Could she be talking about us?

"So there is something refreshing about finding mums in internet chat-rooms cheerfully announcing that they're having a great time drinking gin and everyone can wait for their supper."

holly, babyboo has only had about four baths as well (compared to DS who had about 4 a week...and consequently sore spotty skin ). she smells gorgeous all the time, but I do love the smell of Avent baby stuff.

Thanks for putting people straight on that other thread...my heart sank when someone referred to boo and not bo (I knew these names would cause problems, but feel I have the moral high ground as I bought daisyboo in the MN nickname auction for mile for maude)...maybe I should change again to Daisyboonotbo!

I had eight, yes eight, hours sleep last night. managed to express a couple of ozs, and she had that and a bit of formula but I feel fabbytastic, if a little bit sad at being redundant! expressed this morning and now have 6oz (from one boob ) in the Bank of Boo for next time.

Derlor, another one . I would love to but DH not keen. He thinks you shouldn't have any more children than you have hands, LOL

Off out for a walk in the woods today with babyboo in the babybjorn.

have a good one everybody!

daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 10:01

interesting Jamantha..that one should brook a bit of debate on here today, and hopefully the BF/FF debate will be allowed to die its long, drawn-out and painful death.

or not as the case may be!

Morning all. How are we all getting on?

We had a mixed night last night. Fed dd at 10 then went to bed, fully expecting to be woken up at 1. She slept till 4am! But then just power napped in our bed until 9 (you know the drill, sleep for 20 minutes, whinge, maybe feed, sleep for another 20 mins, whinge a bit more etc.)

Like DKMA, I wish dd would just feed, and not feed, pull off, refuse any more, fall asleep, then 10 minutes to half hour later want more food!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. Saw the chat about a meet up - would love a mass June meet up! Name the time and the place!

daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 11:11

Hi bumper....doing fab this morning, and trying to get out of the house for some quality family time, bot babyboo having other ideas!

Which I don't mind as it gives me an excuse to lurk on here.

How did the bbq go?

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 11:17

Morning all! Hideous night had by all here! Alice woke at 4.30 and was screaming for ages. She is being a nightmare! William is a little angel compared to the tantrum throwing little banshee Alice has turned into! She has had 3 major hissy fits already this morning. I think it may be time for her to go and visit grandma!

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 11:25

holly, don't banish her to grandmas, you might make things worse! it sounds like she's trying to get your attention using the biggest weapon in her arsenal....trying i know, as ds is doing the same thing, but we've been making an effort to involve him with babyboo and do more one on one stuff with him, and he's getting better!

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 11:31

I'm trying daisy, but she is driving me bonkers! She doesn't understand that she is bigger and tougher than william and she can't play with him because she hurts him. I have ordered a sling so hopefully when that arrives I can feed and carry around William and play with Alice at the same time. I need an extra pair of hands (and boobs)!!

She very sweet yesterday. She got her dolly and was bfing it! I nearly cried, it was so cute!

Glad MRR is getting better. You've given me hope! I just think Alice needs to get used to me not physically being able to give her all my attention all the time. We'll get there!

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 11:50

It's so difficult isn't it, when they've been the centre of the universe for so long and then bam....someone else comes along. I think that's why going from 1 to 2 is harder than 2 to 3 or 3 to 4. At least MMR is a bit older and has more of an understanding of babyboo's needs. He can be a bit rough with her as well, but he is getting to be more gentle!

That BF/FF thread is still raging....itching to say more, but don't need the added stress!!

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 11:52

Someone called daisybo daisyboo last night after you'd gone! I got straight in there and stuck up for you! God forbid anyone should think that sanctimonious cow is you!

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 11:58

i saw that thank you...my heart sunk when i saw it. posted as much here earlier.

did the formula thing last night and i got 8 hours sleep. i fed her at 11, then went off to bed. apparently she took 2 oz ebm and 3oz formula at 2:30 then had another 2oz formula at 6:30. I slept till 7:30 which was bliss, but had weirdy dreams all night.

she's been guzzling all morning in pay back though, but i have 6ozs ebm in the fridge for another time, so the formula needn't be a regular occurence!

So....ok, go on lilkel, i admit you were right

daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 11:59

bugger, was going to go out for a walk with babyboo in the carrier, but its bloody well raining again.

oh well, ironing to do instead while the boys get wet in the garden.

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 12:06

Sorry daisy I missed your earlier post! Glad you got a good sleep, formula once in a while is going to do no-one any harm!

I bought Alice some new colouring pencils and crayons yesterday and I've just given them to her and she is playing happily! I feel less guilty now!

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 12:06

Don't do ironing daisy, it's for dullards! Get some more sleep whilst you can!

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 12:16

well, maybe not ironing, but sorting of laundry at the least.

DH got all my pre pg clothes out of the loft...

  1. i didn't know i had so many clothes
  2. most were put away unironed

so i have a big heap of crumpled clothes to sort out as well as the usual weekly load!

foxybrown · 15/07/2007 12:22

morning lovely ladies!

Jamantha · 15/07/2007 12:23

I just went through all my pre-pg tops Daisy, and sorted them into fits well, fits snugly, and does't fit. Thankfully not too many in the doesn't fit pile. But an incentive to make a bit of an effort with healthier eating, though easier said than done I know. Haven't had the courage to sort out "bottom half" clothes yet though, will keep wearing the same few elasticated trousers and skirts for a bit longer before even attempting any with zips.

daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 12:23

afternoon lovely foxy

daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 12:26

that sound organised jamantha....what makes me despondent is how some of my tops which fitted lovely, now aren't long enough to cover my tum and keep slipping up. Been doing some toning exercises and it's getting better, but i hate the spare tyre effect when i sit down. I keep trying on bottms...getting there slowly, very very slowly

Foxy, don't you dare tell us you're back in your jeans already

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 12:28

Morning lovely foxy!

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 12:29

Soz, afternoon!

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 12:30

I can get my old jeans on, but they are vv uncomfortable and cannot be worn with tight tops due to spare tyre! Atm I am mostly wearing jeans with top button undone with cunning wrap dresses. V stylish and hides a multitude of sins!

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 15/07/2007 12:35

hmmmm i need to invest in some wrap dresses methinks!

loonylovegood · 15/07/2007 12:36

One word daisy...Primark! My two fave dresses were £3 and £5 in the sale! They have lovely funky patterns on and fit really well!

Jamantha · 15/07/2007 12:37

Am building up my walking in attempt to get myself fitter, and lose a bit of weight, really should do some toning too though - thanks for the reminder Daisy. Am keen to get swimming again too, but not sure when I'll be able to. Part of this is practial, not organised enough yet to go off swimming early on Sunday morning as I did beofre the birth, and also not sure when it's recommended to be able to restart such things. I don't want to sound like I'm copping out, but was told not to exercise, other than a bit of walking and gentle toning for a few weeks, just not sure how many is a few??
