it is quite funny actually (oh evil mother) now i can't understand a word or even hear him!! he's just whispered jooooce at me then curled up in a ball and gone sleep... two seconds later ryan wakes up... grr!!

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 14/08/2007 10:40

dont you love the fact that they never sleep at the same time!!!!

am waiting for bloke to come and value the flat!!!

littlemissmischief · 14/08/2007 11:03

Mygirl - hope you get the keys today, it is so isnt it?

Stacey - I hope you get your housing probs sorted soon too.

Saralou - Hope ds feels better soon.
Alfie had his 9 month check last week and he is now 19lb 7.5oz so hehas put on 11.5lb in a month, also he was 69cms long last month and he is now 74.5cms!!! The new hv couldnt believe it she said he will be tall and thin not like me or his dad then??
He does the climbing thing too usually on me but whatever is nearest, I have clumps of hair missing, the coffee table is swiped clean on a regular basis and he has a fondness for the cat food? He does this really funny thing where when he is climbing up he holds on with his mouth so soggy legs also!

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 14/08/2007 11:05

ds was weighed a few weeks ago at 18lb 8oz at 8 months, dd is 26lb 13oz at 33 months

i second the soggy leg thing! ds does exactly the same!!!

mygirllollipop · 14/08/2007 13:29

Stacey -DD3 is around 32lb at 26 months, she's chunky but not fat! I think DD4 is around teh 19.5-20lb mark but not had her weighed in ages. I actually weighed the big two as we were doing a project. DD2 was 6 a couple of months ago and is just 3 stone, DD1 is 4 stone 6 without a scrap of fat on her, there's just no telling is there?

littlemissmischief · 14/08/2007 14:20

Can any of you help me. Have any of you had problems going from puree to mushy foods, Alfie wolfes down pureed foods and will eat finger foods and my dinner etc with ease, but if I try to give him a jar or anything that is like stage 2 (slightly lumpy) he spits it all back out. I know he should of been having it for months but it so much easier to give him puree I know he will eat I know ive done myself no favours!
Any advice?

saralou · 14/08/2007 14:38

little miss, just do finger foods or foods he can feed himself, don't stess yourself over it.. that can only make it worse!

ds1 was a little sod to wean, never liked food really... the only thing he would eat was spaggetti hoops and sausages (a heinz jar) the best advice i got was stop trying to feed him! honestly he won't starve, ds1 is still a healthy little boy!

ds1 weighs about 2 stone, but he's quite tall... comes up to my waist, easily nearly 1metre tall!! i shall have to let youi ll know tomorrow what ryan is... but i can tell ya now, he's very long!!!!

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 14/08/2007 17:43

littlemiss some kids have trouble going from purree to lumpy purree but are fine with real lumps like your ds, as its wet and sorta like urree they try and treat it as such but onviously it doesnt work, id say jsut go on to finger food, for now! although feel free to ignor me, my dd was eating stage 2 jars at 3 months although ds will eat purree he prefers proper food, even if we feed it to him iykwim!

mygirllollipop · 14/08/2007 20:54

LMM - DDs1&2 hates stage 2 stuff and DD3 wan't into stage 1 or 2, give them what they want and eventually the feed themselves with forks! I can't really remember weaning them all now and they just seem to be able to feedthemselves now!

mygirllollipop · 14/08/2007 20:54

Oh did I forget to say - we've go the keys!!! Moving on Thu, tho cleaning and painting tomo.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 15/08/2007 09:16

mygirl glad about house for you!!

just had a message about non reciept of an ebay item from over a month ago!!! i jsut assumed shed got it!!! now iv got to try and find proof of postage, iv probably chucked it! arrrgggghhh the stress!

saralou · 15/08/2007 10:54

morning all!

ryan is huuuuge big monster he weighs 20lb 9oz and is 78cm's long (he's just turned 8months)

ds1 has now been referred for speech therapy and more hearing tests we're all thinking he may have glue ear.

podglet · 15/08/2007 17:15

Aww poor old DS1 Sara
diet failed today. Been doing really well but had a busy day today and eating times got messed up. Ended up having a low fat muffin in Costa this afternoon for lunch! DS is now 21lb and about the same height - long skinny boys!

Hurrah mygirl - finally! We are hoping to exchange this week which would be fab good luck with the cleaning and painting!

Littlemiss - having the same prob with DS at the mo - finding as others have said, give him things he can feed himself. I always give DS some bits of toast / peas / raisins on his high chair tray so he can eat / play with them and it allows me to shovel the lumps in and he doesn't notice so much

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 16/08/2007 10:30

sara sorry about ds1, hopefully you'll get it sorted this time!!

oh im bored, someone come and relieve me of my bordom please???

dh is on holiday for 2 weeks from tues next week! i cant wait!!!!

fatbetty · 16/08/2007 10:34

Hi All! Sorry I haven't had time to chat up with your messages. I pop in every now and then and see what you all are up to. I'm feeling rather miserable at the moment. I've been struggling with PND on and off and today I feel like I hit the bottom. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced this too? I feel like I'm in a state of panic and can't shift it. Maybe it has to do with school starting soon and DS1 will be in reception and DS2 will be starting nursery....feel like my babies are growing up (duh, of course they are!!).

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 16/08/2007 10:40

fatbetty, i had a lot of pnd when ds was small, seems to be easing off now hes not quite so colicky and refluxy and needy!

it is hard when you realise they are all grown up! but maddy will still be around for a while! try and it's a nice day! why not plan a picnic in the garden?

fatbetty · 16/08/2007 10:52

I know, I know....I just feel like it's so paralyzing and it's very hard to get motivated. Maybe I just need to have a good cry and then get on with thing.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 16/08/2007 11:07

a good cry is great but not when the kids are around as they ask questions like 'why you crying mummy' and it either makes you cry more or get angry with yourself because you cant explain!

fatbetty · 16/08/2007 11:37

It's so silly because I feel fine when I'm with other people. Just feel like I'm grasping onto their childhood which I feel will be over tomorrow (ykwim). I felt this way last year when choosing a nursery for John. After having a huge cry I felt much better and could get on with life again. sigh

Charlee · 16/08/2007 12:46

Fatbetty - Oh hun i know jsut how you feel, i got quite desprate at one point i was just so sick of feeling crappy and down i just cried all the time.
Have you spoken to your g.p? I am on anti depressents which have really helped me i feel 100% better. I hope you feel better soon, i felt really rubbish when Jack started playschool but now he really enjoys it and i enjoy that break i get 3 days a week.

Littlemissmischief - How is DS with Finger foods? thats how i got Harry usedf to lump by just filling the tray on his high chair with steam sofe veg, bananas, bread that sort of thing and he just pickes it up and takes what he wants but it got him used to chewing the bigger lumos, and then whe he was used tot aht i introduced harder things (raisins, apple, biscuits) ect.

Mygirl - Glad your moving is going well.

Saralou - Sorry to hear about DS i hope everything goes well, i shall keep everything crossed for you!¬

I am very aware that September is looming which is a very busy month for me, i have Jack and DP's Birthday (booked dp tickes to see Jimmy Carr live he's a huge fan)

I have Jack's mot at Brompton his annual review but i call it an M.O.T!

And were seeing the specialist about having Jack's tonsils out. Im going to bee runnig about like a bee with its bum on fire i can just tell!

fatbetty · 16/08/2007 13:16

I saw the GP last week and I'm back on AD but it takes a while for them to kick in. Doesn't help either that my period only started up a month ago and now I have a rush of hormones to deal with too. Fantastic. I am looking forward to having school start again so that I have some time to spend one on one with DD. Just feel like I'm running out of time all the time.

saralou · 16/08/2007 17:46

sorry that you feel so crap fatbetty. afyer i had ds1 i had all kinds of wierd emotions and panics... pnd that i wouldn't admit to probably. but i did see a counsellor, who helped. i don't know what or when i felt better. would you do something like that... what does your dh have to say?? keep up with the ad's they will help soon.

on a different note, the boys have been asleep since 5.30... i hope they stay that way!! i love nursery.. it knackers them out!! i had a very productive day at work today, finished a load of paper crap that was piling up in my tray and wrote 3 leaflets!! i'm now going to reward myself with chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate

saralou · 17/08/2007 11:38

morning!

well ryan didn't stay in bed... he woke at 10 and it was about 11.30 before i persuaded him sleep is good, only for him to get up at 5am

he was being exceptionally cute though last night, which is why it's all going wrong! he makes me laugh too much!!

podglet · 17/08/2007 14:53

Hi all, sorry not been around much, been a hectic week. DP off til next tues which is nice but means my laptop time is severely cut

FB, sorry to hear you're not feeling great, hope the AD's work their magic soon for you.

Sara Ds is being v cute at the minute, he does this thing where he puts his head on one side and grins at you, so you copy him and he finds it hilarious strange boy... I find telling him off really difficult coz he is always smiling and laughing at me, even when he has strewn all my shoes around the bedroom floor

Charlee - we have lots of birthdays and things coming up over the next few weeks (inc mine - yay!) PMSL at "bee with bum on fire" fingers crossed for Jack's MOT!

Hope you have lovely weekends
