Jamantha,

I believe you should wait 6 weeks after vaginal delivery and 10 weeks after c-section before starting 'proper' exercise. We have a midwife-led aquanatal session in Sheffield and that's the advice they give, and it isn't even that strenuous. I would recommend you wait til your 6 week check with GP before doing too much.

Jamantha · 15/07/2007 13:53

Thanks pulapula, I did have 6 weeks in my head. Unfortunately I can't get my 6-week check until 8 weeks, as my GP is very busy and also on holiday. But I'll be patient and stick with some gentle stuff for a while longer, would hae to do any long-term damage.

lilQuidditchKel · 15/07/2007 14:14

hello lovely ladies

Daisy - I'm just glad you got some proper sleep. I almost feel rested listening to you talk about your blissful 8 hours Thanks for taking the advice!!

I slept till 9 today !! Thanks to DP. Our girl still wakes every 3 hours in the night. Ho hum. Must remember this is just the only negative thing and everything else about this age is so glorious I'll be heartbroken when she's no longer a weeny little baby...

Meetup sounds great! Really do wish at times like this we lived in Leeds not London...

must run it's bottle time again!

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 14:17

Why does it frigging rain everytime I do a load of washing?! We have 2 Polish girls staying with us tomorrow and tues and I am trying to get the house sorted, but the rain has come along to destroy all my good works !

Hi everybody! Just woke up from a 3 hour nap!! DH has taken T&G out and I am feeling vaguely human again (can now walk without looking like I need crutches - may even attempt the stairs later).

Can anyone recommend a baby monitor - we need to get one and I'm not sure what's good anymore...

Right - I'm off to catch up as you have been very chatty today!

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 14:22

Honestly, it must be such hard work being my dp! He has been asleep on the sofa for the past 2 hours whilst dd destoyed the living room that I had just tidied. I just asked him if he could make me some lunch whilst I feed Wills, he said "yeah in a sec" and promptly fell back asleep!

Holly, sorry loony, does he respond to kicking

I've just been looking on Uniclo's website - they have some fab things. Does anyone know what their sizes are like?

annobal · 15/07/2007 14:40

Oops, that's not really looking for a baby monitor is it

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 14:45

Have you looked in tkmaxx annobal? They usually have baby monitors quite cheap. I've never needed one myself, so I'm not sure which ones are good. Maybe check out a review site.

Good idea - may send dh down there tomorrow... Have you had your lunch yet?

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 14:48

No ! I can't be arsed to wake him up. Oh bollocks, the washing machine is shouting at me telling me it's finished! A woman's work is never done!

annobal, I bought a bt digital one....it was about £40 i think. It's a two way one and has a nightlight. I used it to tell DS to "step away from the baby" the other day and gave him the fright of his life

I've just had a double caramel magnum and think that I've died and gone to heaven....deeeeelish.

Feeling proud of myself, just did a proper sunday roast with roast potatoes, (gluten free) yorkshire puds and all the trimmings. That's the first proper meal I've cooked since before babyboo was born.

DH ans DS have been having a bonfire in the rain today and being survival specialists...now watching Ray Mears eating big fat caterpillars (bleargh...I'd rather starve)

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 15:37

Well done for the lunch daisy, sounds yum, I am v ! I had a bowl of weetabix and a packet of crisps!

Dp has just woken up, that's a 3 1/2 hour nap he's had!

BTW daisy, your dh and ds sound like they are having fun! I've been watching ray mears too, I am joining them in spirit!

Is DP still in the doghouse Holly? and can he remember what it was he did that was so bad?

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 16:04

He is even more in the doghouse now! Sleeping all day has not helped! Apparently he had an arguement with someone, though he's not sure what was said, but it must have been quite bad!

I have done lots of housework today, I am feeling pretty smug! I am not doing the bathroom though. Dp can do that tomorrow, since he is suspended, whilst I go shopping with my mum!

daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 16:24

My DH is sleeping now too....he was up twice in the night, bless him.

Babyboo is on poo-strike again, she hasn't done a poo since Friday...I am so not looking forward to the explosion when it happens. I think the formula has done weird things to her system too....she's been doing the loudest, smelliest farts all day.

Jamantha · 15/07/2007 17:01

Charlotte just did 1st poo since Thurs. Nice! Thankfully DH was on rump duty

daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 17:13

lol Jamantha, DH did two as she did two explosive ones in a row....it's definately my turn for the next one!

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 17:34

I don't mind changing the little boy nappies, it's the big girl nappies I have a problem with! Alice never does solid poos, so it is always gagworthy changing her!

foxybrown · 15/07/2007 17:36

"rump duty" lol!

you lot back 2 yr old chatty ways!

getting my jeans on Holly?? I can't get shoes on at the mo due to my elephantitus.

Am going to download my photos now. I might actually include one of my giant trotters for you to laugh at.

could be some time...

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 17:39

I am having shoe ishooos too! I walked to my parents' the other day and my shoes were so tight they gave me severe blisters and my toes were covered in blood!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 15/07/2007 17:45

can only get my slippers on, and that's cos they're a size 9!!!

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 17:52

Wow! Size 9! You've beaten me by a size ! Maybe that's why we have big old babies!

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 17:55

my feet are only an iddle diddy size 4!!

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 18:21

Ooops! Just worked out what the problem with dd is, she is teething. I think her molars are coming through, she is dribbly and snotty and has just told me her mouth hurts. I feel really bad now, I have got really cross with her for screaming all the time! I'm a bad mother!
