am not [sticks tounge out emoticon]!!

have done the washing up but havn't managed their bedroom yet...whats the point they'll only mess it up anyway!

AlfieJacksmummy · 20/07/2007 12:44

Well my mums here and the house is a s**t hole but I dont care!
Im blaming it on the moving saying that its all ready to be packed
Ive washed up and put washing on, think thats quite good considering im sooooooo ill (cough cough)

NatalieJane · 20/07/2007 14:34

Afternoon

Well I have polished the living and dining room, cleared up the bedrooms, cleaned the windows everywhere, loaded the dishwasher, put 3 loads in the washer and two of those into the dryer, moped the kitchen floor, wiped over in the bathroom, moved all of the shoes and coats in the hall way, (it seems so big in there now!!) And now I am going to go and polish the rest of the house and hoover everywhere, including under the beds/sofas/furniture, and I am going to take the cushions off the sofa and hoover under them, love that job, there is always money down there to be had LOL

Thought I might as well get it out of the way on the first day of the hols. When DH gets home we are off to Tesco and McDonalds, thought we'd treat DS, and then I might get in a nice relaxing bath

podglet · 20/07/2007 15:02

Well, we are a busy lot!

I have done naff all but I do confess that once a fortnight a friend of a friend comes in and blitzes the flat for me for £15. She came on Tuesday so it's not too bad. The Kitchen floor needs doing and the bathroom could do with a tidy but I have just had my nails done so I couldn't possibly ruin them by cleaning

Am half packed, DP just has to put his stuff in tonight then toothbrushes etc in the morning! The wedding is in Northampton so a bit of a trek.

Am off now, before you start throwing cans of polish and stuff at me

AlfieJacksmummy · 20/07/2007 18:36

Ah guess what?
My dp has just announced to me that he has pre ordered me a copy of Harry Potter for a belated bday pressie and he paid the rest of it tonight so can go get it tom morning! I cant believe he is sweet!
Has anyone else had this terrible rain, we have dingys out in the streets and people are just abandoning their cars in the road!! My poor mum is stuck and just trying to find out whether to walk back to mine (a good few miles) or stay in her car and wait to try and get home

Mummy2TandF · 20/07/2007 22:51

Hiya all - Sorry I haven't had time to read any of the thread Had so much going on here but just thought I would pop on to tell you all that I am still here! All is fine with the dc's ds has started nursery 2 mornings a week which is lovely and gives me some time with Freya, who is now "slugging" as we call it, she drags herself accross the floor at a rate of knots on her tummy, it is so funny to watch ... have also added a couple more pics on profile - anyway off to have a bath now but I hope everyone is well and I promise I will try to pop back more often

podglet · 22/07/2007 15:33

Hi all,

Boy am I glad that is over. 'Twas one disaster after another. Need to get it off my chest...

  1. Friday night, discover dress is a little tight - have not had a chance to try it on before as it has been at the menders. Throw mother of all tantrums. Find another dress that will do.

  2. whilst loading the car on Sat morning, DP breaks 3 ribs. Cue trip to A & E at 7.30 am and Dr not letting him drive. DP does not therefore come to wedding as he can't sit still for long, let alone 2 1/2 hours in car. I go with DS in my mum's car with her and her DP.

  3. my entire family decide they know what is best for me and DS and so I have a whole day of nagging and sniping about by mothering skills. I struggle on my own in a rubbish hotel with zero facilities. Hotel decides to put us in room next to main staircase at the beginning of a corridor, above the reception. Nice and quiet then. I go to bed at 8.30pm with DS although people offer to help babysit as I need to get away.

On the up side, DS has been an angel and was so well behaved. My alternative dress looked v nice (if I say so myself) and my cousin had a wonderful day.

Hope you have all had better weekends

mygirllollipop · 23/07/2007 09:58

Ouch - I burned my fingers.
Podglet - hope your DP is OK.

saralou · 23/07/2007 15:14

ooh, mygirl i saw your other thread.. the burns looks really painful - don't pop the blisters (incase your still tempted!!)

podglet, that sounded like a sucky kind of weekend... i hope your dp is ok and that he has some fabulous drugs to keep him comfy!

i hope everyone else is ok, and not being affected by the floods! we had a whole day of summer here yesterday (of course i was working though, so completely missed it) i can't believe what i'm seeing on the tele.. poor people flooded!

CharleeWeasley · 24/07/2007 07:44

Morning all

Sorry i haen't been around i wanted to read my HP book before i came on Mumsnet incase anyone leaked the plot! But i have read it now so im happy

Harry is coming on in leaps and bunds he has decided to conform to normal crawling so is unstoppable now!
He has finally got a tooth which he insists on biting me with bless him!

We are having wars with the council about moving house, they have deemed jacks bedroom unsafe for any child to sleep in as it is so damp and since the boys cannot share as i have to go into Jack several times a night, poor Harry is now sleeping in our hallway (luckily its big!)
Anyway i rang the council and explained vair politley that it is not5 on them leaving my baby sleeping in a hallway but they claim they are doing all they can and they have to do several more assesmets before they can help us.

Jacks doing well, he is being incredably naughty at the moment and has me in tears nearly everyday with his behaviour, he is so jelous of Harry when he is with us by himself he is as good as gold but as soon Harry wakes up and comes down staris he is a nightmare, he beats Harry up and trashes the house completley, our HV is usless and just says we have to 'distract' him but it doesnt work, in fact nothing seems to work to stop him doing it.

DP and i are ok nothing to report really just bumbling along with life like we do, We finished paying off our loan yesterday so we are 100% debt free which is fab!

Mummy2TandF · 24/07/2007 22:44

Podglet - hope dp is okay
Mygirl - sounds painfull
sara - hiya
Charlee - I know what you feel like being in tears with ds's behaviour (although you have more stress than me) ds is also sooo jealous of dd, I thought it would have worn off by now but if we show her attention he has to come and jump on us or push her over or take hetr toys off of her etc, he has also started with really bad tantrums ... screaming when he doesn't get his own way like a spoilt brat! (He isn't spoilt btw) I have been in tears a lot recently, what with looking after both of the dc's, working at weekends and having to deal with the problems with dh Never mind, I am sure things will pick up, have gt dd's christening on 5th August, so that is something to look forward to - if I ever get a dress

AlfieJacksmummy · 25/07/2007 09:05

Hi.
Sorry I havent been on, but thought I would come on to let you know what a nightmare time im having. Im sure you have all seen the news about the flooding and I live in Gloucester (one of the worst hit places). I couldnt believe what I was seeing! It rained really hard all Friday and then me and my Mum went to Tescos which is only round the corner and the traffic was terrible, it seems stupid now but we thought it was an accident and nothing to do with the rain, then my mum got stranded going home to the forest of dean so had to leave her car in the middle of the road and walk back to mine about 3 miles. So Saturday we went to get her car and it seemed ok there were loads of cars abandodned everywhere and some dingys in the worst bits but she got home ok. Then Sunday they said it will flood terrible and you wont get out og Glos and there is no electric or water so we decided to leave. My neighbour has kept us informed, Ive seen my road on sky news and everything it is so weird!!! The flooding is up to no 6 on our road and im no 8 but ive had to leave the cats and all our stuff I was terrified it would get ruined. Im supposed to be moving monday too so God knows what will happen, I dont even know if the houe im moving into is ok?
Anyway going to go check the roads now to see if I can get home! Hope everyone else is ok x

podglet · 25/07/2007 11:24

Oh AJM, so sorry to hear that. Really hope everything is ok at your house (both the one you are about to leave and the new one). Thinking of you.

Hi everyone else. Mygirl - how are the fingers, those pics looked nasty.

Hi Mummy2Toby&Freya, nice to "see" you back!

DP is ok, he's been back at work since Monday, still a little sore but healing nicely.

NatalieJane · 25/07/2007 13:08

Morning all

I hope everyone starts to feel better/heeled/happier soon, I am sure it is all linked to the sodding weather, if we were in the middle of a normal summer, none of it would seem so bad.

AJM, really feel for you, must be a nightmare. My sister and her DH had to abandon their cars on Friday, managed to get them back Saturday, not too much damage, they are without water, but last I heard they still had electric, and thankfully their house isn't under threat at all. On Friday, when they abandoned the cars it took them 7 hours to get home to Bishops Cleve, on what normally is a 20 minute walk. They said they were wading through waist high waters then. As far as I know all the rest of my family (Grans, Aunts, Uncles etc., oh and my Dad - It never hits the people who deserve it, does it?!) are all OK.

We go away 2 weeks on Friday, can you tell I am excited? I can not wait to see the sun DS1 is so excited bless him, when we took him to Corfu he had just turned 3, and so didn't really make much of the plane and stuff, but he is loving the build up this time

Right I am off to do lunch, hope things start picking up for everyone soon xxx

saralou · 25/07/2007 17:54

hellllllooooooo, good to see you back!!

ajm, sorry chick, that sonds awful, i really hope all your stuff is ok and your puss cats!!

charlee, i was winding one of my patients up on sunday, she left her H|P book out, so i told her i'd read the last chapter and proceeded to make up crap... she took me seriously for all of 1 minute!!

CharleeWeasley · 26/07/2007 10:04

Hello all

I had a lovley night, both the boys didn't sleep i finally flaked out in Jacks bed at 5am only to be woken by Harry 2hrs later as he had taken his dirty nappy off and smeared it everyhwere! He keeps doing it and its just not the sort of thing someone needs first thing in the morning!!

OP posts:
saralou · 26/07/2007 10:28

urgh, thats gross charlee!

maybe it's something with the weather, my 2 wouldn't settle either last night!! it was about 10pm before they both gave in.. a bit different from their usual 6.30 and 7.30 bedtimes!!

i've started a diet today... supposed to lose 10lbs in 3 days! god i hope i can!!

NatalieJane · 26/07/2007 11:05

Morning all

Sara, good luck with the diet, I wore a pair of jeans yesterday that I brought before I had George when I was dieting, they were always a size too small, then I got pregnant and they were a few sizes too small, but yesterday I got in them, so I am officially the smallest I have been since I had DS1 Still got a jelly belly, but I think even if I got back down to an 8 (which is what I was before kids) I'd still have a wobbly belly

Well, what do we have planned today? Gingerbread men decorating, fairy cake making (from a packet ) make your own party hat, pass the parcel with just me and DS1 (should be interesting) musical statues with just me and DS1 (should be even more interesting ) and playing cards and board games for the afternoon. Someone take pity on me and come and take my poor bored kids out for the summer please!!!

NatalieJane · 26/07/2007 11:05

Meant to say, Charlee, put a vest or some big pants over the nappy, then he won't be able to undo it.

CharleeWeasley · 26/07/2007 11:08

I have mysteriously lost about a stone in 2 weeks! i haven't been healthy eating that went out the window weeks ago [blsuh] but im not complaining!
I have no problem with my scales not swearing at am as they used to!

I do put harry in a baby grow he pulls the popper apart and gets to it same with a vest, i must get some placcy pants from somewhere!

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 26/07/2007 11:28

AJM im soooo sorry to hear about the flooding, it must be really hard for all involved, i cant even imagine! hope your house isn't affected too much!

well........dh has been offered a new job ..............same money ...........but in Nottingham......!!!!!!!!

hes waiting to speak to the bloke who offered him the job (his old manager) about commision and things and then we'll be seriously considering.......if he can get guaranteed commision of £25k then we can get a mortgage for £110k and can buy a 4 bed house ....it would be good for our family.........but id miss my mum!!!

hope all are ok!

CharleeWeasley · 26/07/2007 11:33

Ph Stacey what a huge decision! It could be a fab oppertunity though.

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 26/07/2007 12:03

Well done Charlee!! I haven't weighed myself since I was 10 weeks pregnant with George, and even then I asked the midwife not to tell me, so I have no idea how much I have weighed at my heaviest, or how much I have lost but for the last month or so, I have actually discovered a waist And then getting into those jeans yesterday, I felt like doing a back flip, good job I didn't, I'd have knocked myself out with my boobs, I don't think they are going anywhere - except down......

NatalieJane · 26/07/2007 12:05

God, I need my head testing, Stacey, what a choice to make?

Glad things are starting to look up for some of you, it has been a tough couple of months hasn't it?

mygirllollipop · 26/07/2007 12:14

Charlee I have some BNIP plastic pants from Boots in what I think will be Harry's size, I'll mail you them if you like, email me.
