesterday morning he has been so grumpy. Nothing either I or the kids did was right and he was moaning about the least little thing. In the end I had a massive go at him and he stormed out the house, this was at 1pm yesterday afternoon and he hasnt spoken to me since lol. He came home from work last night got the spare quilt, slept on the sofa then when he got up today he had a bath and buggered off out Apparantly he came back this afternoon but i was round my sisters. I expect that shocked him, he probably thought i would be sat indoors waiting for him Men!!

Before going to my sisters I did a bit of retail therapy and boy did it feel great!! Today was the first time in ages I went and spent money on myself, normally I buy for the kids, and I know have some nice clothes for when we go away Friday.

On returning home my neighbour had a suprise for me. Last week she won a complete hair makeover ie wash, cut, colour etc worth £70 but she didnt want it as she already has short hair. She knows ive been wanting my hair done for ages but prefer to spend my spare money on the kids and so she gave it to me What a lovely neighbour. Now all i have to do is choose a style and book the appointment. I only dyed my hair on Saturday so I guess i will just have highlights/lowlights added.

My night out with Dh went well (he didnt have PMT then lol). MIL ended up having Alana and ds2 all night. It felt strange sleeping in the bedroom without her but it did mean i could drink without worrying about being in a fit state to look after her. I did make sure i got up early enough to get round MIL's by 9am but as it was Alana had been fed and was fast asleep in the garden so she obviously didnt miss me

Im now off to look through my hair books for a new style, think i may go for somehting totally different, at the moment my hair is halfway down my back so maybe a short style is in order.

Night all

AbbyLou · 08/08/2007 07:55

Pebble waht a lovely neighbour you have, pity they're not all like that. It's amazing how good a trip to the hairdressers makes you feel isn't it. I know what you mean about the pmt, my dh gets it too. He has just started working from home and I know he's finding it difficult with us all here but he sometimes takes it out on me and that's not fair. I think he'll be glad when C goes back to the cm in September and I go back to work in October.

largeginandtonic · 08/08/2007 09:55

Morning everyone

I am loving the toasty weather we are having and the fact my DH is on leave until Sunday. It is making life easier having help and some sun

Things i am not loving....Beau falling off his percentile line having only gained 9oz in 3 weeks. The car breaking down last week while exp had the children, he had to hire a minibus to get them all home, the car has been towed to a garage and is now fixed. I can collect tomorrow for the very pricey sum of £600 I stood on the scales at MIL when i was in Plymouth 2 weeks ago and was HORRIFIED to discover that despite squeezing in to a size 12 before i left i am still 11 stone 7lbs!!!!!!!!!! FFS i am feeding an elephant, sure it went faster before.

Clearly im getting old (30 in a week) and having 6 may have finally tipped my body in to dooooooom and fatness >

Im also not loving the fact i cant go to GW'S BBQ as we are being visited by MIL and FIL that weekend. I am still sulking

We have been attempting to potty train Hugo too, disaster. He has managed a couple of wees on the potty but thats it and im tepted to throw in the towel for another few months, trouble is it will be bloody winter by then.

Rant over, very sorry

Cam will DH be away for the whole time? Good grief, come and stay with me.

AM i LOVE disney! I have been a couple of times, once with a boyfriend on our own I have taken all the kids though, Jonah was a baby.

Scoot i hope you are resting, you must >

madeindevon2 · 08/08/2007 11:30

squeezing into a 12? you lucky thing.
i have had to go out and buy a lot of size 14 clothes and there was no way i was squeezing into any of my clothers. given that about three quarters of my wardrobe is 10 and the rest size 12 its very depressing...my body is a wreck but im still so hungry!?
im thinking exercise is the only way (oh and cut out choc altogether.....difficult...im every so slightly addicted...)

wanted to say welcome back to scoot. so sorry to hear what happened. hope you are on the mend and feeling better.
im gonna be away at weekend for 3 weeks but maybe meet up when im back and when you have fully recovered??

hope everyone else is ok and enjoying this gorgeous weather.

lillaura123 · 08/08/2007 14:36

hi all, ive had a tough few days with h (no longer dh) as i threw him out - but thats a diff story all together im claiming indepedence by painting my kitchen pale pink and black lol

MKG · 08/08/2007 14:39

Hi everyone! We had our 11 hour car trip yesterday and I have to say it was fab! Three words. "Portabale DVD player" Mateo watched his movies and was so happy, surprisingly didn't sleep at all. and Cruz was a dream. I gotta go because am at sisters, but will catch up soon.

scootermum · 08/08/2007 19:46

Blimey? Are you ok lillaura?Did I miss something re DH whilst I was gone?
Here if you need us, of course...

(Spect kitchen will look fab tho!)

Well..if car has to break down, glad it did it on Exp's time gandt...but £600 is a bit of an arse..

Glad you had a nice time April..and hope the weather holds so your washing can dry!

Im back in my size 12's too.only 3lbs to go bepfore im pre Mae weight..(and about 2 stone to go before im pre Lily weight, as if that will ever happen)Cant live without chocolate but am weaning self off with the help of ice lollies, 99p for 12 from Tesco, 45 calories a pop...at least it feels like a pudding even if its not the same as a nice bar of choc...

No viewers in 3 months Cam?Deffo time for a change of estate agents I think..we are just tying up the final survey-ey bits of ours...then I have to get my head round moving from my dear little house, (which I love but is too too small) and once ive stopped sobbing re that, pack everything up..gaaah!Do you want to come to me for Christmas if DH is going away in Dec?Dont like to think of you on your own...Bring the Dc's and we will cook a goose!

My DH also seems to have PMT..He has come home in a foul mood..he says nothing is wrong however so im ignoring him and am going in the bath with my book..(hate baths but have a bad back)

Your on for meet up, MID...Let me know when you are back..

How is DH Lups?I take it not so great if he's been signed off?

Big wave to everyone else ive missed...

M has had her first jabs today, (screamed bloody murder) and also has diorrhea..(sp?), so have changed 8 dirty runny nappies today..am just waiting for L to get it, then I will end up responsible for about half the land fill in Hertfordshire on this rate..I ran out of wipes at 2pm and had to use facial cleansing wipes till I could get out to the shop!

twelveyeargap · 08/08/2007 21:08

Hurray! Scoot is back! So relieved you're (almost) ok.

TYG - Sleep guru? You flatter me... We're all off-kilter now with the travelling around and sleeping in strange houses/ beds. Didn't bring the travel cot with me on this trip (to Ireland) as my mum had a travel cot for me. Now we're home, but just until Saturday so I've decided to put A in our travel cot this week so she can get used to it and then hopefully won't be too unsettled whilst we're away (in Chamonix). Feckin' weather in the Alps was great when I booked the damn thing and it was piddling down here and now we've got great weather and wait for it... The weather forecast for the next two days is for a high of 11 degrees. Eh, hello? We're going for a summer holiday, not for skiing. Jaysis.

Anyway, back to the sleep thing. I've decided that once DH and DD are back at work/ school respectively, then she'll be in Baby Bootcamp (as AM would say ). She's fairly good going down at night, but now the day naps have gone haywire because we haven't been at home to keep even a tiny bit of routine. The poor child didn't go for a sleep until 2pm today and she was like a zombie. I need 3-5 days at home with her, with no plans for leaving the house and I think I'll have her on track. I think some babies get along just fine going with the flow and since DD1 was like that, it came as something of a shock when I finally realised it wouldn't work with DD2. She really craves a routine. She seems quite sensitive. Doesn't sleep well in cars or in the buggy. Is VERY nosey, so finds it really hard to actually get to sleep at all. She fights sleep right to the last. She does much better when we have a routine (not a by-the-clock schedule, just a routine). She thrives on knowing what to expect.

Bugger about the car LG&T. ( @ your ex-h having to hire a minibus though - arf!) Mine has a flat tyre. Doh. I told the service-man that it had a slow puncture, but he reckoned it was ok, so convinced me NOT to change the rear two. Nice of him to try to save me money, but now I've either to get a pump and pump it up just to get me to the tyre place, or call the AA and get them to put the space-saver tyre from the boot (not a real spare, just a make-do thingy) on and then go and get new tyres. My granddad reckons green cars are bad luck. It seems like one thing after another with this one. Doh.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 08/08/2007 21:13

Hello everyone.

Thank you AM for Maddie's birthday wishes for today. She has had a lovely day, the weather was fab and we had a big garden party for her.

lillaura. Hope you are OK. We are here to chat if you need cheering up.

lg&t, boo hoo about the car, what a pain. Beau chomp up sweetie. Jorja is a chunk now.

peb, male pmt is soooooooooo true, Hope he kicks out of it soon. A definately gets it once a month! What a nice neighbour, go on go for something different. My motto is, it's only hair it grows back if you don't like it and you never know you may just LOVE it. Pleased you had a lovely evening out and Alarna was happy on her sleepover.

Scoot, LMAO at the facial bum wipes.

MKG, I am very much with you and the car DVD. Our's is a god send when we travel too and from the UK.

ITS, Hope the jabs went ok.

SKY, Glad you've got your PC back, nice to hear from you.

re weight, I've rejoined my yummy slimming world. I'm doing it on line. It's going great and I'm hooked again, have lost 10lb in 2 weeks. Only another 28 to go.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 08/08/2007 21:24

TYG, Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh Chamonix, you have to have a go on the tobaggan run. It's such fun. Takes you and sled up on chair lift and then toboggan down the tracks to the bottom. One of my favorite places the mountains, clean, crisp air, hope the weather's better for you.

I know what you mean about A being unsettled whilst out and about. Jorja is the same, she hates not being at home in her normal routine. I took her out on Monday, we were out from 11am til 5pm she was NOt impressed, she had a bottle whilst we were out at 3pm, she was so fed up when we got back I gave her a quick bath and then put her in her to bed at 5.30pm, we then had to wake her at 11pm as she hadn't had a bottle since 3. Maddie was the same but Harrison was totally different he was a very portable baby and was happy being carted around anywhere.

twelveyeargap · 08/08/2007 21:56

I've been a bit like that, MrsJB, with the early bedtimes. If she hasn't had a sleep mid afternoon then I do her bath really early like that and put her to bed around 6ish.

Thanks for the tip on the toboggan run! Happy birthday to Maddie.

Meant to say LG&T - don't worry too much about Beau. A couple of off-weeks is all he's had. You've had some busy weeks - remember a couple of weeks ago before DH came home you were really going through the mill? Well perhaps his feeding was off a bit with all that was going on. 9oz in three weeks isn't awful. It's just a little blip. You'll know yourself if he's not thriving. He might even be getting more active and using up more energy and his feeding needs to catch up.

SKYTVADDICT · 08/08/2007 22:03

Hi all

I'm glad to report we seem to have a very portable baby. Were away in Blackpool last week and he went where we went - e.g. the club at night, had his last feed when we got in then went through until 6 or 7 - it was 8 once!

Last night was the best yet. I fed him at 7 - he was awake until 9 then fell asleep so I put him in his cot (travel cot in our room as he still won't have a room for the foreseeable future) and he didn't wake until 6.40.

Re diet - I definitely need to go one one but I told DP that I can't change my diet drastically to eat lots of fruit as DS will get an upset stomach (b/f still going well) and he likes me eating lots of chocolate biscuits anyway .

Seriously though, I have put on [YES PUT ON!] about 4lb since having Callum - I really think the idea is to lose weight after giving birth isn't it?

InTheseShoes · 08/08/2007 22:05

I'm having a panic, I've got the baby group round here tomorrow! Argh! Mad tidying up going on and DH currently tidying up the garden as they will have to park thier prams there!

T had his jabs today and it was horrible, I cried. He was so lovely and smiley with the GP for his check before it and I felt dreadful knowing that he was about to feel awful. He has been a bit cranky and out of sorts for the afternoon but seemed a bit more back to normal before bed.

LGT, T is 13lbs 10.5 oz and has gone from the 98th to the 91st centile, I wasn't really that worried, do you think I should be? He is completely breastfed, and the centile lines are based on formula fed babies, yes? Also, his head measurement is on the 91st centile (also down from the 98th) so I presume he is in proportion.

SKYTVADDICT · 08/08/2007 22:15

Callum will be getting weighed tomorrow but was 14lb 6oz two weeks ago and on the 75th centile but the 91st for head and length. I shouldn't worry LG&T - Beau will catch up i'm sure.

I am desperate for a rest and just to stay at home for a few days but seem to keep going out all the time to keep the DDs amused!

cameroonmama · 08/08/2007 22:23

Lovely chatting tonight

LG&T I wouldn't worry too much about Beau's weight drop, don't they soon start to plateau a bit anyway? As long as you think he is thriving you should be ok. Sometimes i worry that J weighs TOO much, over 15lbs a week ago (11 weeks), you can't win.

Thanks for the offers girlies for the next couple of months, I might take you up on your offers, though I suspect that adding another 3 into the mix LG&T might just tip you over the edge . Sorry about the car, but at least your exp had to deal with it.

J is very portable in so much as he doesn't complain and is easy going but is not too keen on sleeping when we are out and about. He prefers his bed. Last night he went to bed at 7, had a tiny top up at 10, then 5.15 then we had to wake him at 10am!

Sky - I know how you feel about being out and about all the time to keep the dc entertained. Today it was such beautiful weather we went to the seaside, Chesil Beach and had a lovely time, even though it was quite difficult trying to keep J out of the sun, I think I need to buy one of those suntent thingies. Where do I get them from?

cameroonmama · 08/08/2007 22:25

Forgot to say that on the weight front I can now squuuuueeeezzze into a 12, but still weigh 1 stone over my pre-preg weight. I am trying to not eat rubbish but just had to help both dcs when they struggled with their ice cream cones today
