bugger! are you going tobe ok bumper? do you have gas so you can at least boil water?

loonylovegood · 23/07/2007 10:35

And there's me worrying about my washing not being dry !

no only electric here If the power goes I will have to go to my mums, but that is 2.5 hours away. I'm sure it'll be fine. It was worse when they were worried about the power last night, at least it's day time now. Have a HUGE stack of washing up that I can't do. Fortunately I'm used to only showering every other day if I'm lucky at the moment! Just thankful that I am breastfeeding!

bumperlicious · 23/07/2007 10:43

God, could be worse, at least I'm not having to be winched out of my house! And a women had to give birth on the M5, fortunately a midwife was two cars behind her!

Just hope DH doesn't get stuck at worse. Even though the rain has stopped the waters are rising as they are coming from the mountains down the rivers.

Oh the sun has got his hat on, hip hip hip hooray...!

loonylovegood · 23/07/2007 10:46

Well, there are plus points to being winched out of your house...sexy rescue hero type men, exciting helicopter ride, a story to tell your grandchildren !

Hope your power doesn't go, you won't be able to MN!!

Seriously though I hope everything is ok and you can stay at home.

I know, I was just thinking I'd better charge the laptop but of course I wouldn't be able to get on the bloody internet.

We'll be fine, just keep an eye on the news for a women and her 4 week old baby being winched to safety!

Seriously though, we are ok. We are not directly affected by the water thankfully, it's just the threat of the water and the power.

loonylovegood · 23/07/2007 10:56

I want to watch the news now, I have no idea about what parts of the country are affected, but dd is watching cbeebies and she will scream if I turn it over!

I hear that areas near us are likely to suffer flooding today. Hopefully we'll be ok. Our neighbours' son's house is flooded though.

And I've just been to GP and am being referred for an xray. I thought I had fluid retention still in feet - and it might just be that - but he wants to rule out a fracture. Feel about the long walk yesterday now - was trying to drive lymph system to help clear fluid, but couldn't move toes properly when I got home and foot hurt like F*. Will know more on Thursday pm.

derlor · 23/07/2007 11:29

morning all,
First Charlie - Did you stop bleeding then re-start or has it been constant since giving birth? if stopped then re-started then you need to tell GP about your 18 day bleed - they will probably want to scan you just to check no membrane left in you.
TA Daisy is (as usual, god she's good isn't she) correct. it is way too early to give hungry baby milk to your LO could lead to horrible gastric problems - increase the amount instead of changing the milk if you need to
Bumper for you i hope things don't get any worse for you, don't know what i'd do without my washing machine and MN!! - nightmare, nightmare, nightnmare
Foxy re your milk spillage, hope you've got your house spick and span and a cake in the oven in preparation for the HV visit!!!!!

loonylovegood · 23/07/2007 11:32

Morning derlor! How's the weather in bonny scotland?

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 23/07/2007 11:35

FUCK! Dp's been sacked!

OP posts:
derlor · 23/07/2007 11:40

Oh i forgot (sorry Annobal ) you asked yesterday how to tell when breast is empty. you said you can always squeeze a little out, basically i'd advise squirty milk = pleanty left, small drop (unable to make it squirt) = nearly empty
oh and i've had a brain wave (well the biggest wave my brain currently capable if anyway!!) Tallulah i think green poo would also not be uncommon during/immediately following a growth spurt. if you think about it, baby feeds more and therefore needs to poo more often, the milk therefore can't spent it's usual time in the system cause there is not enough room due to amount of feeding going on. So, more likely to be green as it hasn't had enough time to process properly within the body? Does anyone have a clue WTF i'm talking about?!?!?!

derlor · 23/07/2007 11:43

oh Holly that's awful, i really feel for you - what you going to do????
Are you OK for a short time till he gets something else??

andiem · 23/07/2007 11:49

Holly that's terrible news will you be ok?

loonylovegood · 23/07/2007 11:49

He's being paid for this week and he may have something else sorted out possibly for next week.

I am so angry and pissed off with him, but what good is that going to do? Apart from the money situation we now have no car.

Fuck, fuck, fuck!

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 23/07/2007 11:53

The trouble is is that if he doesn't find a new job we probably won't be able to get any help with the rent because my parents are our landlords and we don't have any sort of contract.

OP posts:
foxybrown · 23/07/2007 11:53

WTF????!!!!!

derlor · 23/07/2007 11:53

what does he do Holly, is he likely to get something else quickly, with another car??

derlor · 23/07/2007 11:56

would your parents be able to help you out with the non payment of rent for a few weeks if necessary??? paying them back ASAP

foxybrown · 23/07/2007 11:57

you can buy tenancy agreements and fill them in, can't you?

WTF did he do Holly? are you any the wiser? is he on contract or staff?

seems a bit severe if you ask me. if he's staff there might be grounds for appeal.

loonylovegood · 23/07/2007 11:57

He is a sales rep, but quite a well paid one. There are other jobs out there and he has already set up an interview for this week, but I don't think it's as well paid. He is such a knob! It was a great job that he really liked and he had a lovely car and a good commission structure.

OP posts:
derlor · 23/07/2007 11:59

well at least if he just takes whatever he can get the quickest, then look for something more suitable you'll still have money coming in.

loonylovegood · 23/07/2007 11:59

He is going to appeal it, there were all sorts of dodgy things in the investigation, people with differing witness statements etc.

OP posts:
loonylovegood · 23/07/2007 12:00

And the laptop has to go back !
