Hello ladies! Hope you are all well!
I have tried to read through the posts but Iv missed a lot so il try catch up with what's been going on with you all and you're LO.

I'm starting to get there, they put me on 50mg sertraline to start and wanted to wait 4weeks before increasing it. The 50mg helped the sadness to disappear but it didn't help the wanting to kill myself or me hurting myself so they upped them after 2 weeks instead. I'm on day 5 of 100mg and it seems to be settling the want to die and I feel like I love my LO even more than I did before (I loved her before but I just feel so much different about it now) and they are going to start me on emotional coping therapy in the next couple of weeks.
I'm starting to be able to deal with her crying in the car if I can't pull over. It's hard but I managed yesterday and today to not hurt myself while she cried before I could pull over and then I just took a time out to debrief.
It's a slow and long road to recovery but I know I can get there!
Thanks for the well wishes Smile

@Sheeni aw what classes are you doing? Sounds like you had a great time today and like he had a great nap in yesterday's haha. So cute that he was chatting with the other babies! I wonder what it is about other babies that they seem to be fascinated by? My LO is 3months yesterday. We do baby massage on a Tuesday and Jo Jingles on Wednesday. Next week we start baby sensory too on a Friday. The massage one is ok but its hit and miss as to whether he whines or not but its only 5 weeks long so we've got another 3. He was happy just sitting on my knee last time watching the other babies, as this one was free i don't mind haha but would be nice to take part next week! Today's Jo Jingles was our first one and its very loud with musical instruments and mostly singing. He seemed ok but as @cardboard33 says, sensory overload! Will give it another go next week. I'm more looking forward to baby sensory next week. They have a play time towards the end too with loads of mats etc and i think he'll like seeing all the other babies playing.

@cardboard33 i think I'll preserve then if it also took your LO a few weeks to seem like they were enjoying it. All the other babies seem to be enjoying it so hopefully he'll be less overwhelmed as time goes on. Are there any classes you would recommend? Really hope the water is sorted soon but glad you have some as a back up.

@BadBadBeans ha well that's a good way of finding a silver lining, hope they go well tomorrow! Aw yeh i love the back and forward chatting and you're right, it happens so quickly. Even before he could make noise he'd chat with me via his arms flailing about, so cute! Thats also really lovely that the lady you met said that, I'd be made up with that too. Your toilet floor story is impressive, i can only imagine my anxiety if i had to do that!

@shiny888 lovely to hear from you! It sounds like you have made amazing progress already and I'm so glad that the higher dose is helping you cope and also stop you hurting yourself. You're doing amazing xx

shiny888 · 12/06/2019 21:00

@melissa112 thank you! Yes getting there which is good 😊.
Wow just read your post your busy with LO! I was thinking of doing baby massage but at home sometimes she isn't fussed on it Confused.
The only set class we are in is swimming on a Wednesday morning which she likes and have been on and off taking her to sing, story, sign if I have a good day on the days it's on.
It's crazy how quickly everything goes with them isn't itShock

kee80 · 12/06/2019 21:34

@shiny888 so glad to hear that the tablets are helping and your starting to feel a little better. You will get there you've done so well so far keep up the good positive work xx

ballanj · 13/06/2019 08:30

@shiny888 it's really good to hear from you and that you're making progress and getting all the help you need. You're doing a brilliant job and you take care of yourself x

ballanj · 13/06/2019 08:34

@melissa112 I laughed at your post about LO loving nothing more to play with than a muslin. Mine is exactly the same, he loves cuddling them after his feed when he's relaxing in his chair.

As for entertainment, I do worry I don't do enough sometimes. We have loads of talking time and I rolled up this morning as when I peered over the top of the Snuzpod to say morning and I was greeted with the biggest excitable scream 😂

We flit between a rocker/bouncer, the playmat which has about a million things hanging off it now 😂 and his changing mat. My LO loves nothing more than thrashing about chatting on the changing mat being completely naked 😂

Jenfur · 13/06/2019 08:57

@shiny888 it's great to hear from you and that you're doing better. Hope things keep improving quickly and you can enjoy motherhood more.

@BadBadBeans that lady probably doesn't even realise how much that lovely compliment would mean. Definitely pay it forward Smile

Jenlou1992 · 13/06/2019 11:51

Thank you all for your replies

@melissa112 in terms of the tv . My LO will sit in her bouncer after she has awoken in the morning after her feed and I'll put CBeebies on whilst I do some cleaning for like 20-30mins and if I ever need to do anything in the day I will put CBeebies on but she will be playing with toys on bouncer or she will look at the t.v.. I'm not concerned as it's minimal time she watches it and sometimes it's the only time I can cook or clean otherwise I bring her with me . I wouldn't worry about it too much

@shiny888 seems like your going in the right direction . You will have bad days but just know there is a light at the end of the tunnel and your heading that way well done on getting help and carrying on . Be proud your doing amazing

melissa112 · 13/06/2019 13:54

@shiny888 oh thats lovely that you take her swimming, any tips? We are hoping to take our LO swimming soon when i can muster up the courage! I love swimming in the sea etc and go bodyboarding but haven't been to a pool in probably well over 10 years.

@ballanj haha yeh same here with LO eating the musling while in his chair. Sometimes he gets cranky while I'm eating breakfast so i pop him on my knee with his cloth and he's well happy haha. Oh he loves naked time but don't you get a lot of wee shooting around haha? We had some up the wall yesterday 🤣

@Jenlou1992 thanks for that about the tv, I'm gonna stop feeling bad now. Dont even know why i did! He still hates tummy time but i cheated today, popped him over my legs and put this really annoying 5 little ducks song on the TV which he loves and actually managed 4 minutes. I think sometimes i just need the reassurance that others are doing the same thing too. Not a bad idea to do that so you can cook. I cant remember the last time i cooked anything and end up really hungry bu the time DP comes home because i cant get anything done but now i feel much better.

melissa112 · 13/06/2019 13:54

*muslin

melissa112 · 13/06/2019 13:58

Does anyone know how long they can go in the car seat now?is it still half an hour or is that when they are newborn? The most we've done is 45 mins but would love to go up to the lakes for the day when DP is off work next but its a 90min drive from us. Would everyone stop half way through for a drink and to get baby out of his chair? We also fancy the Cheshire Ice cream farm when the weather finally gets nice with DSS but thats an hour so not sure if its too long in one go? Can't seem to find anything conclusive online

WhatALearningCurve · 13/06/2019 14:27

@melissa112 where abouts are you? Those distances are the same as it takes me so just thought I'd see if we're nearby! In terms of car seat - I think it's less of an issue now they have more head control. I went to Wallasey the other day and with traffic coming back must have been in the car over 2 hours. I just get him out as soon we get to wherever we're going.

If I knew it was going to be over 2 hours from the start I'd probably plan a break in to get him out as long as he wasn't asleep

Wineandchoccy · 13/06/2019 19:55

You must be fairly close to me as well @melissa112 I’m in Lancashire not far from Blackburn/Preston

We went on holiday last week and we got stuck in traffic so she was in the car seat a bit longer than planned but was asleep. She was in for 2 hours.

melissa112 · 13/06/2019 19:57

@WhatALearningCurve I'm in Lowton, between Manchester and Liverpool really, how about you? Ok thanks for the car seat advice, I've still been mostly sticking to 30mins and there's not much round here 🤣

WhatALearningCurve · 13/06/2019 19:59

I'm in Bury so north Manchester but had to drive through Lowton the other day to get to Wallasey ha

melissa112 · 13/06/2019 19:59

@Wineandchoccy oh lovely, nice to know there are others nearby! I've done a lot of dog walks down that way, Roddlesworth and Darwen tower! Would you say on a 90min journey you'd do a little stop or anything up to 2 hours?

melissa112 · 13/06/2019 20:00

@WhatALearningCurve haha its a small world! I went to Boomerang sensory place in Bury last week!

melissa112 · 13/06/2019 20:01

@WhatALearningCurve oh and also used to walk my dog round Phillips Park a lot!

WhatALearningCurve · 13/06/2019 20:01

@melissa112 that's on my to do list when I get back from holiday! I've never actually been - was it good?!

melissa112 · 13/06/2019 20:09

@WhatALearningCurve it was ok, it was about 45mins for me so probably wouldn't make a special trip for it again but if you're nearby I'd say you could kill about 20mins in there..we were in there about 20mins but it was the half term so busier than normal i think. Maybe on a quieter day we'd have just chilled there a bit longer, he definitely enjoyed it though! Will be interested to hear how your little one enjoys the lit up ball pool thing. Never have i seen a more confused face, he was on DPs knee but just looked so Confused

Wineandchoccy · 13/06/2019 20:37

@WhatALearningCurve we have been to boomerang quite a bit with dd1 it’s good but probably better when they are sitting up or crawling. The soft play part is way to old for this age even my dd1 who is 4 sinks in the ball pool part and needs rescuing.

melissa112 · 13/06/2019 20:53

@WhatALearningCurve yeh agree with @Wineandchoccy, the play area bit is way too old. He enjoyed the sensory room, it has those tube things with floating lights..i forget the name! Some lights on wire things that they lie on which he loved, a lit up ball pool but someone would have to hold them, and some infinity mirrors. Its smaller than i thought though so depends on whether you just popped in or wanted to a few hours. It was only £2 so not too bad for a quick visit

melissa112 · 13/06/2019 20:55

@WhatALearningCurve these are the light things, my mind has gone blank as to what they are called. And LO nosying at other babies
